well you could just try it. execute the same changrab you normally do with falco, except use Sheild grab instead of Z to grab.

if you dont beleive me, i could care less, I'm just trying to help a falco out =)
Im not doubting you, its just generally accepted that no video means it didnt happen. I will try it out, if it makes such a difference like that....it could really help us protect our bread.

you should be able to acheive more chain grabs if you utilize buffered sheild grabs. I tested it on a friend DI'ing with DDD.

while using the down throw dash forwar/hold forward into Z grab, i was able to chain grab DDD up to 60% even with him doing everything to get out of it.

While using a Sheild grab instead of the Z button in the same technique. i was able to chain grab DDD up to 120% and he was unable to escape with DI and anything else that he tried.

Also, i know it is possible to chain grab Donkey kong in place up to a pretty high percent just by holding the directional stick forward and grabbing after a down throw.

just thought i would share out test results.
When i walk CG DK, he can usually use his up b to get out.
If by in place you mean falco not moving at all? I doubt that he could do that past like 45%, but you may be right.

its not actually a walk cg, you just stand still and hold forward on the directional stick when you grab him. it doesent actually look like faclo is in grab range at all.. but it just grabs dk anyway.

im not sure how high the cg goes. i'll have to test it and make a video sumtime.

Has anybody noticed that the Boost Grab can be used to grab further ? That could help to get one more...

Also, i just noticed that the chaingrab was maybe techable, like others chaingrabs... Can someone try this ? A Pikachu CPU did it once to me.

Can you boost pivot inverse grab (reverse boost grab) at any percent as long as the regularchaingrab is still inescapable?

Snake can escape Falco's chaingrab by pulling out his grenades. After he pulls them out, you can pull off 2 more grabs

Blad, if your not updating it, would you mind me re-creating the thread, given credit to you and continue updating from there?

If not, its cool.

I wish someone who has a willing partner would seriously determine what percentage work for what characters...

Also, it would be good to know what %'s (if any) you can follow up with a Dair or Dash Attack.

I generally just kind of "feel" it out as to what I should follow up with, but it would be nice to know what follow-ups are guaranteed.

how come theres is nothin in here about drill chains and stuff

throw shd-air turn around throw repeat...it works if the opponent doesnt roll away...most of them try to neutral a combo or shield

Olimar seems impossible to CG, or I'd have to adjust my whole timing, cuz it seems that he dodges more easy than other characters.

Aha! This is the kind of question I had. I'm glad I found this topic before looking stupid. If you guys are wondering about Ness, he pretty much can't be chaingrabbed by Falco. But I came in here to see who has a hard time escaping these. I mean I guess Ness can be chaingrabbed by Falco, but everytime I tried it, Ness would just escape. So thanks. I'm thinking of using Falco as an alternative.

I am positive that Zelda can't be chaingrabbed even once. I like to follow up with nair>ftilt or uptilt depending on DI. A boosted pivot grab works well also.

Can someone test this on Wario? I have noticed times where Wario flies up and towards Falco after a Dthrow and sometimes I can't get Wario to move very far even with good DI. Are there variables to a characters flight path other than DI and Stale Moves?

Could some1 explain me why some ppl after Dthrow get behind the opponent and then grab? What's the advantage except from (in some cases) being closer to the edge?

(There's no other advantage)

Ok, i would liker to know something : Did someone really tried to tech Falco down-throw ? Seriously, a CPU did it to me, so could someone try ? I can't today.

Ill try it Blad, but seriously, surely you could only tech in between hitting the floor and getting hit by lasers? It'd be insanely hard.

Teching Falco's chaingrab would require some mad timing...

And also, would Wi-fi be acceptable to test Falco's chaingrab (what with button lag)?

Edit: Stupid question lol. I just re-read the OP. Ignore that >_>

For people who are trying this out, you need to make sure you use the WALKING GRAB and not the dash grab. The walking grab is a little faster, and you only need to take about half a step to reach people at low %s.

if no one one the falco boards really knows for some character the CG works as usual you could always create a thread on the character boards we're unshure of to ask them how they get out of the CG.

I've tested it with the chaingrab against a falco, and dair and air dodge at 45% seemed to counter it, don't know how many times though, probably 4?

I know that probably no one cares but i've found that a good way to set-up the spike at the end of a CG is to use a F-throw. A pivot grab B-throw would also be effective but sadly i cannot manage to pull it off.... :( So just figured id add that and if anyone has any tips for pivoting during a chaingrab it'd be greatly appreciated

Huh? Ending it with an fthrow->spike instead of a dthrow->spike?

Is fthrow->dair guaranteed if you do it right? Ending with another dthrow to either dair to usmash or gatling seem to be the best options, what would fthrow and bthrow get you that dthrow does not?

Marth can escape it from 0 with up-b, and you'll take damage. Don't try to re-grab him, feint a dash and then wait to see if he up-b's and then punish accordingly. Ahh, the mindgames.

I've heard rumors that MK can break the CG on the 2nd throw by Uairing. (i think it only gets you out if you have controller port priority)

2 extra percent on the throw and a ruined follow-up attack lol

Controller has nothing to do with it as far as I know. MK cannot escape a perfect CG.

Big update. I won't test anything anymore, so please tell me what is wrong, and give me your results for the "unknown" fields.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I cannot chaingrab (running, at least) ZSS. DownB escaped everytime.

Good update.

I found out you can do a stand still CG on some of the characters with low knock back like fox. Got 3 throws in doing that. Helps when you suck at boosted grab =P

Can all this data on Chaingrabbing be applied to Reverse Boost Pivot Grabbing? Since it is impossible to dash chaingrab samus does it mean you cannot chain reverse boost pivot grabs against Samus. That kind of application is what I mean.
