None of them were on mine. But of all of them Ivysaur's my fave (if they'd had Blastoise or Charmeleon, then it might've been a different story).

All I've got to say is, I like how unique this idea is, and it bodes well for whatever other surprises Sakurai has. . . but I don't like Red. He's ugly. And I don't like the lack of newer gen pokemon we've seen so far. I still think including only first gen pokemon would be a bad move. We'll have to wait and see who else (if anyone) makes it in.

Never would have guess.. Was hoping for Lucario even though I didn't care all that much for him. I never even gave a thought about the Pokemon Trainer.. not a "hmm a reason could be" it was just a flat out no for me.. Wow..

Lucario has a chance of getting in Brawl as a C.Falcon with projectiles. Squirtle on the other hand (needs a better moveset), would just be a Bowser after a Poison Mushroom, Swampert is a better water poke choice for a brawl character. Also, you forget that Lucario is popular , not in your eyes, but most people who play smash have played pokemon and thus, a greater chance of Lucario in brawl because that's what fans want, you also forget Lucario has more moves than that.

P.S- Out of all of the Water pokes, why Squirtle? If you've played pokemon past that gen, then you know Squirtle isn't popular now.

That cannot be denied, and Sakurai using him in a 3-pokemon team that has to be switched out occassionally to keep effective is proof of that.

He is about as much of a character as Sheik is. He has his OWN model, move-set, animations, stats and so on so yea, he is a complete character (there is must likely just as much time put in him as any other character without a stage) . . . he only leaks a Bv.

Unlike Sheik, though, there's a limited time you can use Squirtle until you have to switch. Who knows what happens if you don't switch, but the consequences are probably bad.

don't even try rationalizing it, blacklight. when you win a match, it's Pokemon Trainer who gets the win, not Squirtle. They are nothing more than living special attacks for Red.

Sorry but why do you seeming insist on making ******** posts? Squirtle is a playable character in the way that you can play him, as a character. Hence the term, playable character. Realistically it is also pretty much the only way that squirtle would ever become playable without going into scenarios which are incredibly unlikely (such as his own character) and so while you may think it's the "lamest way possible" I think this is a good thing for squirtle since you can play as him, as well as Ivysaur and Charizard, without each of them taking up a slot on the character list.

Squirtle could be strong for all you know, you haven't played the game yet. Then again he might be fast with good projectiles and kicks *** against people with a weakness to ranged attacks. There's obviously benefits to playing as him otherwise Sakurai wouldn't force you out of playing him for too long.

The trainer has 3 separate movesets depending on which Pokemon he is using, and thus if they were "just attacks that the trainer uses" then each one would be assigned to a different move like many of the Red movesets that people made. However since each one is different, they're all technically playable characters linked into one gigantic moveset by the non-playable playable character, the PT.

I'd say this hurts Jiggs and Mewtwo's chances more than Lucario. Ivy, Squirt, and Char(too lazy to right it all out) are all first gen. And i'm sure all the pokemon aren't going to be from the first gen.
