The Nintendo Experience Presents: Smash Bros Brawl Tournament, March 2-14 (Melbourne)

Since I have no chance of winning a Brawl Tournament, I thought it'd be nice to share with you guys this new Nintendo Brawl Tournament featured inside that new 'Nintendo Experience' concept lounge. There's a two week qualifying period where you can pick the day you want to compete in. I'd assume the winners from each qualifying day will go to the finals where the winner will win a year's supply of games from Nintendo. Sign-ups, rules and the event are handled directly via EB Swanston Staff in Melbourne. Let's just assume the rules will be random and prepare yourself for the worst.

If Smashers had half a brain, they would not go and all compete against each other on the same day and knock each other out of a finals place. That kind of stuff will let a scrub win. Not that there's anything wrong with that... sort of. So I propose everyone that intends on entering post here which day you will be going. You can only go once I believe (since they ask you for your preferred day), although you'd have to check this with EB Swanston Staff.

you guys should use this opportunity to get more players into the Aussie smash scene and teach them the proper way of smash; stock with no items.

yeh i know but think of the few that enter the community and what it means to them, it was from a similar event to this that i found out about this community. It was one of the best things to happen in regards to the game i like the most, just what i was looking for.

QBB was huge, but how many of those people are still going to tournaments?

If the numbers were to show for something, many, who had QBB as their first tournament, has not/did not return to other smash things. Remember the "wanting refunds" stuff?

Yes, these things do grab a couple of people from time to time, but often or not even the "newbies" who do really well don't even care. Nintendo's official brawl stuff (last year) had 500+ people spread over several days, or so I've heard, we maybe got 5 new people who are active from that.

ANYWAY, those who convert are often those harpooned by fellow smashboardians "proness". So it's important for many good players to go.
