Believe it or not, it actually overcentralizes the game.People want customs from Kart gone? What?

It overcentralizes the game on stats like Swampy said, and also it drags kart selection to a crawl. You can only really see 9 kart parts at a time and it takes forever to scroll through them to see your options, even moreso in a local multiplayer setting where there's always that one guy who wastes everyone's time trying to get a picture-perfect combination.People want customs from Kart gone? Doesn't help that the kart parts are very generic too compared to how older games had zanier choices for karts that wouldn't be possible for the current system like the Gold Mantis or Koopa King. Kart customization also boils down to "what wheels do you want with this kart body", and the glider feels more dissonant from those elements anyhow.
I want kart assembly gone. Just give us a kart selection screen like we have for characters (with some karts coming with alternate colors / paint jobs that don't change the stats) so everyone can pick one and we can move on with our lives.
Okay, now I understand. From my mechanical bloat-hating point of view, it does seem overwrought for an aggressively casual, party-oriented game.Something CTRNF did really well was making characters and karts purely cosmetic, even if it was only added in a patch mid-lifespan. I think kart customisation is fun when it's you know... actually customisable, able to show your distinct personality and vibes, but once you bring stats into the mix, it kinda becomes dull and more a numbers game, doesn't help that colour customisation is almost non-existant in Mario Kart.
The only bad thing is how Nintendo is delivering them, not that the games are lesser known.Nintendo adding lesser known games to Nintendo Switch Online is not a bad thing, regardless if you played them as a kid or not
I agree 100% but it's insane the amount of people (NOT ON THIS WEBSITE) who crap on every reveal begging for the same five games lol. like heaven forbid anyone branch outThe only bad thing is how Nintendo is delivering them, not that the games are lesser known.
From my experience being online, being on the internet has an automatic /2 effect on intelligence and *2 effect on rage. Don't put too much stock in those guys.I agree 100% but it's insane the amount of people (NOT ON THIS WEBSITE) who crap on every reveal begging for the same five games lol. like heaven forbid anyone branch out
It could work for most of the cast. I'm not so sure about it working for characters like Snake or Ryu though.Ideally, both the next Smash and the next Mario Kart’s respective art styles should take inspiration from Super Mario Odyssey; i.e. a balance between realistic detail and vibrant colors.
Roll Out is just super effective vs Quillava. This was the only reason it was hard. Miltank can seriously take some hits too. But it wasn't "hard" persay. I had more trouble with Clair's Kingdra.I've heard discussion of this on Twitter, so I feel like I just say this:
Whitney in Gold and Silver was fine and I never had any trouble beating her
It's hard if you don't go in prepared-which can be true with Bugsy's Scyther, too. Just be a at a reasonable level with maybe a supereffective move and you'll be fine.I've heard discussion of this on Twitter, so I feel like I just say this:

