Well, now we're only 13 days away from knowing the truth about Geno... We will pretty much know as soon as the game comes out because if Geno's an AT, Square Enix will be credited on the title screen... then again, that's not all that helpful because after that, we wouldn't know if he was playable or didn't make it in at all...

Hey I support Geno all the way but if he was somehow made an AT (even though this is VERY unlikely but nothing is impossible) how would you react? I mean you'll prob. be sad...but when the Geno-haters come to this thread to put you down would you: ignore them? defend yourselves?

I would say, "skip you, at least he's in the game and will kill your favorite character," but that's just me. My thought's about Geno, I love playing SMRPG and love his attacks, he would make Brawl more intrersting.

If Geno is an AT (lol what a laugh. Geno an AT? hahahahahahahahaha) and haters start coming in here flaming everyone than I am gonna take a vacation from this thread.

Hi Fatmanonice, Now that got me at a good thinking...What if mallow was out of the blue announced as an AT? That's sure to give a "Geno = cunfirmed" Sign up.

Wow psychoincarnate, That's sad, But remember...If we win then this thread goes to "Geno discussion" On the sub-forums! :), We're so close to finding out his fate...I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT.

Man, I hope we get this roster next week, the suspense is killing me. I need to know if Geno is playable.

Yeah, I couldn't accept that. Geno as an assist trophy is just mocking you, saying "haha you can't play as me".

The way I see it, we better either get Megaman or Geno or bOTH.

So close... SO close... Twelve and a half days away until release - even LESS until the roster gets leaked. I SERIOUSLY can't wait.

Do you think the roster would be leaked before the game comes out in Japan? I think Nintendo is very good at keeping secrets. Also, I've seen some ridiculous mock-up "leaked" roster threads. They have like 50 characters on them. If we get 50 characters then I'll be extremely happy, but seriously I only expect about 5 more than we got in Melee. 38-40 would be fantastic number.

I really do expect to get the real roster leak soon. People normally get games before release, and someone will probably leak the full roster within the next twelve days, before release.

The roster for Melee was released a full month before Japan got the game. Back in 01. And yes, I have been waiting almsot(as well as all of us in the Geno Alliance) 12 years to play as Geno in a new game. We deserve it, being this close to the release date. I had one of the toughest semesters of college since Ive been at university, and the hope of Geno being in this game is what got me through a lot of the bad times.

If you really think that after everything we've been through throughout all these years, all of the speculation on IGN, G-Faqs and Smash Forums that Im giving up hope now, you're crazy. It's up to Sakurai, and by God, he will make Geno playable!!!!!!!! (This is Spar........I mean SMASH BROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Who said I was accepting defeat? Accepting defeat would be saying something along the lines of "I have a feeling Geno won't be playable - I'm worried".

I think Geno has a good shot, and he's my most-wanted character, but I'm just saying - if he's not playable, I won't have much reason to stick around. I've already got my own gaming forum to hang out at.

Another thing to think of, if Square re-released SM RPG on VC, that would give away the big surprise of Geno being in. That's probably the reason why it's not out yet till after Smash Brawl.

I am feeling it, Geno has to be one of the surprise characters. If he was in Mario & Luigi Saga, he ain't dead. Sakurai knows the fans want him in. This is it.

Geno was in Mario RPG in '96. Then in 2003 he was randomly in Mario & Luigi SSS? Why? Only one reason I can think of. Seriously though, all Square wants is credit, just like how Sega will be given credit for Sonic's inclusion. It's not a big deal like everyone makes it out to be.

If Geno has made it in, which I am most hopeful he has, It will probably be for 2 reasons:

1-He was one of the most requested characters on his poll and up to now, something like half of the top-requested are already confirmed and we might not even know half of the roster yet.

2-He's both a very popular and yet very obscure, almost making him a wtf character, and Sakurai even already specifically talked about him being 1rst rather than 3rd party from his point of view.

So there, if he is Playable, that's why. If he is not, then it was Sakurai's decision.

Oh and in my opinion it seems quite clear that Geno cameo-appeared in SuperStar Saga as some kind of easter egg for fans who were about to enjoy a new rpg mario game.

That being said....

I don't know about you guys but I can almost FEEL his mightyness already... Have Faith in He who serves a Higher Authority And Protects the Star Road!!! I Know I do, And I believe Sakurai Has, too!

SAKURAI HIMSELF said that he sees him as 1rst party so even if he has had to go through all the third-party-asking-to-use-the-character thing,
which I'll afterwrads say why I greatly doubt it, he won't take a third party place.

Also, when you do a little research.... you don't find out everything you need to come to a flawless conclusion, but if you like geno and want him in, you'll like this answer.

Mario RPG was NOT MADE by Square.

Mario RPG, its characters, story and music should normally all belong to nintendo.

Remember how the Square Logo was shown after the nintendo one when you turn on your SNES? not only that, but square's logo isn't even on the game's box or label.

And here's why.

Square made the GAMEPLAY of mario rpg. They made the game with squaresoft because they were and still are the best RPG making company ever, and they wanted the game to be a great one.

As far as I know, only the combat, map, levelling, character switching and stats, item effects and ETC (INSERT OTHER GAMEPLAY ASPECTS ) is Square.

Square is Credited at the end of SuperStar Saga for Geno's cameo appearance, hinting at the fact that they indeed have part of the rights on him.

If it was a nintendo or square person that created Geno, who the hell knows,
but for some reason they have some rights on him. But in any case, Mario RPG is a Nintendo Game with Final Fantasy References, not the other way around, so the Game has a Nintendo SOUL to it (loll).

Enough extreme fanboyism for today, me thinks.

Yes, Geno is listed under the Mario series. That's because characters are sorted by series. ''Third-party'', in that list, refers to third-party series. The Mario series is first-party. Geno is part of the Mario series. Does that mean Geno is first-party? Absolutely not. Here is a much more calculated, non-fanboyistic conclusion:

Geno is a third-party character from a first-party series.

As proof, I have a copyright Square-Enix. in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. As ''proof'', you have a vague argument that can be interpreted in different ways.

YOU fail.
