Yeah it's been pretty difficult to free up time for the legion these past few weeks, what with QD's gamejam, Cape staying over, and everything else I was telling you about last night. I really wished you guys could've come over here though because I would've liked Gray to have been there.
I could have but it would have only been me. Chuck couldn't leave because the cable guy was coming on Saturday (not that he ever leaves Westminster anyway :p), and Waffle can't realistically be expected to make the drive to VA (though sadly he had to bail due to other circumstances).

I saw. I was feeling the Sneak love in the P:M thread as well. The Melee style of play finally seems to have more or less 'clicked' with me (except I keep forgetting to multishine and shinegrab and I really need to break the bad habit of blindly shieldgrabbing and WD out of shield instead). Mad excited to see what I can do when I can perfect my WD out of shield execution and learn to l-cancel my goddamn nairs >_<.

It's good to see all my recent practicing after I decided to just accept the game for what it is hasn't been going to waste though :).

Another thing I don't think you've been doing that you could practice is ledgehop double lasers.

Also come back to the damn backroom!

Oh awesome, "damn" isn't censored anymore!

so uh, anyone doing anything this weekend? It's my "weekend off" for brawl tournies. I'll be home chilling out. Unless you guys are doing something local, I'd be happy to tag along.

I just started practicing exactly that about a day before this weekend, but my first attempt wasn't exactly fruitful. Managed to do it in training about twice, so I kinda understand the feeling of doing it, but the movement forward from the ledge is obnoxiously subtle and pretty much any movement more than a millimeter forward leads to landing detection ****ing you, and moving too little (IE not at all) leads to an SD. I've been having a bit more success with ledgedrop lasers, but the timing is still annoyingly strict thanks to landing detection.

As for the backroom, I'd like to, but as I said before, I'm going to wait to re-apply until I become good. Like beating Plank's Sheik with one of my non-mains good.

Oh wait...

It doesn't seem like they need any more playtesters anyway, and I can't code worth ****.

Can't do anything this weekend as I have a mandatory work meeting this Saturday mid-day. I'm sure there's going to be something held this weekend though.

It didn't start out that way. I planned to stay home and celebrate with family + old school friends (QD and one of my other buddies Gray). I was hoping some of the legion would come down, but I know making the trip to VA would be hard for you are JCz mentioned earlier, and Bandit had to stay for the cable guy, which I didn't know at the time. But I asked QD if he wanted to come up, he was game, and everything else is history. There was no Gray, but he didn't even get back to QD on Sat like he was supposed to, which probably meant he was tied up for the day, and I could've celebrated with the folks on the actual day.

So yeah, very spur of the moment. I was hoping you would've shown up though, and was a bit sad to find out that you weren't :c.

Looks like not alot of people are going to be free this weekend though. Hopefully Waffle is game for next weekend, and I already know I'm good to go then as well. It'll be nice to have a chill weekend.

Also http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=291633. Lol P:M tier disscussion in a thread that's not the main P:M thread. A pretty lulzy read for anyone who's interested.

Well that's the thing. We've made it our goal to push everyone up to Melee high/top tier status, so everyone feels really good in the right hands. The problem with those guys is that they each only experience a few characters being played well, so they naturally think those individual characters are really good without seeing the big picture. I actually take their ranting as a testament to how well Project M is balanced so far.

lulz double post.

JCz what software did you use to make your bstrms? I'm getting sick of using premade ones because of the questionable quality of some of them and the lack of SIXTO and other good songs out there.

I used Audacity to do all the mp3 editing to get it to loop well, and then I used Dantarion's customsongmaker thing to convert them to bstrms. I'm not sure where it is, somewhere in Brawl Hacking.

I'm sure I can ask Dant himself.

But I have bigger news! I HAVE FINALLY VANQUISHED MAGUS...for the first time.

<3 Robo and heal beam.

EDIT: I recognize some of the Zeal NPC quotes in Zealous Entropy. Neato.

Robo da bess

I almost forgot, Tant's hosting a tourney next weekend. There will be a free Project M tourney (livestreamed) Friday night. I hope you all can make it. Turnout is looking really good.

And Bandit it's in Westminster so NO JOHNS! Come hang, play, do commentary, etc, Friday night at least.

I don't think we're smashing this weekend sadly. Maybe I can swing a quick stream with Bandit if he's up for it.

I'll livestream me beating Chrono Trigger, cause I'm right before the final battle. Just doing sidequests.

You know, once I got a character that could multiheal without using a dual tech (IE not that stupid ***** Marle), the game was actually kinda easy.

Only Robo and Frog can multiheal to my knowledge

I used ayla/frog/crono, because i almost take every turn as dual between Frog/Ayla

Crono ***** without anyone's help, plus he has life is someone dies

^Very true. I always found Ayla kind of useless though. My favorite team was always Magus/Robo/Crono. I always put Magus in the lead because he has the coolest run.

I told you it wasn't a hard game TH. Stock up on supplies for the last battle though because it is one of the looooongest last battles in any video game. The final boss seriously has like 20 forms, though you can save after the first 18 or so.

Drop Kick does about 2000-3000 per turn

Then Crono's confuse did about 1200

So I was racking up anywhere close to 4000 damage per turn, that makes things go by real fast. Need lots of full ethers for ayla though.

That's what I meant by a multihealer Tant. Marle CAN multiheal, but it's only as a dual tech with Crono (probably other characters too but I never really gave a **** enough to find out). I always make sure to have either Robo or Frog in my party. Usually Frog because he's a badass.

I was trying out Crono/Magus/Frog, but I'm kinda disappointed in Magus' lack of a strong dual tech with anyone. Frog's usually busy healing every turn, so I have to rely on strong single techs, which require me to burn ~20 MP per use if I want to break 1K damage. Maybe Dark Matter will make Magus worth it when I get it.

Crono/Robo/Frog make a pretty amazing team. They have some great dual techs including a super heal all tech for Robo/Frog. I'm just partial to Magus though.

Plus Magus spamming Dark Matter and Crono spamming Luminaire = goodbye everyone on the screen.
