It was suggested for one of the Metroid Prime games, but apparently, Japan (or at least Nintendo) has a very different view on what "bounty hunter" means.

I mean, that's kind of what Metroid 2 is. The plot revolves around the federation contracting Samus to essentially exterminate metroids.

Got a serious question for this thread. In my 5th grade English class here in Japan, we are doing “”What would you like?” And I would like a pizza”. Basic ordering in a restaurant setting while also showing the difference between “what do you want” and “what would you like”. This is all content that’s required by the Ministry of Education and what I have to teach.

Today, our focus was further strengthening the role of the server and the customer and the lesson plans dictate we have to introduce “sir” and “ma’am” and use that in our practice and activities. I teach with another teacher who is Japanese (me being American) so it’s a team teaching situation but we are always on the same page about what we want to teach. One thing we want to teach are progressive issues and we sneak these in as much as we can. Like when we taught “he” and “she” but we also made note to cover “they” and explain why in our 4th grade class. We always try to cover it in a positive light - even when the kids snicker and such over it. They are 1st through 6th so I cut them some slack and don’t get all “HOW DARE YOU?!” when they laugh about it.

Anyways, we walked in not knowing the non-binary word for “sir” and “ma’am” so we couldn’t teach it. It just slipped past our heads so I made a note to look into it for our next class on Wednesday. I read that sometimes “mx” is used. Is this correct? Here’s an example sentence

“What would you like for dessert, mx?”

Is this appropriate or is there another appropriate usage in this situation?

Seeing videos of the new consoles in action has been interesting to say the least. Mostly since I got to see how games like KI, UMVC3, MVCI and Tekken Tag 2 load MUCH faster now. DBFZ also seemed to have mostly better loading too, namely on the VS screen. Tag 2 impressed me the most since most Tekken games have notorious loading, except maybe the PS2 games having pretty solid loading.

I've yet to see how much Tekken 7's loading has improved tho. But I hope it's substantial since T7's loading is pretty chunky.

Obviously, the way they market how loading is non-existent is a complete exaggeration/fabrication. But the difference is notable and worth complimenting.

That said, any of the stuff I've seen is mostly older games running better on new hardware. Whether or not new games will load like the previous generation did on their original systems has yet to be seen much.

Of course, despite all that, only when a console has a ton of killer apps will it be worth getting.

I wonder if we'll get that Switch pro after all too. I like MUA3 a lot too, but the less loading I have to deal with, the better.

It also seems like Tekken's netcode improved quite a bit, but I don't know if it implemented proper rollback or it just vastly improved what it did before.

Well each game is essentially one mission. Usually given to her by the federation, whether it's to eliminate the Metroids or to locate missing personal. Prime Samus was basically given different briefings which eventually just led to "Track down the mission hunters and Kill Dark Samus"

I feel like if Metroid games were just longer in general, then we may see different mission briefings throughout the game as well as more optional side missions. But it's designed more as an adventure platformer than something like an RPG. Of course other platformers had done something similar when it comes to missions and sidequets, but with Metroid there is a very strong emphasis on isolation and exploration. You are meant to feel alone in an alien world as you try to locate your objective in a hostile world that's too dangerous for most other normal people. Hence why she get hired by the Federation a lot to do these dangerous missions.

I do however like the idea of getting some more side questy like missions. Perhaps a bot or a hub with an Adam AI type character that will give some additional orders to go along with your main mission in game. Rewards could be as simple as missile expansions or energy tanks or in some cases perhaps even new beam weapons and visors. But make them mostly optional, so the player can go through the game in a more speedrunner sequence break type play if they wanted. Late game would be difficult if you skipped a lot of side missions for upgrades.

The only actual bounty hunter who hunted bounties was Captain Falcon and that was because the American comic accurately portrayed him as a bounty hunter before future titles just made him a superhero racecar man.

Been playing Minecraft on the Bedrock Engine on Xbox and Switch.

My latest Xbox World is crazy for a few reasons:
1. I spawn next to a Pillager Outpost and a Abandoned Village a few steps away.
2. Underground first cave I enter and there's two Dungeons next to each other. Was getting bombarded by Skeletons and Zombies before I destroyed it.
3. The Nether is terrible and I made a emergency exit portal to escape it. I am now lost trying to find my base with no map and no coordinates.

Nearly beat Eye of Cthulu in Terraria on Master Mode. His second phase where he ends up zooming around a bunch is crazy. Had him under 1,000 HP. First phase wasn't too bad with my slime from the Slime Staff fighting the smaller eyes. Gonna restock on potions and some better arrows and retry.
