It's right after Thanksgiving weekend and it's a slow news week on top of that. The thread was good last week, just be patient.

I may potentially have a job now thanks to one of my friends. I did the most impromptu interview of my life and somehow managed to get a second tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well. I hate being poor.

I'm ready for this semester to end. Things are busy, but it's getting progressively better.

Now all I need is a boyfriend.

I realized professors can be ****ing ****holes.

So far,

Two As
One B
One C

Hopefully I can have them all at three As and one B by the end of the year.

I did about 3 years of french, but was not fluent enough really do much more than pick out vague words. I think if I put in more effort while learning new things, it would have turned out better. Like literally listening to french music and talks, watching movies, reading books, etc. None of that I'll study for about 40 minutes a day and be done doing the minimum work. I should have really immersed myself in the stuff instead of some half-arsed attempt to learn a language.

Good luck learning a new language, you should really immerse yourself in it the best you can. Something ridiculous like 50% of your day doing something with it.

mines has had its ups and down. academically it's been pretty nice(probably will graduate in about a year regardless if i take a minor or not). but outside of school its been hectic. breaking up w/ my boyfriend over and over again, being poor, and not having time to exercise for the past 4 months is really draining...

I'm sad because I'm pretty sure the guy I've been interested in just wants to be friends :(

Also not in school, but I start working full-time next week. Finally, I can move out soon!

Japanese 5 is killing me with all the work that comes with it. But I'm getting quite good at talking~
Japanese :D. I'm maybe going to study for a Japanese language and culture major. Still not sure though because Chinese sounds incredibly interesting too. D:

Definitely. Learning to use a language proficiently requires hard work. I really like language studies though and I am quite confident at them. My best subjects are (in this order) French, English and German. :p

I can't possibly understand why your best language would be French ;p

I think I have access to a really good opportunity to learn a language at my campus. Some 80+ languages are offered here (even at one time a language for lord of the rings in elvish). But, with two majors I'm working with in math/physics, I am not sure if I would have enough time to commit to a language very well. Even if I did, I might regret spending so much time with it. I suppose if I have an easy semester at some point I'll give it a shot.

You're learning japanese?
Man, give me that when you're done, bro.
でも。。。あなたが日本語を弁勉強するなくちゃ行けません。 そして、俺は下手な先生だ :S 時々、俺は日本語を話す下手そうです。

I don't think I can necessarily ~give~ you my japanese ability D:

Approx how much Kanji do you have memorized so far? I'm year 3
and I only have about 30 down...
Umm... Lets see... Maybe 40ish give or take.

Totally study Japanese! It's a fun language ^_^

And

I couldn't agree more, Language is such a difficult undertaking, yet I love every step of the way.

I'm taking Japanese next semester, I'm really excited. I wasn't a huge fan of Spanish when I took it in high school, but I'm not that interested in the language, I only took it because I had to, and Italian and French weren't that interesting to me either, where I'm actually interested in learning Japanese.

I figured it was the lack of floral arrangements and gay sex that made the place withered and sick.

@Zwarm

That attitude will get you far in the language. It really is fun to learn. I remember I always got D's in spanish but when I took Japanese I got B's (never did homework-- stfu!) ;D

I have a tournament too, but I don't expect attendance to be too big.

My you all draw many Stitch faces & bob-ombs, and aim at your opponent true.

First weekend of the month always seems to be the day tournaments are held.

I have one as well today. And most of the competition seems to be gone too lol
That's because I'm hosting a tournament in IL today, and we were like, half the attendence last IMDB, lol.

Hoping to pull out my Peach today, I haven't been able to as much lately.
