I am so done with this game its not even funny.
The first tier list at least looked somewhat credible. I can tell smashers worked very hard putting this list together, it was thought-out and well designed, and they should be commended, but in all honesty, this tier list is so spread out with so many tiers it shows just how uneven and horrible this game really is. With a character so broken as MK, and a team so broken as the Omnigay, playing this game competitively is pointless and foolish. Advanced play is all about cheap and inescapable chain grabs and gimps. I went to one tourney early on when brawl first came out, and it was fun because none of that crap happened yet. And don't even get me started on f*cking tripping.

Play this game at home for kicks, and leave the competitive play to Melee, where skill governs the outcome of matches.

Mmac, Sonic's character match-ups list looks bad because we're not like the majority of sub-character forums on here as we don't assign ourselves advantages against characters like Falcon automatically with no discussion. I've seen some boards do...close to that. (not pointing any fingers, as I'd probably have to start using toes to count too.)

I call shenanigans on the reason people say he's good at tournaments though. It's often said that Sonic is a match-up that just needs learning, then it becomes a whole lot easier. Apparently this inexperience is the reason why Sonic does well. However, with all of these 'millions' of Sonic's entering tournies, why aren't the match-ups learnt and why is Sonic not doing terribly along with the likes of Ganon + Yoshi as opposed to frequently being up there with allegded high tiers like DK and ZSS?

The millions of Sonic's thing is bull****. One mod said it, and you're all parrotting it like ****ing budgies. Grow a spine, and see that I would say only a dozen Sonic mains (on these boards AND outside) have ever placed in a tournament, and I'd say just under half have only placed once. I'm...going to have to start taking DJBrowny's outlook on things I think >_>

As for Sonic's placement, well it doesn't come as a suprise to any of us. I'm sure the majority of us felt he merited 3 or 4 places higher at least, but meh, not the end of the world. Thanks to any SBRers who actually argued a case for Sonic.

The character cast is too diverse to be grouped by titles without making them way too confusing. You would have to get into things like low high and high mid and what not...

Letters keep it nice and clean.

If I remember correctly, I explained why Sheik/Zelda should be considered one character in the tier list. It's wrong to assume that because they were separate in Melee, they should be separate in Brawl as well.

First of all, djbrowny, I respect you and your posts normally are well argumented and intelligent.

But... this doesn't really sign the impression I've got from you. If you think the SBRB members are as dumb as high school kids for whatever reason, go ahead and do so, but it doesn't speak for your debating skills and your intelligence if you go out and attack them with childish insults like that.

The reason and liability of everything is debatable, but if you let yourself down to that level, you're not better than those morons posting porn pictures to make people upset.

Someone couldn't understand why Pikachu isn't the 12th best, since Lucario and Olimar tied right above him, giving them both 10th place. I used Tournament Results to try to explain to him why we still say Pikachu is 12, and not 11, even though Lucario and Olimar both take the 10th spot. xD

Most of us are quite old. I'm 24, and I can think of 5 members who are older than I am off the top of my head.
There may be a few high schoolers... like 1-3 of them.

Well MetaKnight is CLEARLY the best character in the game. Fox had Marth and Sheik to deal with. It is really not that hard to see once you look at it.

Because PT has the exhaustion system, which weakens his Pokémon in the course of a battle, forcing him to switch (or otherwise being forced to switch as he'll be pwned).

I personally think that Ness is slightly better than Lucas, especially after playing with both of them for quite a while. Lucas' recovery may be better, but Ness' projectile game is slightly better. Yoyo > Lucas' attacks every day.
It's of course very arguable, as they both are so different, yet so similar.

Ness and Lucas being equal is just wrong in every possible way. Tourney results dictate this, matchups show this. (even if they aren't finalized, Lucas has bad matchups)

Lucas shouldn't even BE that high, even LUCAS MAINS agree with this.

Ah k. Cause I KNOW that like you, Panda, OS, Umbreon, AZ, the Kishes, Buzz etc are all well over high school age. A few people even have kids. Didn't mean to generalize as much as I did.

PT is one character because your Pokemons get tired and you have to switch, and because it switches you when you die.

Zelda/Sheik are separate because you can play solely as one or the other. Some people wanted another entry for Zelda+Sheik, but there wasn't enough support for it.

Pokemon Trainer is forced to switch out Pokemon or else their strength dies out. Your not forced to be switched out with Zelda and Sheik.