also means they don't know a lot of video gamesAll I'm saying is that those assuming that it's only Nintendo pettily taking down a competitor to one of the first party IPs are misunderstanding just how focused the company's legal aims generally are and that from their perspective it could be that the real money is in possessing/licensing such patents more than it is removing rivals like Palworld from the marketplace.
If Nintendo pettily wanted to take down a competitor, they would've done it to Rivals of Aether and Multiversus. As far as the Nintendo Palworld lawsuit, I honestly think it has much less to do with the former snuffing out any Pokémon clones or being jealous of the latter's success that most think. There's a strong fiscal motive here, but I think it specifically is about defending current patents and the fact that Palworld is a prominent (potential) infringer of them makes them a perfect public legal case to cite for any future examples. Note that this is not a defense of Nintendo about this as I generally think patenting gameplay mechanics is absurd and many of the infamous previous ones (Bandai Namco owning the use of loading screen minigames to name just one) demonstrates how it's a dubious use of possibly outdated law to monetize general gaming concepts.
All I'm saying is that those assuming that it's only Nintendo pettily taking down a competitor to one of the first party IPs are misunderstanding just how focused the company's legal aims generally are and that from their perspective it could be that the real money is in possessing/licensing such patents more than it is removing rivals like Palworld from the marketplace.
I agree with that specifically.embrace unions
Sorry, but that's a double-edged sword. The fans are entitled, unable to agree on anything, and the few times they agree they have collectively bad desires of their own. Just look at how Twilight Princess was developed to actively retread Ocarina of Time and Shin Megami Tensei V was developed to actively retread SMT3. Not saying that good can't come out of it, but that's still a big risk.Embrace working with fans
Less of a double-edged sword, but still. Xbox established itself as being the most consumer-friendly console maker in the Eighth Gen, and then that ended up hemorraging so many employees.embrace more pro-consumer practices
The moment I stopped caring about the Zelda timeline, the happier I wasThe split timeline of the Zelda games is a cheap cop-out answer and even at best it only makes just slightly more sense than if they had not explained anything at all.
The games it made the most sense for was Ocarina of Time and moving ahead for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. It's not really all that relevant for other Zelda games. Yeah maybe Skyward Sword, but that's honestly about it. Oh and Majora's Mash and other direct sequels. The split timeline of the Zelda games is a cheap cop-out answer and even at best it only makes just slightly more sense than if they had not explained anything at all.
what retcons?Yeah honestly, I could follow the Zelda timeline up until BotW just didn't make any sense. Being at the end of all timelines makes no sense whatsoever. A lot of people were mad at TotK for making retcons but I consider each Zelda game its own thing now. I'm actually shocked people didn't get mad at BotW for doing the same thing. The Wild saga can't actually fit anywhere in the timeline except its own universe.
Tears of the Kingdom technically retcons some stuff from earlier Zelda games in regards to Hyrule's origin but it's so minor, most won't pick it up.what retcons?
The dev team said that the hyrule in the wild saga is probably a different incarnation of hyrule than the one in previous gamesTears of the Kingdom technically retcons some stuff from earlier Zelda games in regards to Hyrule's origin but it's so minor, most won't pick it up.
I'm gonna be honest with you, Skyward Sword was the game that made me give up on the timeline lolThe games it made the most sense for was Ocarina of Time and moving ahead for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. As an aside, Demise is far away the worst Zelda villain in the franchise
My reasoning is this: he is to Ganondorf, what Lord Fredrick is to King K. Rool: a similar guy, but way less interesting.
Demise is cool.
Honestly I think the reason people hate the curse is because people misunderstand it.My reasoning is this: he is to Ganondorf, what Lord Fredrick is to King K. Rool: a similar guy, but way less interesting.
And that's not even getting into the lore implications of The Demise Curse
I'm curious, in what sense do you think people misunderstand it?Honestly I think the reason people hate the curse is because people misunderstand it.
I think people see it as a way to rob Ganondorf of his agency when it's actually saying that demons will follow them wherever they go. Ganondorf is just one symptom of it, but he still decides his own actions. It also explains why people like Bellum, Maladus and Vaati show up all the time.I'm curious, in what sense do you think people misunderstand it?
can I check, have you played all the games?I'm gonna be honest with you, Skyward Sword was the game that made me give up on the timeline lol

Nope. And now I wanna know, who would you say is the worst Zelda villain?can I check, have you played all the games?
see I’m incredibly biased because I love the franchise so I can’t bring myself to call any of them the worst. But if pressed I would say Lady Maude from Tri Force heroes is the most bizarre villain and the one I’d guess people would call the worstNope. I suppose I’d call the Nightmares from Link’s Awakening the least interesting. Cause out of all the series villains who only show up for the final battle they’ve got the least personality

you probably weren’t the only oneFair points. Genuinely forgot Lady Maud existed

It's a bit of a shame though. Nintendo doesn't seem to want certain franchises to be too lore heavy. For Pikmin and Star Fox, I think that's dumb, but I get it. It lets them focus on certain things. But for Zelda, it's one of the main selling points. I would love for Zelda more to make sense again and I would love it if Pikmin and Star Fox weren't rebooted.
I'm not entirely sure Pikmin 4 even needed to be a reboot.
I see the Zelda series as a collection of "Sagas" for that reason now. They are:The games it made the most sense for was Ocarina of Time and moving ahead for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. It's not really all that relevant for other Zelda games. Yeah maybe Skyward Sword, but that's honestly about it. Oh and Majora's Mash and other direct sequels.
That's mainly because of a bad translation on the part of the English version, where Demise says "I will rise again!" The Japanese version is clearer about the "curse of the Demon Tribe" being fated to eternally war with the gods and their creations, and Demise instead says something more like "this battle will repeat!"I think people see it as a way to rob Ganondorf of his agency when it's actually saying that demons will follow them wherever they go.
