I'm just saying Ken at his best was better then M2K before he reached his full potential. No need for anymore arbitrary statements though. The fact that you put in "While they both took the game seriously" Suggests that you don't believe M2K's win over Ken was legit or something..... You think Ken in his prime is better then any of the current top 20 in the world? I just wanna know.

Oh well I guess we're in somewhat of an agreement here. I just saw you right this long text about how the two metagames are different and it looked as if you were arguing something else.

Johns aside I suppose M2k win over Ken at oc3 was legit, I already stated why a single win doesn't mean anything. Looking at both of their tourney performance immediately after OC3 still gives the impression that Ken was the better player(case and point evo 2007); IDK if Ken in his prime would be as good as any of the top 20 today. It's difficult to apply the metagame from 3 years ago today, had Ken entered Apex he may have done reasonable well, likewise he may have done pretty terribly, it could have gone either way imo.

ok, you guys are right, we should go back to the actual topic. heres my ranking and why:

1) armada - skill level is almost even to mango and i think hes as good as hbox. yes the results from apex were pretty much one sided but keep in mind that a loss does not always determine the better player. you can fall for certain strategies that could be avoided if you would have the time to rethink your mindset. i would call the best player someone who has great (tech)skill, great knowledge, great adaptability (...) and also a big passion for the game that lets you put much effort into it. thats the point where to my mind the slightly worse player has the right to be the better player. i just cannot apply the whole to hbox like i can do to armada.

2) hungrybox - people often do not honour hungrybox that much, because they cannot look past the wall of aerials and see what kind of a smart player he really is. even though he won against armada i cannot put him on #1 since i strictly believe that winning is not everything.

3) amsah - he did very well on pound 4, not a chance against hungrybox though. thats why hes clearly under him but above m2k. the set against armada you could see what an incredibly smart player he is.

If I belong in the top 5 at all, it's impossible to tell. I think I can beat both M2k and Armada, but I can just as easily lose to both of them too. All I know for sure is that I'm definitely lower than Mango & Hbox..

i was looking at genesis pound 4 and apex2 combined since those are the last 3 big tournies and u only went to p4. im not sayin ur not as good as m2k but for me to put u above m2k i would like to just have more than 1 tourny were u and him were in attendance. its just a personal thing. armada has beaten m2k on 3 seperate occasions and although they were close sets armada has not dropped a set 2 m2k in tourny. as a result i place him above m2k hes beaten him not once not twice but 3 times. if u come to pound 5 and do as well or better than ur p4 performance then id have no problem placing u above m2k assuming m2k doesnt do better than u in bracket.

The question is why does M2K deserve to be above Amsah by default, considering all the evidence points to the opposite, even if it is limited. Considering he either wins or comes second to Armada at pretty much every event he attends in europe, he isn't just a randomer that hauled *** at p4.

also for people who want to put amsah above m2k i can see why. i was just pointing out a personal preferance and that i wont say amsah's better than m2k without more evidence i.e they play in tourny or if amsah comes over here and does better than m2k again or vice versa.

also another reason why i wont give the edge to amsah is that at p4 had jman not SD'd on that third match who knows what would have happened. jman might have won the match and then if i recall correctly m2k and amsah would have placed the same. so like i said more evidence is needed before i personally put amsah ahead of m2k
