SSB64 wins by default for requiring some of the thinking of Brawl, having better combos than Melee, and having just enough tech skill (z cancelling) without being ******** about it (wavedashing).

And it's the most balanced, and has the best stage ever created. Woot woot.

I don't know if I'm driving to Athens this weekend for the tournament. My parents are going out of town and it's a longer drive which means more convincing them that I'm not going to crash and die. So I'm either looking for a ride or just missing this one most likely.

If you think wavedashing is hard never play any Street Fighter, because apparently quarter circles are hard.

Silly? How so?
Maybe it's just me, but I really prefer moving horizontally on the stage with the control stick, not with the control stick, the jump button, AND the L/R button. Sure, it's better for competitive play, but the fact that you need three buttons to move horizontally in order to be good... enjoy yourself, I'll be playing Brawl and 64.

(The above paragraph is, regretably, filled with large amounts of opinion)

Wavedashing wasn't really used to move horizontally across the stage or anything like that. It was used for mindgames and some extra mobility. The way you make it sound, you should be using dash dancing more.

The only characters that really used it a lot were Falco/Fox, and I guess sometimes marth. You also didn't NEED wavedashing to good. It was just a really useful technique. I don't remember many Falcon/Sheik/Peach players using it so much, cause their's sucked.

It always just seemed like I couldn't get good at Melee because of how much I disliked wavedashing. It kind of ruined the game for me.

Maybe I should pick up Peach or Sheik and try it again... my Melee data recently got corrupted though... DAMMIT. XD

You kind find ways around not wavedashing. The AT just kinda made things convenient for spacing, edgehogs, etc.

Not opinion. Misinformation, no offense. Quivo already explained a bit. Don't worry, though, you're not alone. Most people who "dislike" wavedashing don't really know anything about its applications.

As for the "dislike" itself... I never really understood the reasoning behind it. It's just an airdodge into the ground, nothing more. You're not communing with infernal powers or anything..

Edit: @FreshDaddyNormand: I do still have your chairs. Rather my roomates have them in the basement.

Ed if you aren't busy tonight I'm free to play. I'm gonna be going up to Kenwood soon so I could stop by your place afterward if you wanna play.

lol alright I'll be over a bit later. Hopefully the door downstairs is unlocked cuz I don't have a cell phone.

I have to go check at my old job first and then I'm going over to my grandma's for a bit.
