I've played both of them several times and gave my opinion. PLUR isn't the one that supports him too much lol. Btw, I wasn't really cutting down his game. It's just one matchup.

nah, i didn't think you were cutting it down. i just know that he has done really well against jim and i didn't think he'd ever played you more than a few times, or ever played you recently since he got better. anyways, iceys vs ganon is almost all about the great cg, and plur doesn't do a lot of cg's.
and yeah, plur does support him a lot. not that i think he's wrong, but it's just funny to hear because most of the nc players think that gofg is trash. xO

i mean, i wouldn't necessarily expect him to beat you. but i do know that the best thing iceys have going for them in the matchup is the cg, ganon is one of the most susceptible characters in the game.
MOST of nc thinks he's trash... which i don't blame them for, very few have played him since he improved. but next billfest i'm sure he'll stack it up. he did as well as i did in herb2 pools. =P

Will he consistently show up though? That's what is really important for him.

whenever he misses a tournament, he has a legitimate reason. he has no problem being able to get to them when he's free.
he was in arizona for plur's, he was at a funeral for the last billfest. etcetera.
oh, and i am absolutely signing up to be your dedicated apprentice.
my goal is to be #3 in north carolina, and i think i can achieve that in a few months if i really work at it. especially with a powerful master like the lord of the piss...

We can't all go for #2 or #3, I mean, Kevin, Adam, and Richard are pretty amazing.
I thought the goal was pretty unrealistic for myself but I wanted to go for something big.

Richard is mad good, but he seems kinda stuck around his current skill level. Not to say that that isn't impressive though. Karn was doing well vs him at Ali's thing.

I was beating Richard about 50% of the time when we were both playing pretty well. It seemed that when I was actually playing my best, I was winning, but Richard's a lot more consistent than I am.
I never played Ali in singles, but I was doing well vs. him in teams, for whatever that means. Just need to find my copy of melee so I can start practicing again.

eh... iceys vs ganon is hard
sure if we get a grab it should be a stock, but just because each regrab of the chaingrab does more damage (we get to choose between dthrow+dsmash > regrab and the dthrow reverse dair infinite) doesn't change the fact that really, against every character a grab is supposed to be a stock (jiggly**** excluded).
approaching a ganon with iceys sucks ***. jab outruns and outreaches our wd jab, and shieldstun makes it non wd>shieldgrabable. on top of that EVERY ONE OF GANON'S MOVES separates us, and nana does not survive long against ganon at all.
everyone says falcon is iceys worst matchup besides peach, i disagree. at least we can force falcon to approach and then cover all his approach options (utilt beats half his aerials, ftilt beats the other half, jab to grab owns). if we force ganon to approach with blocks and blizzards, ganon can rush in with a fair, and if he hits our shield we can't shieldgrab unless he SERIOUSLY misspaced (neither ace or jim do). if we mistimed our shield, nana gets hit and then popo is fuxored.
the reason why i wanted to play Jim was because I had a lot of fun playing him at herb2 and I felt like I was getting better at the matchup, although i was losing. Also jim's a cool guy.

Depends on what part of campus your on. I'm about a 10 minute walk from north campus. It will be farther from south campus, but if you take the a bus north there is a stop right in front of my apartment complex. I can also just pick you up.
