Won't be able to hang out today, need to finish a whole bunch of schoolwork. Sorry :(

Also looks like it'll storm today. =/

And lol at TH's nicknames. That crit EQ against me sucked, though, and it saddens me that Klinklang is useless. If only trollfreak gave it EQ and/or wild charge.

:ohwell: Oh well

For whoever does come, we're hanging out at Bandit's house. It should be fine to come over whenever but give one of us a heads up before you come.

Waffle I still have your DS charger btw. Speaking of DS, can I buy DQ5 from you yet? :awesome: I've been itching to play it.

Ahahahaha @ TH's names

Just an FYI, Dragonite leads are some of the gayest **** ever. So many people just hit the forfeit button when i start PAR'ing all their pokes
I've never seen anyone use Dragonite as a lead before (I'm very familiar with the set you use, just not as a lead), and honestly that thing terrifies me more than Heatran does. Without Stealth Rock out to negate Multiscale, I don't think I can take it out without suffering a huge hit to my team.

@JCz I probably won't be showing up until 5-6ish. The only time I could get a haircut today at a reasonable time is at 2:45 and I have to drive all the way to Springfield which'll make the trip about 20-30 minutes longer than it usually is.

252 sp.atk.8 HP and 248 speed

8hp gives him 301 which lives 3 nightshade/seismic toss

I might put more into HP later on though and leave him timid nature

I use yache berry to beat people who use ice beam

Hey cmart, due to a plethora of reasons (sorry, I've been watching our recorded stream :p) I won't be able to train at all this week. I'll be free this weekend though, at least on Saturday.

Oh hey it's alright. We play a lot anyway. I'm free as well on sat for whatever we want to do, and I'll be seeing the O's play [and hopefully win this time] on sun with some coworkers.

Been busy lately, what with it being spring break for non-college people. A lot of people either have extended family visiting or are going on vacation with their family. I have to work six days this week on top of classes, so it's been pretty stressful and I don't have a ton of time to do testing. I might not even be able to make it to any legionfest over the weekend because I have a 10-12 page essay due on the 26th and it looks like I won't have enough time to get it done during the week unless I get lucky.

I have been able to examine the team though during my free time at work. The defensive synergy is alright, not as bad as I was expecting. The problem isn't with the type of Pokemon, but with the quality of of the Pokemon. Namely, it comes back to how much of a huge waste of space Klinklang is and how little he brings to the table both offensively and defensively.

And I don't usually trash lower tiered Pokemon. I've used stuff like Cacturne to great effect in OU. I honestly have never seriously used a more worthless Pokemon than Klinklang.

Oh, sorry to bother you then. Classes at this time of the year do suck. Got several projects and stuff I need to finish myself.

Also, that's rather harsh for poor Klinklang. Was really looking forward to using him, didn't realize he'd be that useless. Aw well, maybe gray will be kind to him(probably not).

If Klinklang needs to be taken out back and put to a flamethrower, go do it. I'd happily replace him with someone else.

How do you feel about Gengar? I was looking through your list of Pokemon that you wanted to use and came up with a decent core between Ferrothorn and Terrakion. The only weaknesses not covered were fighting and ground, which Thundrus covered by left a pretty gaping weakness to Ice. Gengar gives an immunity to both of them without giving him a weakness to ice, and all of its weaknesses are covered by the former two. The Pursuit weakness can be mitigated by running a sub set. On paper this seems pretty solid: every team member can provide something offensively (Gengar, Terrakion) or defensively (Ferrothorn). Ferrothorn also provides entry hazards and even Thunder Wave should you opt to run some slow sweepers (making Thundrus not needing to run Twave to counter fast threats so we can take him back to a NP set...not that the team is painstakingly slow anymore between Gengar, Terrakion, and potentially Thundrus).

The other 3-2 slots I haven't decided what to do with yet other than I need to figure out Pokemon that can deal with weather well (DD Kingdra is my first choice. Abuses rain teams and vanilla DD is still very useful even in other weather since Water is SE against both Fire and Rock/Ground, and Hail is jokes). But we'll see what happens.

So wait, the current team would be Gengar, Terrakion, Ferrothorn, and Thundurus?

What about my Oh Jaezus, my Moses? :(

As for Gengar himself, I've never really used him too much, but I'm willing to try.

Well, if ferrothorn is too gay for your tastes, there's always bronzong. The only reason I'd use bronzong over ferrothorn, though, is if I were to run a dual screen Bronzong. Ferrothorn has better health, defense, equal special defense, better attack, and lower speed(making for stronger Gyro balls) than bronzong. It's better in several aspects. The only thing Bronzong has over Ferrothorn is that Bronzong will always have one weakness, be it ground or fire, while ferrothorn has 2, one of those being a 4x weakness to fire.

Bronzong is awesome. I put a Bronzong in my party when I was playing through Diamond solely because they were by far the most annoying enemies to fight in that game.

a lot of people are telling me I should play BW. I told a lot of people I'd never play gen 5 because it looked too stupid, but now I'm considering it. I'm mostly holding out at this point out of spite.

Someone convince me to play or to not play the new games. before anyone asks, I have no interest in any of the new pokemon sans haxorus.

