Question: I did some testing on Halberd (and this has probably already been done) but, are the claw and beam in particular randomly set? Do they seek people with high or low health, more or less stocks?

I was doing testing and I found it to be pretty random. I thought maybe if one went for someone, then the other would go for someone else. I then found that was wrong.

Anybody have any info on that? I've honestly never really noticed.

I don't think someone would ever think of that, it is very very avoidable anyways.
It could be tested, tho....

btw, looks that the whole TJ ruleset thing boiled down and it will only be used in one tournament in Mexico City in april.
I probably make a tournament in October with an own Ruleset and see what happens. Most people in Mexico is okay as long as they play.

Also, a fun fact I've noticed in 2 Nationals I've attended:
90% of First Games in Mexico are played in Smashville.
80% of the Battle Total are played in Smashville.

Doesn't that automatically mean that the tournament won't be stickied/gets less coverage/idk however the BBRRC enforces their ruleset?
I won't get stickied but its apex so I don't think it even needs the extra hype.

I'll try to get around to testing that tomorrow or something. If anyone wants to help compile data, feel free. I recommend using Halberd-; the only thing that's changed is that there's no cooldown time on the elements.

I don't know what will happen now, because in case you didn't notice Waymas replied about the ruleset and he wasn't very happy (for obvious reasons). And the best part is that ANYONE replied to him. Hoping for the best the may change it because the 4 times (?) national champion doesn't agree with that :awesome:

Yea I don't get this. Why would we adapt our rules to them when they have 11 months to learn every stage inside and out? I'm glad to see Pictochat gone though.

At least they will have to learn SOME stages.

I don't see Japan adding in hard CPs for SunRise Tournament.
nice sig
does some stage ban if you pic a char like DDD

The lack of fluttershy in your avatar is disappointing.
In order to less to more, I like: Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle.
IDK exactly why, it's just like that (:

If I weren't so lazy and bussy with the upload of the National Finals Sets, I'd test it myself. =P

Yes, 4 times in a row....
Also, nobody said a thing about WMS' complains... As well as nobody said a thing about next National, GENESI2, or the ruleset itself (only Addy, the one that started the BBR thing, said he didn't care anymore).
Probably it just will be dropped.

lol that's funny but true x_x
IMO, that's sad, so very very sad....

I can respect ROW ROW FIGHT THA POWER since it is TTGL related, thinking like forever alone or the other faces just annoy me.

If it wasn't simular to the Hamtaro invasion the Pikachu's were doing I'd feel better about it.

Well at least with Hamtaro I watched that show so I kinda liked it, never watched My Pony like shows.

I honestly thought the show would be ******** but then I watched it and found out that it was an actually enjoyable show (provided you liked foster home for imaginary friends, and/or powerpuff girls). Its not the 5 year old show you would expect form my little pony. Watch 2-3 episodes then try to hate it.

Also hamtaro is terrible. The only appeal to the show is the cuteness however there are many shows with equal or more in that regards and actually enjoyable plot.

Hmm. I can't argue melee very much, but I think it's worth mentioning that the only european melee tournament I've ever been to (it was a few weeks ago in Austria) had a more liberal stagelist than the american nationals. Oh and Poke Floats is hilarious.

I think they just don't know what to do because well... It's the cahmpion...

I meant funny thinking that when someone loses on let's say PS2 they say "It's the stage", "That thing is broken" ... you know

Sarcasm or not, that sounds nice. There's a nice write-up in the mexican forum, but I'm too lazy to translate.

I'm semi-active... on hiatus since I'm temporarily living in a different city. If you're a student, university campus is a good place to start looking. Unless you mean you already found a place but are unsure how to ask?

I think there is a TO101-ish thread... check Tournament Discussion.

My campus doesn't want to because it doesn't do something educational or something like that.

Yet we had an anime convention at the campus last year. :urg:

Anyone think I'd have a chance of asking my high school?

I *could* say some of the money could go to our school wide charity project.

F being so young for now

Depends how large you want your tournament to be. If it's just 20 people or w/e, you might have a decent chance at booking a room after school or something. I don't see many high schools being willing to let you use their gym for an 80+ people video game tournament though.
