Soooo Digy here are a few things I noticed.

I saw you using up b like offensively(on stage) and I'm not sure why. diddy has waaay safer OoS options than that. (bair, fair, uair, nair, banana, etc...)

Also I saw waaayyyy too much rolling around in that match, so definitely try walking instead.

I'd also suggest you try to add more side b in your game(the grab part specifically)

aaand lastly I'd say to try and cut down on dash attack...I know its hard to stop using it but its pretty punishable overall...so try to cut back on it

Hope this helped :)

Xcallion

Your also doing a lot of rolling so you gotta cut back on that

I'd say work on the way you get a hold of your bananas from the air. like instead of using airdodge, try to maybe z-catch, use an aerial or instant throws instead. those options are both safer and faster than an airdodge

Also try to work on your follow ups after you land a banana. There were a few times where you hit him and then either dash grabbed past him, or accidentally dash attacked past him. Instead I'd say just walk to them instead. when you start a dash, you SEVERELY limit your options while when your walking you can still do literally anything out of a walk. So next time you land a banana just walk to them instead and then attack/grab accordingly. For example just a simple banana> walk> d-smash is awesome for killing.

Since your just starting to use him I'd suggest just sitting down and practicing your glide tossing, Z-catching, and instant throwing

good luck man you got thissss

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Koru Barton

Awesome Diddy man, I don't have too much to suggest really

When your fighting marth just keep in mind that u throw is freakin godlyyyy against him. he has very very few options when you're below him and most of them you can just punish with a banana> which leads to another grab so it helps rack up damage and momentum.

when you were above him like on a platform and he would knock you off make sure to jump to avoid tumbling. I'm pretty sure he has like something to make you force stand which im sure leads to like tipper f-smash or something ridiculous...so just look out for that.

some pretty funny stuff happened game 2 btw :p

umm other than suggesting moar u-throw I don't really have much to say. maybe some other people will come here and critique...even though that almost never happens :/

Good luck to everyone and I hope I was helpful :)

Thanks Everybody, im going to practice about that

Sai: Up B is just a option to attack, not the safest, but works for me, what i need to do with my side b?

Xcallion What did you mean with airdodge and glide tossing? sorry i dont understan that u.u

Koru Barton: thanks for your comments, this marth its so hard haha, he is growing up everyday, is awesome D:

When you airdodge or press Z in midair while you're touching an item you can catch it.

My bad those were just my critiques on those 3 people I watched so I should probably answer all of those questions. the other 2 paragraphs were FOR Xcallion and Koru not from them...isorry :3

Its hard to explain it but just generally try to use diddys side b grab more. like when you notice someone shielding a lot, or even after a banana trip. it adds like 13-15% each time so...its pretty awesome

you can catch a banana mid air with either the Z button, or the shield button(s) the difference is that if you catch it with airdodge it leaves you really vulnerable and it takes a lot longer. if you press Z its lagless and you can pretty much do anything afterwards

Hello! I know I don't drop in here too often, but I recently moved to an area that has smashers in it as opposed to having to travel 250 miles to go to a tourney and will hopefuly be posting more.

I have a few vids that I would like critiqued...

Vs. Pwneroni

Oregon St. Championships

Round 1
Round 2
Round 3

Emerald City Brawl

Round 1

I'll post round 2 as soon as pwneroni gets it up (I'd do it myself, but I don't remember my youtube login info ^.^').

Any critisizm is much apreciated! Just let me know specifics in situations, habits you notice, anything that may help. Thanks!

I have a general idea of mistakes i made in this set, but there could be good/bad things i may not have noticed i did.

Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQvaeRh7Iqc&feature=feedu
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrRA1nEEfHU&feature=feedu
uhm dont have time to make a full analysis now but I will later. but from what i noticed, you stay in your shield for way too long and you do it a little too often. i saw alot of chances to punish blown by you playing safe and shielding.

These are my tournament matches from The Iron Brawl I. Any critique is appreciated, particularly of the matches that are bolded:

===More Important===

Ingulit vs. Reflex (Wario) (Seeding Pools)
http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283860863
@ 0:06:15
* I've never played against a Wario before, much less Reflex's! Help would be appreciated.

Ingulit vs. Kismet (MK) (Brackets)
http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283860863
@ 0:55:05
* I don't have much MK experience, so any help with these matches would be amazing. The second game ended up closer than I expected, but I destroyed any hope of coming back by gimping myself on my last stock.

Ingulit vs. T1J (Pit) (Brackets)
http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283860863
@ 1:45:10
* I have literally never played a Pit in my life and had no idea how to approach this match. I played very aggro because I thought I can't out-camp a Pit, but Reflex told me afterward that the exact opposite is true :\

===Less Important===

Ingulit vs. George (Kirby) (Seeding Pools)
http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283853442
@ 1:28:50
*NOTE: My matches with George lasted a LOOOOONG time, I camped like I've never camped before.

