Yeah they are just in certain places. So are in places that are hard to reach or where you have to time your super jump. Stuff like that.

...Okay, uh... for the last time, I need some help. ^-^;

I'm on my last two green stars- the second for Bowser's Galaxy Generator and the first for that evil Cyclone Stone Galaxy that has given me a pain in the neck ever since I first played it e_e

Okay, so... basically, I can find the stars, I just can't get them. The GameFAQs guide I found said, for BGG, to use Yoshi's flutter jump... doesn't work. :c Then for Cyclone Stone, it says to triple jump. That doesn't work either.

Help is much appreciated, guys. ^^;

I just finally beat the Stone Cyclone one. You definitely can use triple jump, and in fact I think that's the only way to get the star. It helps to be Luigi.

Me too, eheh. ^^; The guide didn't specify where you're supposed to triple jump + spin from. Turns out you have to follow the Tox Box when you first get on that circular path and triple jump from there, not the wavy incline. e.e; I also got the second Bowser's Galaxy Generator green star by just keeping two clouds handy...

So now I have all 240~ 8D I'm gonna be lame and wait for my friend to come by tomorrow so we can tag-team Grandmaster Galaxy. I gave it a try a little bit ago after I got 9999 star bits, and... ...e___e;

Oh well. After I beat that, I guess I'll finally have beaten SMG2 except for getting 9999 coins. :p 10/10, would play again... except that I'd have to do Cyclone Stone Galaxy all over again :mad:

Actually, I jumped from the incline and it worked. Again I was Luigi though.

I was making it really complicated at first. I was trying to stomp on the time-slower button, then time it perfectly so I would get to the Tox Box when it was under the star, then jump onto the box and get the star from that. Needless to say I was getting really frustrated

I been working from top to bottom with the green stars. Basically, start at world S and go back. So far, I've only reached the 6th world, but nothing too difficult thus far.

If only I didn't have to work today.

...That's what I was doing at first. :p

I tried that too... I guess Nintendo isn't quite that sadistic. :laugh:

Assuming you're talking about Stone Cyclone's 2nd GS, I had some frustration too. I'm pretty sure a triple jump from Luigi will get you up to it though. Can Mario even reach that star?

I triple jumped and got it with Mario. XD

Needless to say, that star took more than 10+ mins to figure out on the first try... the easy way, (triple jump and getting the star), or the hard way, (trying to slow down time and getting the star by jumping on top of the Toy Box).

I tried that once...

And ended up back at the start lol.

The good thing is that it's really easy to get back there once you die a couple of times.

I been playing all Mario. I wasn't aware that Luigi could be chosen.

assuming you've beaten the game, you can switch to him with a door in the spaceship with the L on it... you switch and can do everything with Luigi from there... Which you should do :)

I suppose switching to Luigi will make things remain somewhat fresh.

Since I gained all the green stars in World 6 and S with Mario, I think I'll feel just fine switching to Luigi as I know nothing will be too difficult I couldn't do it with mario.

Yeah... I recommend switching to Luigi as soon as possible, m'self. Higher jump, higher walk speed.

I do suggest reverting to Mario if you play a mission where you need somebody who doesn't slide all over hell's half acre, though. XD;

It does feel right to complete the final galaxy with Mario, though. ...Not saying I have yet, but e_e+

The only level I noticed Luigi was particularly bad for is Boo Moon Galaxy. Those moving platforms are a nightmare.

Well, I finally beat this all the way. Perfect Run wasn't nearly as hard as I was expecting. Still hard but I did it in less than 10 lives.

The most annoying star for me was Wild Glide Galaxy's second green star. For some reason I could just not touch the star for the life of me.

I got Stone Cyclone's Second Green Star via an aligned Long Jump with Mario, lol (if the second star you're talking about is the one just beyond the end of the course.. Mario should fall right on top of it if you spaced it right.

As for BGG's second star, flutter Jump with Yoshi repeatedly, and as you're close to it, jump off of Yoshi to thrust yourself onto the star. It would have been a lot easier if Mario could have kept his Cloud Suit as he rode Yoshi, lol.

Alright, here are my complaints about SMG2.

