First, I have never acted as an authorityy. Secondly, my predictions for Melee and Brawl, and Smash 4 (with the exception of two characters that no one else saw coming) were accurate.

I think he genuinely changed his mind. Comments post-Brawl indicated Sakurai was thinking about ways the Villager could function, so I believe he looked at the possibility again and found a way to make it work to his liking. Though the series hasn't got any less peaceful, so he still contradicted himself.

They should make tripping optional in SSB4. Toggle it on and off.
Nobody likes tripping, but they should do it anyway for laughs and the heck of it.

I think he changed his mind. He did talk about thinking of a Animal Crosser moveset involving nets. Maybe it just did not fit the more serious, color-muted, Roman Colosseum fighting style of Brawl.

I was talking more about Ike, Olimar, Lucario, etc. Less likely characters

I prefer Lyn than Roy if the're going to add him in. I mean Lyn has a better fighting style plus her move set would be way more original. Roy is just a knock off of Marth in the SSB series. Sakurai just needs to do what he did with like the ice climbers and the rest of the others that he was going to add in.

I'll admit I may have been one to take this a little too seriously but...I just don't like the idea of more cuts even if it's been a possibility all this time.
I can understand the cuts from Melee to Brawl being time constraints but when it's due to system connectivity?...

This is a good thing. Now the elitest douche bags can shut up about SSB4 being too similar to Brawl.

Deal is, maybe it's just me. But to me the game seems to have a more competitive focus than Brawl. I've been saying it since the trailer on Tuesday, but so far the gameplay is looking good. Here's to hoping we get legit cancels and stuff.

I still think the transition is far too quick to be reduced recovery on her FTilt and reduced startup on her FSmash.

And no one liked it. Brawl wasn't the great game everyone expected.

No Megaman, Cut Mewtwo, add Tripping, tons of wasted memory space on Trials of games, movies for SSE, etc. that could have been used on characters, stages, and items that were cut from the series.

64 to Melee had no cuts and that was popular!

Although I find it interesting that Sakurai never bluntly said cuts. Perhaps none are planned at this point and that they're gonna stuff as many characters as they can in?

Sakurai wants full roster back but he is stating that it may not happen due to time constraints which was the case with Brawl.

I thought the Masterpieces were pretty cool, though, even if they didn't give us the Earthbound trial in the US version.

People wouldn't be treating the Villager as some undesirable nearly as much if it weren't for Sakurai's statements pretty much telling us not to expect him. Had we not got them, he would've been one of the more popular candidates, and people wouldn't begrudge a "character no one wanted" got in over some other ones. That one is Sakurai's doing.

I EXPECTED Villager in SSB4. I even had him in my list of possible likely newcomers for SSB4 and I kept posting it here over and over. But most people here didn't even consider that Sakurai is, in fact, capable of changing his mind.

Only thing that really is certain in relation to what he said with characters is that some are having programming issues. If it was a size issues, I would honestly wonder how that would effect Pokemon X & Y more than Smash at the moment.

That's my brother, haha. But seriously, the whole CONCEPT of Smash Brothers is watching our favorite characters duke it out. If our favorite characters are removed, then don't we have every right to be disappointed?
