Alright! The next batch of Justice League members for my show! Only two more to go after this! So let's get to it! Here we have...
You may know Despero as the tyrant of Kalanor and master of both brains and brawn with his immense physical strength and powerful psychic abilities. But Despero is not currently in control of his own body. He is currently stuck in the body of the league's robotic companion L-Ron, whom they rescued from an alien weapons dealer named Magna Kahn. As punishment for his crimes, the Guardians of the Universe mind switched Despero with the feeble robot, and L-Ron decided to use his new powers to finally assist his friends in the League on missions for real! The name Despero will now ring out across the galaxy as a champion of justice!
Funnyman was the second creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster after they left the production of Superman comics (not for DC originally, but the character flopped so hard he's actually in the public domain now lol!) so I thought I would resurrect this old forgotten character in this show! Originally a TV comedian failing in the ratings, Larry Davis was inspired by the heroes cropping up around him to create a costumed crime fighting identity to boost his popularity. Unfortunatley he had very little in the way of physicality or powers or resources. That's where his old college roommate Happy Harrigan came in, as well as his girlfriend and producer June Farrel. June would pretend to be kidnapped by Happy, who would be remotely puppeteering a robotic "supervillain" named Doc Gimmick. Davis would arrive in his comedy-themed persona Funnyman and "save the day". This plan worked a little too well, as his ensuing popularity caused him to attempt to actually assist Superman with battling Mr. Mxyzptlk, who banished him to the 5th Dimension with a snap of his fingers. From his perspective, Davis spent three thousand years there, no longer needing to sleep, eat, and his body adapting to the 5th Dimension, changing his physiology into something almost cartoonish (I designed him with Golden Age of Cartoons traits) and granting him immortality. Returning after many many many many years to about a week after he left, and aided by the same tech which powered the 5th Dimensional Imps, he went all in on the Funnyman persona, a little bit too hard. During the process his insanity scared his girlfriend into dumping him, the networks to ban him, and Happy had his mind transferred into the Doc Gimmick puppet, making him a real supervillain. A vestige of the real Larry boiling to the surface, Funnyman begged to join the league in hopes that their order could reign in the chaos that he could not stop himself from creating, and the league reluctantly agreed.
Tomorrow Woman, real name Clara Kendell, appeared to simply be another of Magog's former metahuman soldiers, with powerful psychic and telekinetic abilities. In truth, unbeknownst to even her, she was the creation of the Brain Trust. An alliance of scientists consisting of T.O. Morrow, Professor Ivo, Hugo Strange, Will Magnus, Achilles Milo, and Dr. Milton Fine. Each one bringing their unique scientific advancements together in an attempt to create an army to take over the world. Or at least... that's what they thought. Clara was the result of this collaboration, the final prototype before they started mass producing their soldiers. A perfect hybrid of man and machine, sent to infiltrate ad destroy the Justice League. Unfortunately for them this did not work (does it ever?) and she rebelled and joined their ranks for real. And she was instrumental in helping them take down her creators. Turns out, Milton Fine was secretly being controlled by nano-machines, the last remnant of the destroyed Brainiac. Their research was combined not to create an army for them, but an army for Brainiac. Brainiac had become a virus, able to take over any man or machine and transform them into a new body for him and an extension of his will. Thankfully Clara and the Brain Trust's other robotic creations were able to stop him, but the brains of his infected human victims (including the scientists who helped to create the virus) were permanently fried.
