Teams: Character Combinations

Which do you think are the best combinations of characters in a team? I'd think that a defensive character and an offensive character would work well together, like peach and falcon or something.

Falco isn't as good in teams so I'm going to say Fox and Jiggs for best team. Sheik Fox is also mad good as well as Jiggs twice.

Pretty much any top tier+top tier will be a good team, more depends on the chemistry and skill between two playets

They're all good, but someone needs to be Fox, imo.

Seems to me that Jiggs and Samus's slow recoveries would be trouble in teams. Sure, you can get back from nearly anything, but it sucks to leave your partner 2v1 for 12 seconds whilst you bomb-jump your way back to the stage.

then again it only took 6 seconds for the wombo combo to be executed

Marth is like Falco.

Great in singles. Doesn't translate as well to doubles. Except Falco does better in doubles than Marth does (imo)

falco gets gimped less effectively due to teammate interference

marth doesnt have the time or space to properly set up the wall he generally depends on

just play dashdancey and jumpy instead of lasery with falco, and laser the other guy when your teammate is being edgeguarded

on the slow recovery comment: fighting 1v2 for 10 seconds is still better than your teammate dying. worst thing that can happen is that you die, which the slow recovery ensures isnt happening to your teammate so it, at worst, evens out

i enjoy using marth, and with the right teammate *cough FALCON cough* who can cover me/run around throwing out aggro/stage control, i can get in with tips and grabs to end stocks.

personal preference though

Fox Puff is god, and Mango thinks Puff should be banned in teams (I am not joking, he said that to me in person at Apex).

Fox Fox might be the 2nd best, maybe, or a different team with a Puff

marth puff is pretty ****, but it's hard if marth can't get grab for rests/hold his own 1v1 vs whatever other char is there

I'd say you cant go wrong with spacies... sheik, puff, falcon, and peach are all good team characters... Marth is kinda okay i guess... but alot less effective than in singles.

ive never seen him bring the marth out... mostly goes Sheik and sometimes fox

Marth/Peach, Marth/Falcon, and Marth/Fox are all amazing team combos, I don't know what you guys are smoking. Marth is great in teams.

Fox/Puff is the best followed by Fox/Fox though. Puff in general is ridiculous and so is Fox but to a lesser degree.

Marth is generally weaker in teams than in single play. He cant set up alot of his combos/chainthrows/gimps. he just isnt a mobile character when you compare him to spacies, puff, and falcon...

I think those are the only combinations Marth can work well with, and maybe Marth/Sheik. But really, Marth has a sword and it gets in the way a lot.

its almost always equally the teammate who got hit's fault, if not more his fault

if youre teaming with a marth, dont go jumping into his ****, understand that hes gonna be stationary and doing moves most of the time and stay out of his way

Me and my friend run Marth/Peach and have gotten good results.

I would say Fox/Jiggs for best team based on what I have seen.

I agree with you, but not everyone gets time to practice before a tournament. Some people find a teammate on here and dont meet up until the day of the tourney. When I play teams, I usually go Fox/Sheik, but since I always team with my friend, he knows my playstyle so ill bring out my Marth occasionally

This may not be the best team but kirby is horrible in 1v1 but he is a little better in 2v2.