Ingulit vs. Ryker (Falco) Game 1 (Seeding Pools)

http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283853442
@ 1:56:00
* The first stock was for teh lulz. I had to spike SOMEBODY in a tournament match!

Ingulit vs. Ryker (MK) Game 2 (Seeding Pools)

http://www.justin.tv/abxy_gaming_network/b/283860863
@ 0:00:00
* I took him to RC not knowing he had a pocket MK. It still turned out a LOT closer than I expected. P1, you might like this match.

===Other===

In my only match that wasn't recorded, I played against Da Bomb's ICs in the bracket after losing to Kismet. It came down to the last game, me with 70% on my last stock and him at 35% on his first, but I still managed to win (I play him every week, and I wasn't about to let him eliminate me xD). I really wish that could have been saved, it was so clutch.

So yeah, I'm trying to get on the PR in my state, so I need all the help I can get. Any tips?

Monkey flip kick against Wario offstage is a bad idea. You're just asking to get farted on. Try not to fastfall any laggy aerials and use B-air alot

Game 2, right at the start, you drop a banana and run after it sort of desperately. Don't chase your bananas down only to get punished! Work on your banana-less game a bit so you can space your way into your bananas, rather than feeling helpless without them.

Ing it seems you were nervous or something.. I watched your Reflex set and you made alot of technical errors and were very impatient. missing Z-catches/instant throws. Going really aggro for kills got you punished alot.

You are pretty damn good at keeping your momentum though

Alright, first match I've had recorded. I'm aware of a lot of mistakes, but I would like critique please :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsHTjOPEq24

Thanks.
1:19 was clearly a bad choice of moves. dunno if you rolled and smashed out of impulse but that wasn't very smart and you got punished for it.

You play around offstage alot, it's something you need to stop doing.

Hey dudes, I've not posted here before. I guess I'll give it a try:

These two matches are from 2009, I have improved since then (I only had picked up Diddy for a little while during this time --former Wolf main). I do not know who my opponent is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG4pzLBCH6A

These two matches are against Infern. A top level Snake player in the Midwest. This is from the same tournament as the first matches (in 2009)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vf-3xvP1jo

These two matches are against AlphaZealot. He is actually a top level Diddy player from the Midwest. He trashed me in game three, sigh.... I'll post all three matches. I think I remembered who I was playing in the third game and it really got to me. I'm so inconsistent.

Sombra vs. AlphaZealot (game 1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye1aFwj2Ph4&feature=related

Sombra vs. AlphaZealot (game 2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrnQ-AZwavc

Sombra vs. AlphaZealot (game 3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-mZMbK5ptI&feature=related

If you see any bad habits I have, please let me know. I'm striving to be a respectable Diddy player. I live in West Virginia, so it's not always easy to get in practice against difficult opponents. Personally, I think my biggest flaw is my inconsistency. I can play very well, but I don't keep up the gameplay.

Thanks for any advice!

By the way, the matches against AZ were from a tournament two weeks ago. Okay, carry on.
I saw you catch bananas with aerials alot, when you couldve instant nana threw em at AZ.

You also lost control of your bananas way to easily, it was like you were handing him your bananas so thats something you should work on.

Yeah, after reviewing the matches against AZ I noticed that as well. It is something I need to work on. He had superb banana control. I did at times, but at other times I was sloppy. Hence the third game massacre. Thanks for reassuring me of this problem, man!

Sometimes I just go into autopilot when I play. I need to get in the habit of opening my mind at the same time to use technical skills.

I'll definitely work on it!

Yeah the smash was stupid.

Should I stop using popgun to get back to the stage? I screwed it up once with the timing on B-reversal and ended up getting boosted away from the stage if that was it.

Thanks for the input.

Hello Diddy's, i was hoping to get some critiques on a few recent matches with Lavlis(our nation's best Yoshi). Any critique would be welcome :)

First off, I'm <333 with the Scott Pilgrim music

2nd, pretty good play there.. you guys were both a tad too aggressive at times, especially your opponent made some awful choices.. some you punished, alot you didn't. That Yoshi lovedd taking it to the air, so why not? Banana>aerial his dome or something, yea he could catch it/instanthrow it but he didn't seem to make it a habit when you DID do it. Its alot easier to see what you should have done after it's happened. Hindsight is 20/20 ya digg?

You got some interesting mixups and gimmicks, might steal a few myself :awesome: keep practicing

lol thanks man.. ill try to add the banana to aerial in more. the reason i was aggro in this is because i've tried to camp him before.. and i end up getting two stocked :/ i feel like i lost the matchup a lil bit in the second game.. especially at the end.. i kept seeing alot of mistakes i was making. the yoshi doesnt instathrow.. these arent some of the better ones i had with him.. but unforunately the only ones that were recorded using the dazzle and on my wii

but yea.. as more come.. ill try to put more on here and get your opinion :D thanks again man
