Tako I think I'm gonna bring my nikyuu practice test next week. I want to see if you would actually be able to pass the reading (it's near impossible). That's so BS all you have to do is take the TOEFL.

Fridays would be awesome except they are tournament days, so we're normally travelling anyway. Kinda defeats the purpose of a smashfest. XD

LMAOOOOOOO @ ybm
(i don't even trust myself lol, i'd be too focused on improving my game), not to mention there's simply too much -- in any given day i'm liable to have anywhere from 4-5 hrs of hw (~1-1.5 hr calc, ~1-1.5 hr physics, ~1 hr english, ~0.5 hr govt, ~0.5 hr engineering) : ( i mean, i could probably just try and do a whole bunch of homework ahead and stuff on a tuesday once, if i have easy stuff but then parents would force me to do college applications XD not that i mind...it's important /shrug so i guess the sooner i get college things done the sooner i get to these. marching band finishing would be another important factor too.
15-30 mins statistics
30 mins calculus
30-60 mins english
30-60 mins US history
30 mins physics
0mins econ

This is a VERY BUSY day for me. All of those are AP. IDK what you're classes are like, but half the time I won't have homework in a few subjects.

Save those posts. When you're 23 and have high level college under your belt, you'll look at them and slap yourself. Hell, I had EASY college stuff and I'm laughing =P

It's mostly all the wasted time sitting around in school doing nothing. Just use as much of that time as you can.

haha i should probably do homework while the teachers are talking, i guess...i might need lessons in english from you, OS; i'm bad at writing timed essays

@bob: i have hw every day in every single class save maybe Engineering and Government...english isn't my forte (especially since i like to read out of enjoyment and not really analysis [though analysis could possibly expand my enjoyment of several if not all works]). i'm not that good at physics either and it's really hard when you have a teacher who is bad at explaining (he's really smart though, so it's not like he's an idiot) and has a language barrier, not to mention that it's calculus based and each problem is very situational in terms of which equations you use so i have to spend a lot of time figuring out stuff. calc is just a lot of busy work...very tedious : (
idk, maybe i'm just trying too hard

hehe... In High School, we had a new teacher for physics. She was only put in physics because we had a shortage of science teachers, not because she was qualified for it. She left the room crying because our questions were "too hard" once.

What kind of high-school teaches Physics C? I'm taking Physics B, AP version, because most people in Indian Hill take Calculus until senior year.

In that case, I can't really talk about physics.

OS, most of the time I don't do homework.

m2k is WHITE AND plays METAKNIGHT. Think about it.

maybe we should just stick to wednesday? I dunno

also, my high school was a lot harder and more stressful than college. College is easy.

It's easier if you take easy classes and go into an easy major, cause you have lots of free time.

If you major in something like pharmacy then it is much harder. My major, actuarial science, is much harder.

Ooh~!! I'm fine with Wednesdays too! They are easier, but I'm up with whatever anyone decides!!

Yeah! That makes sense! Harder classes can equal a harder time, I'm sure! >~<! I guess it depends on the classes really, but I know timing and scheduling everything can make a big difference!

Engineering =/= easy major. I still found it easier first year. I spent most of that year playing Halo and D&D. :)

Part of the problem with high school is that, because you're in the same classes every day, the teachers can and do assign nightly homework. Not so with college. Usually they give you weekly assignments, which are much easier to work around provided you're good at managing your time.

I never said engineering was easy. The fact that you have to manage your time is what makes it harder. Lots of people drop out from majors like engineering because they think they don't have to study on a nightly basis (which for that major, is necessary) and then proceed to fail the tests.

I will continue to argue my points on this because I feel strongly about it!

Respectfully of course.

@Today: At UC it's a pretty great program, though I took time off school after third year though and haven't finished yet. :O

I will be doing so in 2011, however. :)

@Count: I'm going to be honest here... first year I skipped some of my classes about half the time. I certainly did not study on a nightly basis. I also made the Dean's List and Honors all three quarters while doing so. :O

Now, this obviously isn't true later in the program... but yeah, that's my experience. Not that I would ever encourage Chi to approach things the same way I did. When things got harder I was out of the regular habit of studying so I missed a lot of sleep to stay caught up. Until you've experienced it, it's really hard to understand how badly lack of sleep can mess you up... but let me tell you, it's not fun. Thus the time off school. :dizzy:

@Doctor Ooh!! Only two more years!! I wish you the best of luck, ye~! And you must have been really good..! Congratulations on all of your successes! I also wish Chi good luck~! >~<! I'm sure he'll do well! I just wish he didn't stress himself out so much..!

Then its a possibility that you're just extremely intelligent. That's awesome. For the average student though, those classes are hard. I basically got straight A's in high school but here I have like a 3.5, and its getting really hard. Also, for me freshman year was mainly 'core' classes, which is like the classes Butler makes me take because they're liberal and stupid.

But in my experiences for people that aren't amazingly smart (which it appears the case is for you) then college is much harder than high school. I didn't study in high school; now its all I do.

And play brawl ^_^

I'm no genius as far as I know. In fact, your grades are better than mine. I've a 3.2 right now. Part of that is from poor studying habits from first year as previously mentioned, but still. >.<
