Just realized i promised I'd go to tyler's baptism today

Facebook reminder reminded me, so i'll dq9 and start the game while there, time to charge the DS

i'm not going to any events right now up until keitaro's on the 25th, so i'm sure a couple of the next upcoming weekends will be good for it

I played about 45 mins so far

Just recruited Ivor and did some leveling, I'll probably power level to like 5-6 before continuing, since it won't take that long. I suppose the NPC's will gain levels too?

I won't spoil the story this time like i do for just about any other game I play. So far looks pretty fun. Can't wait.

NPCs don't gain levels but they aren't in your party for very long so it doesn't matter much. You don't really need to power level until you hit the Hexagon (a little) and the Wight Knight (a good bit).

So, next weekend, there's a Graphix Gaming tourney on Saturday. Also, I have free tickets to the MD state fair if anyone wants to go.

Wrong again, terrible for mult, terrible spawn system, OP'd guns, ******** KSs what was good about this?

Are you Sure you don't mean MW instead?
Yeah if you played ground war or team death match with a bunch of noob tubers and no team communication then I could see problems.

MW was better I'll admit that.

You're missing out man.

TH, I got a pruning knife :p And taken out of context, that would pretty much be the weirdest gloating statement ever.

I also got a pair of beast claws which I can actually use. Still have yet to get a rank 10 weapon.

Maybe you should start then <_<. It wouldn't be right to have Ganon but not Zelda (no, QD's AI teammate doesn't count. She sucks).

EDIT: **** YOU JCZ! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I would be even more angry if I didn't already know I could get one in a DLC quest...which'll take forever to get here.

I think I finally found a map that won't suck.

Ruby Ruins of Gloom Lv 99. Looking at the monsters on the first floor, the grotto calculator shows chances of both gem slimes and Platinum King Jewels.

Also, Luminary's Lore is perhaps the best attack in the game. It gives you gold rush, which doesn't cost MP, but gold instead. It costs 1000 gold to do an attack all attack that does 500+ damage. It's silly that the most worthless class gets one of the best scrolls ever.

Also, Luminary abilities are utterly hilarious. :p

How is that better than double Kaboomle? Only spells can be doubled, and any MP cost is negligible to Sages. Not to mention 500+ isn't great against a single target. I suppose you don't have to take turns setting it up to get that kind of damage, which is something. But only 1 character can have it.

Also, money is far more important not to waste than MP. ****ing chronocrystals...

So, you wanna play?
I didn't hang out with Kiki last night if that's any indication as to how busy I was. I probably would've joined though had I known more ahead of time; perhaps I'll do it next year.

I run my own FF league that drafts Labor Day night at 9pm. We're at 8 people so far with a few of the usuals taking their sweet *** time to sign up. If anyone is interested, I'd gladly open it up to you.

Head to Head league, 3 week playoffs, 2 divisions + 4 wild cards for playoffs. We draft:

QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, RB/WR/TE (flex spot), K, Team Defense, 3 D (3 defensive players), 5 BN

Custom Points System with no bonuses.

@TH

I played P:M with Brett on Tuesday night. There was some definitive rust, but my Zelda is still formidable. That's what happens when you specialize in a character that has no tech skill.

I know. I play Sonic :p

Now that I think of it, I have about 3 hours of free time, and I'm sick of grinding liquid metals. I think I'm going to bust out some P:M and actually practice for the first time in a long *** time.

Why are you grinding liquid metals at your level anyway?

Grind MKSes for good xp or legacy bosses for decent xp + orbs and mini medals. Slime Hill is only good for grinding low level vocations for skill points.

That's exactly what I'm doing :p. I maxed out all of the vocation trees except for Pally and Mage (which is what I'm working on now. Just need the +60 def, Forbearance, and +80 HP boost to max out Pally). Once I do that, I'll get started on power leveling.

Alright guys, time for a life check. Be honest, how long have you spent on DQ9? It's in the Battle Records.

Time spent playing: 178 hrs
Time spent in multiplayer: 74 hrs

I'm not sure if the time spent playing is completely accurate, as I very commonly just leave my DS running with the power cable plugged in if I need to do something else but plan to come back to it in the near future (read: 5 hours or less). I would imagine that the time spent with the DS on but not playing would count, but maybe it doesn't count when the game is paused and left on, which I do as well if there are enemies nearby.

You can't join other games until you beat the Wight Knight and the boss shortly after him.

btw TH, I just confirmed it doesn't count time when the DS lid is closed, but it does in menus.

Oh and Guy's actually joining us this weekend for once.

Then it's probably something like 10-12 hours inflated. I know I spent most of Saturday watching Heroes. I went through 7 episodes when I just wanted to get through three.

If Guy stops being poor and gets a job, he should get DQ9.

That's a good place to be stuck at (the dungeon during the 3rd town right?). You'll find creatures called Metal Slimes, which are hard to kill, but give tons of exp if you kill them. Don't worry, you won't be in danger from dying from them. Think of them like wild Abras.
