It's all about the mindset, mangz. If you believe it, it'll happen.

And if that doesn't work.. talk trash and pray that it works!

The exposure was enough. I'm gonna get more serious about this game

Also Chillin's old school melee stories are the best things ever

I'm not unhappy with my placing. I wish I had done better, but I didn't lose to anyone I shouldn't have, and I took a game from Vro on the stream in front of hundreds of people while playing super sloppy :p

Then I went like 8/8 in money matches and exposed literally every single PMBR member that was there (except for cmart who I didn't mm for obvious reasons), and all the BC guys except for Yakal who I didn't get to play.

Fest at our place tonight, anyone?

i only watched some of the matches so far but you're playing much better than you used to- which is great, since i don't feel that most players improve by any significant amount in the short term (less than 1 year). good job.

Thanks. I have been trying to put in the work. I still don't practice by myself (I just don't have the patience for that), but I usually play with people 2-3 times per week.

I still crack under pressure though. I watched my tourney match vs Vro and I made sooooo many dumb mistakes. I failed to sweetspot the edge like 90% of the time, which is something I never screw up in friendlies. I think the fact that it was on the livestream in from of like 700 people really got to me. That's the next thing I really need to overcome.

The crowd doesn't seem as much of an antagonist when you can get them on your side.

Two things:
1. I'm bringing Geoff over in two Wednesdays. (8/29)

2. If I park my car at your place, can we pool to Chu's?

Thanks, that was a really good game right down to the end. That **** woulda brought the hype if it was on the livestream.

On the way to FC we talked about Sleeping Dogs and such and I told you I'd let you know how it is, JCz.

Well, after playing about a week of it (haven't finished it yet, doing a lot of the side missions mainly) I have to say, it's surprisingly good. I mean, at first, a lot of things are pretty jarring (the combat, the vehicle controls) but once you actually start learning more combos and get adjusted to how the driving looks, it becomes a ton more fun.

I'm not sure if I could play any other sandbox/open world game without the same styled melee system as Sleeping Dogs (I mean I could still play JC2 but something like GTA... that I don't know). It feels so good and satisfying, even if it is just Batman-esque.

There aren't even really any duplicate missions (except for ones that literally say "Part 2", meaning a continuation of a mission but you're doing the same thing). And the missions are all pretty fun and varied.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of buildings you can go inside of. Also, the environmental objects you can use to kill people aren't... as common as they should be. Most fights I find myself just using the combos to kill people rather than running the risk of trying to grab someone and put them in a dumpster or something. (Sometimes some enemies can just dodge your grab and punish you heavily).

Basically, it's a game you have to sit down and play for a lot longer than an hour or so in order to start enjoying it. I'd recommend trying to get it when you can whenever there's a deal for it. (I got mine for $33 from GreenManGaming as a pre-order, I thought it was a pretty good deal considering it just got released).

So, yeah, check it out when you can JCz.

Edit: Oh and the story's pretty good too (haven't finished it so I can't say how good it'll actually be in the end, just what I've played up to so far is good).

Edit 2: I hope JC2 MP has a beta test this weekend, would love to get on there and see how the guns are now that they're synced, we'll have to do itttt, JCz.

Cool, sounds interesting. I have a ton of games to play right now thanks to the Steam Summer Sale (and Borderlands 2 comes out in a month) but I'll probably pick it up eventually on a Steam sale. GTA IV was such a huge disappointment and I'd love to find a game that recaptures the magic of San Andreas.

Edit: Yeah I'm def up for the next JC2 MP beta test, whenever that is.

fyi, The Big House 2 had to cap PM at 32 entrants but also raised the entrance fee to give more prize incentive. I'm still planning to go as long as I can get transportation to work out.

My residence is now the University of Maryland.

Hoping College Park makes me a little more area accessable to the scene.

Edit: Apparently I misunderstood. Huh.
(I still don't have a car, this is why I don't look into these things)

So CTL what magic is required to make it to JCs from UMCP.

Best thing I can think of is the commuter bus that goes to Columbia Mall. Even so, it's still a 10-minute drive to JC's, but perhaps one of us would be more willing to pick you up.

That actually sounds pretty great. I'll still need transportation aid but it certainly means I'll be able to pop by more often (aka more than once ever) if you guys love me enough to get me <3

If you come on a weekday, you can take the MARC to Savage, which is <5 minutes from our house. 9K actually walks to our place from there.

If you don't mind a $5 fare + a 30-minute~ long walk, then transportation to their place shouldn't be an issue. Granted, you'll need a ride back to CP, but both JCz and cmart are usually (reluctantly) up for chauffeuring car-less bums like us around at nighttime. If you'd like, we could link up at the CP metro station so I can escort you there.

EDIT: Just PM me whenever you're free so I can assist / get a free ride.

So, Lindsey Stirling, Tuesday September 25th, 6:30, tickets are $17, who's in? We should get them early since it's probably going to sell out.

Most weekends are good, just let us know when you're free. And there's a tourney on the 15th.

Erm.. Perhaps someone could help me out real quick. (I would post in p:m thread but it moves too quickly) anyway. Perhaps I'm missing something but! Is there something wrong with dreamlands song(gourmet race)? Everytime I put a custom song over it, after about a minute it cuts out and plays a static noise and gets quite and changes to another song I have on another stage. Anyone else have this issue?

Edit: it appears my smashville seems to of gone mad too. It will play the song for about 30 seconds ~ and then turns into this insanely loud static noise. Is it the custom song is broken? Or other..
