I heard the Shesez block was a mistake, because he quickly unblocked him afterwards.

Wasn't the RogerBase drama because of Josh Thomas of the BitBlock? Who is actually a racist (and more) pile of ****? Idk, I can't remember much about it.

But regardless, I hope they left on good terms. They all had the same political views too, so I hope nothing worse went down.

Iirc Rogerbase was saying **** behind the scenes that caused a lot of drama. I don’t remember josh Thomas being apart of it though.

And even if they had the same views politically, having someone who is the face or your brand picking fights with people over the subject probably doesn’t look great. After all they are close with companies like Nintendo. I doubt they want people who review their family friendly content for everyone games to be starting arguments and stuff like that with fans.


Either way I hope for the best as well. It’s a pretty big departure.

From what I remembered and looked up, it seems related. Andre called out Josh called out for his racist behavior on Twitter, Roger tried to defend him in those tweets, and sometime after that Roger stopped appearing in Gamexplain videos.

There may be more to it behind the scenes, but that was a point for where they started having a falling out.

Hot Nintendo takes?

Pokemon Sword and Shield, for the most part, look about as good as Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Three Houses, despite having some great characters and ideas introduced in it, has a lot of major issues that really bog the experience down for me. The big one is the tediousness of the monastery that can really drag the experience down on subsequent playthroughs, but other problems like fake difficulty in its harder modes and poor class variety/balance are also a huge problem.

So it doesn't look like I'm taking too big of a dump on Three Houses, I will say that game does make me really excited for the next big FE game since it still did introduce a lot of things I loved, so I can't wait to see how the next one builds on it and improves its flaws.

i'm late to the unpopular nintendo opinion thing but i'll throw my hat in the ring anyway and say that mario kart 8 is honestly my least favorite "modern" mario kart (as in DS onwards)

like it's got the graphics and music, but imo it falls flat at everything else. the new tracks, while pretty frickin' good on a conceptual level, have super straightforward-and-linear-to-the-point-of-not-being-fun-anymore layouts caused by the oversaturation of gimmicks and the need to have each track feel super grand and crazy and all that jazz, the roster hurts to look at, the item balance feels sterilized, and the core driving itself isn't nearly as fun to watch or play as compared to wii for example.

by all means i think it's a fine racing game on its own and i'd even say it has its merits, but it's just not what i look for in a mario kart game

Honestly, the same applies to Pokémon on my end. While I adored Shield, I can still see why Gen 8 gets so much flak, which is why I'm looking forward to the next step for the games. IIRC, X and Y had a similarly (albiet, not nearly as) rocky launch, what with the return of grid-based movements and what many consider the worst evil team in the franchise, among other issues.

tbh that's the exact reason I can't get into Weiss. I'm not really an anime person(especially when a good like 70% of the anime Weiss has is from the kinda anime I don't like which has.... very fanservicey characters) and even the english exclusives most of the time aren't really that interesting to me. (like, I didn't even know Batman Ninja was a thing until Weiss)


The gameplay is pretty fun though... it's basically a mashup of Buddyfight and Cardfight!! Vanguard with a few more things on the side, and seeing all these anime and series duking it out is a neat concept... it's just really my tastes lead me nowhere. Now it would be a different story if Bushi could get names like One Piece, Naruto, some big names that isn't just "new and popular anime #167", hell just dump a bunch of content from their other games like Vanguard into there, and I would be on board. Just can't really find anything I like, y'know? I mean in general anime is just outlandish to me overall... but that's a topic for another day.

My Nintendo Confessions

1. The NSMB series doesn't need to go through sweeping changes, the "old reliable" formula can easily coexist alongside more ambitious projects such as Odyssey
2. Chrom is the most unfairly hated character on the Smash roster, and it's downright criminal that people are willing to suggest demoting him to a Marth alt
3. While romantic x art can be heartwarming in its own right, I wish there was more fanart that portrayed them as platonic BFFs (it's right there in my signature)
