It may not mean anything, but it's interesting to note that the Switch version for Crash 4 is already arriving next month, rather than one year after the game's release like it was with N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited.

...looks like some effort was put into the port, which is a better solution than just "lower resolution and done". And for 40 bucks, not bad.

Seeing as TFB doesn't do DLC (or even exclusive content on next-gen/other ports), it seemed like this is the only other thing they could do.

If Activision really does have a lot planned for Crash's 25th anniversary, which seems to be the case, then I'll be beyond surprised if Crash getting in Smash wasn't at the top of the list.

It's good that we now know that Crash 4 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but it probably won't affect who the next challenger is going to be.

Remember to always acknowledge that there are, in fact, some things that could theoretically hurt Crash's chances. That helps me with my most-wanteds.

At any rate, the statement is pretty vague and could mean anything, even if the leaked document doesn't amount to Smash.

On the other hand, we now have Crash 4's new ports and On the Run both launching next month (alongside Beenox's new spin-off getting announced, possibly), so March is oddly looking pretty packed for Crash stuff before we're even getting to June, which is kinda conspicuous.

It wouldn't be the biggest thing, but given the relative quality of some of the portable Crash games, getting re-releases of some of them on something like Switch would be a cool project to see.

Given that Sega published the N'Sane Trilogy in Japane I'm curious if something similar is happening here and that's why the formal announcement hasn't happened yet.

Xbox I can understand, since it's not that appealing over there. Don't get why they'd take so long to approve the Switch one in Japan though.

Really pumped to see "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" oficially announced for the Nintendo Switch.

Sooner than I thought, But still really nice to see, Yeah, Yeah I know it doesn't guarantee him a spot in Super Smash Bros, But it's still makes you feel good about his chances and had me thinking, You know what?

**** it, This is "Ultimate" and supposedly our final season of DLC, This is it everyone... The grand finale.

I'm going "All In" on the Crash Bandicoot hype train and there's no going back, We either arrive safely at our destination at E3/Digital Event or we go down crashing this train into a giant pile of TNT and Nitro Crates.

Also, don't sweat it if Crash doesn't get in this game: his series is alive and well now, so his rejuvenated popularity will get him in there sooner or later.

I can see it go either way which us why I put "Supposedly", Because we don't know really know the outcome despite them saying there's no future plans.

While the wait and grind of Smash speculation is hell, I wouldn't mind if we got at the very least a smaller 3rd season only because it significantly increases Crash Bandicoot's chances if for whatever some terrible reason he's doesn't make the cut in Season 2.

I mean, that leak is not a leak. It is just one anonymous persons wishlist in a wishlist thread on 4chan. Said anonymous person likely is reasonably happy (rip Ninjara) so far, but it’s not even a leak. If it was not in a wishlist thread or said it was a leak, I’d buy it more.

I mean, I don't "believe it" so much as I am keeping an eye on it out of suspicion. Plausible, one could say.
The leak I fell for hook, line, and sinker for was Google Theory way back during the beginning of DLC speculation. A Google algorithm seemed to be a plausible leak at the time.
Ironically, if we DO get Rayman, Hayabusa, and Doom Slayer, then all the Google Theory characters would actually be playable. Just not all in one Pass.

Though I'm not complaining about it because I love a good deal, But I'm honestly kind of surprised by the $40 price tag, Seeing how Crash Bandicoot does pretty well on the Switch, Activision probably thinks it was a good idea futher exposing it in on Switch and Next Gen to give the game a "2nd Wind" and boost overall sales.

With Next Gen being announced for $60, I expect the PS4 and Xbox One games to get also get a price cut to $40 the same day the Switch version hits the shelves.

Even before Crash 4 was announced for Switch (though it was unofficially leaked in a website inspection forever ago, right?), I always thought Crash was really just the largest omission from the cast. He and Spyro, at least, to me, were a big part of gaming while growing up, and while I personally don't love Crash's games, I would like to see him make it. Hopefully he does end up getting the invite.

Who knows if he'd be FP9, FP10, or FP11, but either way we'll probably see the next reveal in the next 30 days or so.

This same Twitter account posted a lot about SMRPG and Geno, and we all know what Geno's fate ended up being. I wouldn't look too much in to it personally, but boy would I love to be proven wrong.

Yeah, we shouldn't pay so much attention to this. I'm still positive in our beloved bandicoot making it in, given the five year plan rumor and the other future fun "happenings" for the franchise for it's 25th anniversary that have been recently teased, but I don't think this tweet by WCG has any importance.

I'll say this:

#1 - I'm not saying for us to take the WCG tweet literal, I'm saying it to take it with a grain of salt because while they had their hits, they def had their misses.

#2 - I'm still under the assumption that Crash would more then likely be the FP10 reveal (to go with E3) instead of a FP9 reveal (although I wouldn't complain either way) since most Crash stuff since N-Sane trilogy (N-Sane trilogy release, the ports to the Switch/PC/etc, Nitro Fueled release) has been released in June so what perfect way to continue that usual window by revealing the orange marsupial to one of the biggest influential games of all time.

EDIT: Especially when Activision said this in their press release: "Fans should also be on the look-out for tons of furtastic festivities from Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI) aimed to engage Crash Bandicoot fans throughout the year."

Considering what we have so far: Some new Crash merch, the mobile game from King (Crash: On the Run), and now the ports of Crash 4 to the Switch/PS5/ Xbox Series X|S!

So you would have to think about it.. what more can they do with the entire year at their disposal (maybe another remake? but im eh on it, more merch?, another mobile game? and tons more) and how likely would they planned for his inclusion in Smash since the window for this pass was opened until it wasn't.
