6/1.3/2.2 is not horrible from top lane. I'd like to think it's pretty good

also they're old. I quit awhile ago during the ryze meta. Being forced to play only Ryze and Irelia was really frustrating especially because the game was hyper ADC centric so climbing back to diamond (I decayed) was proving to be impossible despite clearly being out of place in plat.

Lucario's grab range seems pretty insane so I just abuse that against people who sit in shield.

Also one of our best kill options beats shield, so there's that.

We also seem to get a bit more distance with a boost grab. I'm not sure what inputs they are exactly for this game, but I just hit the same buttons like how boost grabs work in Brawl.

How do we fight Sonic? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around how to beat Sonics that fake out until they can shield poke with their spin combos. Part of me wants to roll towards him, but I do not want to get into roll habits again.

Due to not having lingering hitboxes, this matchup is all about reactions. When Sonic spin dashes, our short hop dair will beat it. Basically our most used moves in this matchup are Aura Sphere, Short hop dair, and pivot grabs.

I dont have exp trying it against sonics spindash so idk the specifics of what pitbull is talking about it but im sure hes right, will have to try it in that mu sometimes. I really know nothing about this mu other than AS is key since it stops all of sonics B moves past 80ish %.

but in general dair is extremely unsafe on shield AND EVEN ON HIT IF ONLY 1 HIT LANDS. Trash move. I think it's safe if you do it when they aren't facing you on shield at least

Our dair beats out the spin dash (don't ask me if it's side b or down b). I was doing it consistently to Sonic players a few weeks ago. You have to space the short hop so that the second hit will hit. The only time it failed was when I was too slow on the reaction.

Sonic is so fast he can probably run and grab you out of FP until maybe 150-160%ish.

I feel we probably have a few things we can do to him as the meta develops, but it feels like I'm a cat trying to jump at a toy that's out of reach.

Ideas for dealing with Sonic really flat lines with me other than just being patient beyond normal levels. There is no one else that makes me sit and wait to pounce as much as him.