Max, my team is almost all gen 4 stuff

Zapdos/Dragonite/Salamence/Chomp/Machamp are still beasts, and Chansey and Dusclops and Porygon2 are now completely viable.

Also newly viable is politoed, ninetales (for auto weather)

One pokemon you probably will like new gen (despite what you think now) is Excadrill. Basically this gen's Lucario. He gets double speed in sandstorm and can learn eq, rock slide, and swords dance. They also have a new hold item called air balloon which makes you immune to ground moves until you get hit once, which basically means the only way he gets 1hko'd without you being prepared for it is mach punch.

yeah i don't really want to change anything on my team.it's just so legit i'd rather change the spreads than the pokes themselves. atm it's gyarados salamence heatran garchomp tyranitar metagross, no particular order.

****ing boss song
all link me to that awesome ff battle theme medley again...i needs it

at everyone else - ferrathorn is so abused in current meta everyone runs 2 counters for it, also its very predictable. its gyro ball is *** so thats not a valid point. the only thing it can do is spike seed. bronzong is much better and more seldom used, can switch into eq's, can wall most common threats, and is just cooler looking than a spiky green fetus.

@ umbreon - black and white was decent but all and all, youll only enjoy it if you wanna play through slightly different version of every pokemon game before.
pros - new pokes are ****y and hilarious
- haxdrag
- hm are downplayed

cons - stupid *** pokes
- attempted philosophical discussions about pokemon
- same ol game

Waffle I'll see if I can find that song for you.

Meanwhile, have you guys heard of Lisa Foiles? She's a ridiculously hot and actually pretty funny gamer chick who does segments on the Escapist (where Zero Punctuation is). Check it out. She even uses the sad music from Scrubs at one point (budududuh, duh, duh, duh, duuuuuuuh ... budududuh, duh, duh, duh, duuuuuuuh).

Also, I put up some of our matches from last weekend, particularly the ones with commentary. It's great stuff.

TH btw, in the Falco vs Zelda matchup on FD, we were tied down to the percent except you tagged Zelda with a desperation laser as you fell to your death on your last stock and ended up winning by 3% :p

I love Ferrothorn in my metagame. Means I get a free switch to Charizard/Ninetales/Hydreigon/Victreebel/Scizor (5/6ths of my goddamn team lol) and either do huge damage or set up sun. I usually don't like killing it on the opposing team for that reason alone.

Also I'm gonna step up for Ferrothorn and say it's cooler looking than the entirety of Kaiser's team bar Hydreigon. Also Ferrothorn is just fun so say and is a baller sounding name.

But there are a billion other grass types I would use before it.

Hahaha so we did. Next time I'll know to just DI towards the stage, because getting CG'd till 70 is better than getting CG -> kicked at 50% and auto-dying.

You know, because I know that I'll get grabbed :p.

infernape was used first as a mixed sweeper, then as a lead. when i found metagross to be a better lead, i couldn't justify using it over heatran. as far as I know, the only pokemon I can transfer to 5th gen and still expect them to be OU material are my gyarados and garchomp, seen here:

Sooo many matches.... I'm impressed you got this many edited and uploaded so quickly.

Oh and I showed Kick-*** to some of my friends and we had some interesting discussions about the cultural impact and subtext of the film (we didn't all like it, we had some pretty diverse reactions). So psyched for the sequel.

1301 points on the ladder. Rank 328 (out of like 4000-something) and my only loss in recent memory was to someone who trapped me with Shadow Tag Gothelite out of nowhere. I had one really close game with as my last match, and I wish I saved the log cause the match came down to the wire (but Victreebel pulled through. What a ****ing boss).

Upgrading Count Kaiser's team to Boss Kaiser (the one with the core of Gengar/Ferrothorn/Terrakion) after I try out CM Reuniclus on his normal team :p. I'm getting stuck on the rank 2000-somethings with the Count Kaiser team though, so I may have to scrap it altogether (hence the Boss Kaiser team).

EDIT: and wouldn't you know it. First match of the night is a Rain team. This is going to hurt.

EDIT 2: 5-0'd. And turns out Count Kaiser is rank 3471. Goddamnit Guy.

EDIT 3: Final standings for Count Kaiser's team before I got absolutely fed up with it.

Player Name: Count Kaiser
Rank: 5039
Points: 1075

I swear I could not be this ineffective if I tried. I don't understand how a team with the most standard sets in the world just...fell apart this badly. I thought it was a solid team on paper.

Don't fret though, my good buddy. I'm just going to upgrade your team to Boss Kaiser mode. Let's see how that fares on the ladder.

EDIT #4: Apparently I'm SUPER wrong about the number of people there are. I checked after a few games and there are over 13,200 dudes registered at least O_O.

Sooo many matches.... I'm impressed you got this many edited and uploaded so quickly.

What? You mean there's people out there that didn't absolutely love Kick-***?

standards dont win games, you need to be above the standard. surprise movesets and roles will throw people off balance, and overpowering movesets will give them no options.

TH, tbh I don't think anyone disliked Kick-*** as a movie. It just presents some complex questions, and some of my friends didn't particularly like the conclusions they drew from the film. Any movie that generates such interesting discussion can't be bad imo.

Also the fact that I saw it on Sun and owned it a day later is a testament to how much I love the film.