I hate the controls.
Some of the levels are near-impossible.
I finished Bowser without getting hit once.

My complements:

Despite the difficaulty, some levels were really fun.
Bowser Jr. fights were epic, especially the Doomsday Machine.
Music was beyond words.

People hate the controls when they play Twisty Trials prankster comet.

Especially if you're me and oblivious to the Yoshi Egg hidden inside the crystal.

I found the controls to be perfect... Huh.

God dang it I have to wait until the weekend at least to beat the final galaxy. XD; Ugh, it's so tempting...

The controls were fine for me, even on twisty trials prankster... it was annoying, but fun to finish... with or without Yoshi...

Personally, I'm still on the gold stars (I have between 100-110... not sure exactly), and the fwe I have left are annoying... I've finished worlds 1-5, almost done with 6, and still on the Boss Galaxy in 7... I'll get there eventually, and after I feel that I've accomplished something great, I'll realize that I'm not even halfway there :)

Most people that are use to the controls have already played Super Mario Galaxy before 2... most people anyways.

I'm almost finish with my replay of Galaxy, I'll start to replaying Galaxy 2 today.

I guess some ppl can't get used to the wiimote. I admit having some frustration with the Fluzzard stages, and the coaster stages but I got used to them. I thought the controls were pretty smooth.

Okay, so now I've got 228 stars, finished Worlds 1-6, and am entering World S. Which brother is recommended for which galaxies?
Btw, does anyone else feel that there are a few green stars where you can't tell exactly where they are in 3D space? Like, you can see it, but you don't know how close/far away it is from you. The best example I can think of is the second green star on the Hightail Falls Galaxy. You would think that you just jump on top of it and call it a day, but then you see yourself fall behind it, and think "okay, it's a little further out". But you can't even switch to the first-person camera view from where you're standing, so you die an unecessary amount of times trying to pinpoint its exact location. Or is it just me? :/

^ Yea I mentioned that recently actually. That it's kinda tricky to see where things are (unless theres a shadow underneath).

I REALLY hated the one you had to get in Throwback Galaxy where you had to get the Cloud shroom and go all the way to the left side of the stage in the sky where your camera angle limited you quite a bit and I had to guess where to jump. But I guess that's more a camera issue than an angle issue LOL. >_> still hated it.

Well, I guess I completed the game for as much as I can for now.

I got 241 stars. I just need to unlock the Prankster Comet on the Grandmaster Galaxy.

Please tell me there's an easy way to do this?

Depends. You have to get 9999 starbits in the bank. I had this done before I even unlocked Grandmaster Galaxy though, just from playing normally and dying a lot.

Oh, well . . . darn it.

I only have, like, 5000 starbits at the moment.

And that's because I decided to start depositing because I was bored. If that's the case, now I need to find a place where I can make starbits, and a whole lot of them.

Melty Monster Galaxy, the bowling mission. Gets loads of starbits. Once you you're about to run out of lives, or get bored, talk to cosmic rosalina to finish the level.

I was hoping to go elsewhere.

I don't like that one for some reason or another. Oh well. Looks like I'll be stuck doing that for a while. :(

It's really the fastest and easiest way, unless you're really bad at rolling with Rock Mario or something. It's the second star I believe. Or either green star. There's even a checkpoint and a 1-up in the exact area so you'll never get a game over.

I'm aware of all that, and I knew that to be the best place to collect starbits from playing.

i was just hoping that there may have been a faster method. lol

Besides Melty Monster, you can get a lot of starbits in Sweet Mystery Galaxy.

As a side note, this level is excellent for collecting Star Bits. After you touch the first flag, jump off and die. When you respawn, the camera will be pointed forward towards the rest of the level. Without moving, collect all the Star Bits that you can see by waving the pointer around the screen. Then run around, and the camera will shift. Collect the Star Bits in the background that are shaped like two stars. Die, respawn again, and repeat. You should collect over 50 Star Bits per death using this method... and since you earn a 1-Up for every 100 Star Bits, and since your collected Star Bits stay
with you after you die, it can be continued for a while. Once you have the maximum 999, just finish the Star to add them to your total.
