So what? Ban Mushroomy Kingdom.

It's not like Metaknight can kill on RC at 0% at the boat or anything, correctly positioned with UThrow.

Also Dedede kept dropping because of poor representation.

If the ghosts are on a timer and not random. I will laugh so hard.
They're completely random.

I sat through like 5 8 minute matches watching for a pattern.

The side they appear on is completely random and the time between when one goes down and another comes up can range from 8-20 seconds.

The range isn't that drastic.

It's more like from 10-14 seconds. Oh, and the side it picks is indeed completely random as well.

Actually, I strike BF a bit more now since everyone should know some people can't tech off an edge slip there >_>

I go to BF a bit MORE because of that tbh. Depends on the matchup though. You know how we NEED kill setups. However on SV you can pull it off on the platform with weak moves anyway on anyone.

It's generally within that range. (the mode would be 11 seconds or something).

But they can be up to 20 seconds apart, randomly.....

I *****ed about Picto a bit back then

But then I realised we do sorta have a double standard going with YI:Brawl legal and Pictochat banned (since the worst they can both do is alter what should've or shouldn't have been a diff. in stock count)

Pictochat does do a little more with a few walls here and there and % adding objects though, so I could see it being argued worse.

It just depends on how bad you see the extra % and walls being

No double standard. YI:B's randomness is isolated to two areas (only one of which will matter at any one time) and only ONE thing can happen (the platform going up).

That isn't at all comparable to Picto.

what if we trade and both get sent off, both fail to reach the ledge, but the platform saves you and not me? :awesome:

Um yeah, i get what your saying with Pictochat having the possiblity of all the other stuff, but it comes down to how much stage interference you will stand.

At worst both stages can alter the stock count from what it would've been without interference.

Pictochat can do that, but also a little more with walls, hazards, etc. It comes down to whether or not you think the additional hazards cross the line.

BSP is a reasonable man.

This is certainly not "progress" from the liberal point of view. You may dislike Picto because it has too much random interference, but realize the motivation behind its removal. The committee is heading towards the direction that bans - there is no hint of legalizing stages here. You may agree with the removal of Pictochat, Supreme Dirt, but you should see that Unity is moving in the direction that sees Halberd banned, rather than the direction that sees Jungle Japes legalized, for example.

I could compare it to Green Greens though. :awesome:

The saddest part is that I, a strong believer of it lost interest on defending it, and probably could have done something about Picto. I just didn't...

^ Ditto ^

The problem is that instead of listening to the arguments from the stage boards, it became a matter of "picto is gay. let's just ban it."

I tried pretty damn hard to defend Picto... didn't make a difference in the end.
This
and
Except the stage boards seemed to dislike Pictochat too in this case.
This.

I really lost interest after being unable to word my thoughts quickly and properly, being the only one defending it (as other defenders seemed to be quietly lurking -before the whole Unity Ruleset thing-) and everyone else *****ing and countering my arguments within seconds lol.
That was kinda depressing...

I mean, I'm not forced to use it as I'm not even on the US, but it really hurts my stage-debater self....

Which stages would be the ones that are worth working for to get them in the Unity ruleset?

Oh and think babysteps for this one.

Considering that both have been legal in a large amount of tournaments in the past, and Norfair was legal at MLG, while Japes was not, I'd call that debatable.

I'm just contemplating on where to focus all of my pro-legalization efforts when I'm done with finals.

I think I might go for Japes first. Toon Link likes it more. :toonlink:

What were the problems on that stage again? What are the most common characters that are supposed to break this stage?

If that's really the case, then why is JJ even banned?????

I'm gonna ask this in the Unity thread to get more opinions.

Seems that "char is kinda OP" is a legit stage legality complain... even if it's biased...

Well I'm looking to do my own research on it and see what I can come up with. See if I can prove people wrong.
