Are you PAL? If you are you need to use the 4.1 codeset, but I seen that not many PAL users can get it working very well; I'm still trying to get textures to work on the origional Brawl, let alone Brawl+.

If I remember correctly, I don't think the codeset has the file replacement for PAL users, so you may have to put it in manually.

Is every body here using a disk near the time it was released? I'm asking because my disk is quite new and I found out it could be the problem why I can seem to use any textures.

Also can anyone explain to me what the difference between file replacement codes and codes from the wiird code database are? My wiird codes work but the replacement doesn't.

I need help. You see, I just learned how to program in codes, so I made the .txt file and copied it t my SD card. Then I read you need a homebrew ap called cheatmanager. So I went on my homebrew browser, but after about an hour, I still can't get connected to it. So I'm asking, does anyone have a downloadable version of this ap so I can program in the codes. Also if you can make sure that I can set everything up on a mac, I'd appreciate it.

Cheat Manager is a homebrew app that allows you to select and edit codes in a text file and then generate a GCT file from it.

Code Manager 1.2
News Source: WiiRd
The WiiRd Code Manager has been updated to version 1.2
So well.. it was time.. I did a minor round up of the code manager..
Changes are:

* Name change.. the name Ocarina was removed all it does is leading to confusion
* stores to /data/gecko/codes
* if the publisher ID is 00 then it is striped out (assumes virtual console game)
* game id length of 4 is acceptable
* XP manifest
* refreshes drive list when you open the save window (hotplug support)
* 256 line error was transformed to a 256 line warning - meaning that you can ignore it if you know what you’re doing!

Other than that.. nothing should have changed!

Question.

This has probably been answered before, but I'd like to avoid reading through 236 pages if possible...

I downloaded a texture, and in addition to the standard .pac and .pcs, it comes with multiple .tga's. It doesn't work right if I don't use the .tga's. My question is: what do I do with them?

v1.3 - fixed one of the leading causes for the freezing.
v1.2 - No longer have to wait in the CSS before textures are loaded. Remains untested, so expect at least a bit of freezing maybe.
v1.1 - Fixed to work for stages.
v1.0 - Replaces all files read from the disk with any files of the same name on the SD card.

Disable Custom Stages v1.1:

Look for the thread on Character select portraits.

*EDIT* also, the OP should be updated, as Stack Smash moved their site to stacksmash.kontek.net
My problem isn't with character select portraits, though. On Kittycorp's Captain Falcon page, there's a texture about a quarter of the way down called Electric Blue Falcon. If you download it, you get a .pac and a .pcs, plus a bunch of .tga's.

If I only use the .pac and .pcs, Falcon will just be textured shiny blue, without any of the fancy glowing effects. My question is what I should do with the .tga's to get it to work properly.

I would rather download code manager 1.2. It is for the computer so it might not be convienient but I reckon it works a lot better. For some reason, CheatManager doesn't work properly for me.

Just get file replacement code v3.5.1. that's all you need for U.S or Japan in the way of that "sd files" stuff.

I don't know for PAL, sorry..

The shiny glowing effects in the picture was merely him possesing a smashball. What you saw in game is what you get. Tgas are merely for portraits.

Also, you can't have backgrounds for one specific custom stage. Backgrounds for all of one of three variations work though.

It's okay. I made the same mistake with thinking that Jedi Toon Link texture had a glowing lightsaber when it was just him slashing.

Old question, but how do you get CSPs to work, and where in the fighter folder (or just sd card) do I put them? Also, what are they to be named? .csp?

I wanted to use the separate pokemon trainer pokemon CSPs, but they're named with _Big, and those aren't doing anything when I load up Brawl+.

i have a problem. To me the whole stage texture hacking part was way to vage, so i didn't quite understand. What i did was make the folders as instructed, download my texture into the stage folder (my stage was battlefield), rename the texture to STGBATTLEFIELD.pac since the file was already a .pac file and when i started this through gecko the code didn't work... What did i do wrong?

I'm trying to get the celestial glow effect for Pit working (it's on Kitty Corps). Honestly I have no idea how effects work, and I'm assuming you don't just put it in the normal folder like with other skins? If someone could help me out with this it'd be greatly appreciated.

Does Brawl Box help in removing Sonic's Figure8 and Spindash Ball?

EDIT: Also, Why is Sonic's Shoes Yellow when I made the texture on his foot black?

Do you have an SDHC card? Can you read/write stuff like snapshots or replays?

It won't work, brawl only reads SD cards 2GB and below, anything above 3GB is what Brawl won't read.
