If people don't start saying Eddie G, stick to KB, or at least space King Beef properly...I'm going to punch a baby. The cutest, most innocent baby you can imagine.
You monster! Next you'll be...I don't know, kicking fairies or killing stars or something!...
...wait a sec

Saturated Fat intake has no correlation with heart disease
I...have great difficulty believing this. I had a lecture the other day and one of the subjects that cropped up was momentarily on saturated fats and heart disease and I'm almost positive she (the lecturer) said that it's been proved that there is a link but I will have to double check - it was a lecture mainly on Cancer and not specifically fats/heart disease, maybe I've got the two the wrong way round or got something wrong. I can try asking her at some point

Even if there isn't a link, a high fat diet doesn't do you any favours when it comes to your risk of developing cancer (and multiple ones at that if my notes do not lie)

A few of the things you said made me raise an eyebrow but yes, cutting out refined sugars/swapping fizzy drinks for water/increasing vegetable intake/doing more exercise is the way to go so nice blog, good on you and bravo on your weight loss though, it's an excellent achievement

Stop using up your 2nd jump too

My cholesterol has dropped significantly and I've had a ton of saturated fat over the last four months :) I can provide tons of references for it and my personal experience backs it up...like I said, watch "Fat Head", good documentary and experiment on it (but watch the whole thing, the first half is like a personal vendetta against Supersize Me).

Also, I stopped using my second jump because BACON.

I agreed that (some) fats are not bad for people and commended you on taking interest on improving your diet, however I completely disagree with the choice of foods you are eating overall.
Definitely not a diet for me, nor one I would suggest to anyone. But there are nuggets of information that I believe to be important in regards to diet. In general I just tell people to eat plenty of fresh, natural, raw fruits & veggies along with enough water, sleep, and sunlight and that alone would greatly improve nearly everyone's diet X^]
I actually really do feel meat is rather healthy for the human body. I can understand a philosophical opposition, and also a concern with the quality of meat- i.e. fillers, hormones, etc. But I think locally grown grass-fed beef is extremely nutritious and a steak-and-eggs-heavy-diet is healthy.

Objecting to a steak-and-eggs-heavy-diet on the grounds that it encourages poor treatment of the animals, on the other hand, is an entirely different topic.

On a TMI note, I was freaking out that my pee smelled funny all day today. I started googling it and, in a typical "internet doctoring" fashion was quickly freaking out even more (kidney infection, bladder infection, a hundred other diseases!).

Then I stumbled on a poster pointing out that asparagus does this, and I realized I had bacon wrapped olive oil drizzled asparagus for both dinner last night and lunch today.

Oh.

Yes, meat can be healthy for the human body - for instance if you are starving to death then eating a fish is much healthier than dying of starvation.
But I don't like that argument, because it's the same argument can be heard from cigarette addicts; there are health benefits to smoking which justifies any health problems that could be connected and thus rationalizes their belief in their addiction.
I also agree, tobacco can have health benefits when smoked. But it is that same argument that fails to get me to smoke cigarettes as is the same one that is not getting me to eat meat. If a higher fat intake is healthy it seems better to consume medium chain fatty lipids from such sources as coconut and palm oil. Of course avocado and many other fatty fruits/veggies are amazing as well. So it seems like animal fats are more of a personal preference, and it would come down more to other factors, like a few other points you've touched on.
Yes, free trade, local, free-range, (non-toxic fertilizer) grass-fed, cruelty-free, no-hormone, no-antibiotics, non-irradiated, prion-free, kosher steak-and-eggs heavy diet is much better than 99.99999% of the meat on the market, but the amount of effort, time, and money spent in acquiring that is a quest unto itself.
For myself, personally, I don't have much time or money so I'll invest my effort into eating organic vegetables, as they are both more affordable and ubiquitous.

Objecting to a steak-and-eggs-heavy-diet on the grounds that it encourages poor treatment of the animals, on the other hand, is an entirely different topic.
Yes, it is a different topic, but nobody else is bringing morality into the subject. I don't know why you've gone back to it. Yes, the slaughter of animals isn't very well accepted nowadays, and the treatment of animals in meat industries itself has been reason enough for more people to cut meat out of their diet. But just because I adhere to what is well described as a vegan lifestyle does not mean that I am not eating animals solely because of ethical concerns, that is just one of many reasons for my diet. I don't cherry pick reasons for a decision, I like to take into consideration of all of them: Health, ethics, economics, ecology, psychological, subtle physiological, spiritual, or anything really.

It's not a good comparison to tobacco at all. Meat and eggs have tons of the good fats and proteins the body needs. Yeah, lots of meat are made unhealthy by processing, but that's true of lots of fruits/vegetables as well. It's the additives that make it bad, not the meat! Wild caught meats especially are fine.

Worth noting that I am heavy on coconut and olive oil and avocado, and agree there. Getting fats from vegetable sources and meats are both viable options, and in both cases you have to deal with additives, processing, pesticides/hormones, etc.

Hi Peachkid!! Long time no see :) I was just talking to airge the other day and he said I should stop by. I've actually been playing Smash a bit more lately, so I think I'll stay around for a while. Two weeks ago I went to my first tournament in a while, and for the first time in my life I beat Hunger.

I'm very stressed for finals blrrrghhh

Yeah it was! I didn't enter the tournament since I had to go early so it was only a money match, but it was $5 so I guess it's still kind of good lol.
Yeah $5+ counts according to our PR, so that's good for you, haha. When are you gonna be home from school? We have a tournament next weekend on the 12th that's turning out to be a regional, hope you can make it, I miss you man.

The vegan talk is gone? I guess I'll come back. <_<

At the next national all the peach mains should get together and race each other while wearing high heels. To know who's the quickest in heels of course. :3
