eh... iceys vs ganon is hard

sure if we get a grab it should be a stock, but just because each regrab of the chaingrab does more damage (we get to choose between dthrow+dsmash > regrab and the dthrow reverse dair infinite) doesn't change the fact that really, against every character a grab is supposed to be a stock (jiggly**** excluded).

approaching a ganon with iceys sucks ***. jab outruns and outreaches our wd jab, and shieldstun makes it non wd>shieldgrabable. on top of that EVERY ONE OF GANON'S MOVES separates us, and nana does not survive long against ganon at all.

everyone says falcon is iceys worst matchup besides peach, i disagree. at least we can force falcon to approach and then cover all his approach options (utilt beats half his aerials, ftilt beats the other half, jab to grab owns). if we force ganon to approach with blocks and blizzards, ganon can rush in with a fair, and if he hits our shield we can't shieldgrab unless he SERIOUSLY misspaced (neither ace or jim do). if we mistimed our shield, nana gets hit and then popo is fuxored.

the reason why i wanted to play Jim was because I had a lot of fun playing him at herb2 and I felt like I was getting better at the matchup, although i was losing. Also jim's a cool guy.

i'm bringing melee to omni's, obviously. hopefully i can get some practice vs people other than karn and foxy?
........

I said all of this monthes ago. But you were all like "LOLOLOLGrabDthrowreverseDairWewin".

Why don't people listen to me? ._.

Oh yeah and Falcon's still a better choice than Ganon. And MArth IMO is IC's second worst matchup although I see alot of ICs having trouble with Samus. I haven't gone against a good samus so i wouldn't know but I understand.

Oh yeah, count me in for Melee. Although I may make an effort to focus on Brawl and Brawl+ for this tourney

Just dance around outside of Ganon's range, baiting Fairs and punish it with either a dash-attack(which can close that small gap faster than any WD approach from that range) or dash-dance into a blizzard to discourage. Ace and Jim have a habit of double jumping out of a shorthop so meet tthem in the air with Uairs to rack on some damage.

STOP TRYING TO GRAB SO MUCH. The only way you're going to get a grab is if you have some kind of lead-in or their spacing is WAY the hell off.

Meh, I dunno what else to say. I lost my matches against Jim and Ace but they honestly could have gone either way. I just made big mistakes endgame.

Meh, I suck at giving advice.

Although you may be a good IC player (i've never seen you play, but foxy seems to think so and you OWNED Scar) you're probably just lacking in some basics of fighting ganon, particularly with IC's...being that I have 0 problem at all competing with Ace's ganon and I rarely play IC's anymore. Most people that think this match-up is hard (or 90% of the other match-ups, with ganon) is that they just don't understand ganon. A good ganon player is just going to wait for the opportunity while not getting hit, then capitalize on it. Just don't give him that opportunity.. or try to, I mean. It's not going to work every time... So basically you have to try to do the same thing. Instead of forcing him into a situation that will get you a grab, mind-game him with some fast wavedashes and spam until the opportunity arises; THEN grab and infinite that ***. This is where spacing comes in... spacing is so crucial with fighting ganon being that doing it improperly could possibly result in 3 hits / 60% and/or death. You don't have to play a defensive game, you just have to be creative and mind-game. Uair and Bair are crucial, stuff like wavedash to SH + one of those aerials. And yes, the Uair will own the stomp. The stomp has too much lag and you can time around it. Know when to crouch cancel when you're up close and space nana and popo so you both don't get wrecked if you feel like taking a risk.

Look on the bright side, at least you don't have to worry about getting chaingrabbed.

The main thing that I noticed about Ganon with every character, is that you don't have to approach him at all. He's got a really solid defense, but has problems dealing with pressure once he gets into it. For this reason, don't approach Ganon, spam ice block or whatever and wait. All of Ganon's moves have enough wind up that when he actually gets close enough to you to hit you with the next move you can just simply run in and hit him when you see him starting the move that otherwise would hit you. This is how I usually fight Ganon with pretty much every character. This is also why I think Fox ***** Ganon, because he does this the best (camp, attack fast, and run away)

Yeah, this is a key problem that people have with ganon. You just have to know your character and recognize correct opportunities. His aerials are prolonged and the type of impact changes throughout his entire hitbox. Mix that with some bad DI, and you will get smoked by the end of an aerial that you didn't even 'think' was going to hit you and die at 60%.

IC's can't camp Ganon. Fair/Bair ice blocks all day, too easy.

Fox's camping can easily be shut down with perfect wavelands almost all stages.

Good Ganons won't make it easy for you to camp them, trust me.

Well, if either ICs or Fox are winning Ganon still has to be the one approaching, which is the situation you want to be in vs ganon most of the time. At least, that's the way I play him.

I see how it is. :(

Samus's only really good move in the match-up is her missiles, though. If she can get the ICs separate with a missile, or even get them mildly shaken up, she can get in and pummel them a bit before running away a lot more. Her tilts and jab are also pretty useful, but they can be risky if not spaced perfectly.

shut up james. you know you're good. ps: i loved teaming with you. we should do it again sometime. sorry if i held you back! :(
What did you get, 4th in Singles? I was holding you back, man. We should definitely team more, though; I had a good time.

I actually haven't played your ICs in Melee in a while, though. From what I've seen and heard, you've gotten a lot better. You could probably beat me now. I don't play enough Melee.

I have been like the most active NC smasher lately and totally non existent on these boards.

Chris' IC's are so good....except versus my Peach. ;]

Alex's Sheik is mad gay...but I love that guy.

Kevin's...everybody...is amazing...what an effin *******. Falco is the best character in the game.

Much love to Matt to housing me and everybody that has let me steal endless hours of their time lately. It's been sweet.

Jews may drink as much or more, but they seem to number fewer alcoholics. Of the three major U.S. religious groups, Jews have the fewest teetotalers: 13%, as compared to 21% of Roman Catholics and 41% of Protestants. Regular drinking (three or more times a week) is reported by 23% of Jews, 27% of Catholics and 13% of Protestants. But when it comes to alcoholism, Jews are virtually out of the picture. First admissions (1929-31) per 100,000 of "alcoholic psychotics" in New York state hospitals: Irish, 25.6; Scandinavian, 7.8; Italian, 4.8; English, 4.3; German, 3.8; Jewish, 0.5.

i don't think that religion has a correlation with drinking, let alone anything at all in regards to morality... it's just a stupid excuse for people not to make decisions for themselves. people who let the leaders of organized religion influence their amount of drinking is bogus. Everyone got just as wasted in the biblical times, organized religion just sucks.. it's pretty much a plague to mankind. Especially christianity. Yes I said it.

*random note: I just want to add that lucas is a pretty nice guy to tolerate all the jew comments (not addressing what you said, gofg).... idk, I guess it's varies upon where you were raised. Personally, growing up here and me being in lucas's shoes, I would kick all of your ***** who say that ****. And it actually even gets me a little mad even when I see it done to him, tbh.. Anyway, you're the man lucas. I was even less tolerant when I was 18 than I am now, and I hope you don't mind me saying this..
