In honor of my birthday I decided to post a bit of a pep talk before the big apex tourney
I realized this last hope was MOSTLY just pittsburgh. I noticed that our region is really good and that the rest of the world deserves to bathe in our glory. Between epic 2 v 1s, crazy luigi trixies, deep marth down airs, falcon punches, donkey comebacks, borp, and 100 dollar mms; We have alot to offer.
Its time we stepped it up.
No more of this knocked out in 1 match stuff. We are a force to be reckoned with. WE being the key word. Lets do it together. Lets play like a family. Cause thats what we are now. No more getting jacked when we lose to one another. Your not losing to somone you deserve to beat. You lost to somone in your smash family who knows you in a way you probably didnt know possible. This person helped you grow as a competitor. So think of that the next time you lose a set. Smile as you shake their hand. Cause that handshake is not just a "Good job" but a "Thank you". We need to find humility before we can achieve greatness. So root for your fellow pittsbutlerians. Root for an ashtabulian. Heck root for some random new player whos feeling a bit nervous because its his first big national. Root for your favorite characters. Pittsburgh is about the hype.
So lets play like a family...and bring it ;D
This second half is dedicated to everyone who has made me the competitor i am today. We have all made sacrifices. But the pay out was beyond worth it. Im thinking of actually playing other fighthers, speed running, brawl even (it was fun) and am gonna being cut back on melee a bit. Im not gonna quit it but I plan on taking my life in a new direction for the new year. Stepping it up as you will. So cheers to every chap that has made an impact on me from this beloved community.
Jacob Delenore Raducz - For how long ive known you i sure hope i got your last name right. You were the first person in my life that wasnt family that I could honestly say id die for without even a second thought. You have inspired me for years. Your my favorite artist. Period. Your potential is untapped. Thank you for teaching me to honor patience in the ides of competition. Cant wait to sing my lungs out in the car for apex ;D
Master Namaru Of Nak - What more could a team mate ask for? We have come a long way you and I. Trough hourly sessions of broken spirits and controllers. Here we are. The counts of monte combo. I dont know how how well we will do at apex; But I can safely say this. I feel bad for anyone who has to play us. Because we are here to fight and its GOING to hurt. Thank you for showing me that just because somone anally penetrates you with falcon punches (I take pride being the person you have falconed punched the most) that I can still live to fight another day. Thank you for teaching me roll with punches and fight till my last breath.

Green Ranger - You may not realize this but your actually the best person in our region. Caqtuar has been the best in PA for like 70 years. Your the only one from PA to EVER beat him. Your also an incredible sport and the best DK ive ever played. You should prove that by the way at apex ;D

Yea man. One time I checked "dump textures" while running smash on Dolphin. This was one of the results. It's Falcon's face texture. It just happened to be perfectly avatar-sized and incredibly badass. My avatar is literally falcon's face.

Last night I dreamt that I had attended Apex. Much to my surprise, the venue was an abandoned bush-plane hangar amidst a sprawling rural field.
Also to my surprise, M@v was hosting the tournament and expected precisely $114 for an entry fee. Apparently I couldn't come up with this money even in my dreams, so, in a brief moment of reality, I chose not to enter the tournament.
I walked around spectating for awhile and happened upon none other than our own Mr. Lake, who kept having to play fellow Pittsburghers every round, as keeping with typical Pittsburgh protocol. This time, however, he surprised me by wearing a hat that was at least two head-lengths tall and was seemingly meant to resemble some manner of cake dessert. Or maybe it was a cake he was wearing. It wouldn't be the first time that my dreams included Aaron wearing desserts in some fashion.
Also, when he got to Taki in the bracket, the two of them agreed to make it a money match as well, and the entire attendance of the tournament gathered round to spectate what they were calling "'TheLake' vs 'TheSand.'"
I have no memory of who won in the dream, so apparently my brain was only interested in producing the ethnic joke.
Finally, the hype was rising as finals were set to take place, and while I couldn't make out the one contender's identity, I was rather surprised to find that the other finalist was Link. Not his character, but the player himself was actually Link.
And he was playing Fox.
Unfortunately the details of the match were lost to the dark oblivion of subconsciousness, but I do remember Jacob offering to give me a ride home on his motorcycle, which was awfully nice.
