Alright guys, I lied to you. It was only a 7 round winning streak. The vids will be up soon, though. =D!

EDIT: Adobo, I'm trying what you said, and it's kinda interesting, but doesn't seem wholly practical. Any way you could get a video of it, so I can make sure I'm doing it right?

Btw, guys, I just noticed that with the side+b>fair, you do 26 damage if you do everything right. Seems that I'll be working the spindashes into my game more and more, as they look to be his best options for damage. That and they actually have pretty good priority. More on this as I figure it out.
They do? How? I don't own it, but Spindashes seem like they'd have some serious priority issues, just in concept.

Actually, now that I think of it, I once saw a Samus vs Sonic video where he spindashed straight through a super missile, without taking damage, knockback or stun. Everyone in the comments said it was just a flaw from Samus, but it looked like invincibility frames to me.

I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT

Got it! You can see him go through it at 2:45. No damage, and the spin connected. It was in the middle of the jump from his side-b.

Also, he kills Zamus off the side with Fair at 115%. Just felt like pointing that one out.

Otherwise, this guy doesn't seem to be a particularly great player.

I need a way to send my saved videos on my wii to here so I can show you.
The best way of doing this is jumping and then trying it sometimes short hopping works with it but its a smaller chance of actually reversing back in enough time.

Ah, that seems a lot more plausible. Just tried it, and I ~think~ I know what you're talking about, but I'm not seeing the same thing you are. Seriously, if you could get a vid clip, even if it's just you in training mode, that'd help a lot.

I thought, inititally, that Sonic's spindashes had zero priority. However, playing against a Sonic showed me that they're actually pretty decent approaches (or I just react poorly to them, one or the other). Either way, I'm going to try and incorporate them a little more into my playstyle. Due to being able to JC them, it seems like they'd be really viable for approaching airborne enemies while staying low to the ground. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Couldn't it just be that the Spindash eats projectiles? It does the same thing to DeDeDe's projectile spam.

I also have a question on spindashes. How quickly can you change the direction you're going? I'm not talking about how long after hitting back do you start moving that way, but how soon after hitting back can you change the momentum back to forward? (Sorry if that made no sense.) It seems like if you can just jam back and then forward again quickly enough, you could use the predictability of the move against the opponent by "stalling" just a bit out of range, forcing them to miff their attack, and then following though with a hit.

It's fun speculating on a game you've never played and then making other people test it for you.

Too bad because that would own all. But can you stay in place like the puff could do in melee with rollout?

Eh, kinda, but not really. Also, it won't hit multiple times when you do that, for some reason. I think it only hits on certain frames after turnaround, which is really stupid.

Wow.... I can't beleive I'm making my first post here.

Anyway, I've been roaming around Youtube for a bit and I found a video with something interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INAunUpdQKo&feature=user

At :17 Sonic Spin Dashes towards Lucario he then proceeds to do a Homing Attack which either

A) Most likely scenario: Was carried forward by the momentum of his spin

Or

B) Somehow how alot of lag stopped.

It looked as though it might be pretty useful to me. But then again I don't have the game... WHat do you guys make of it?

That's what I thought too, but at 0:37 he does two that quickly, one from standing and one from floating.

I'm sending the poster a message asking what the deal is.

If you see any of my other videos, I pretty much use this everytime. o_O

I thought it was actually well-known that you could speed up the Homing Attack charge by pressing B (or A) again...

Well, there you go, no rocket science at all =P

...Please, tell us more of these well-known facts you speak of, magical videogame genie.
Haha, that was funny.

Anyways, glad to see u've joined the boards Orochi! If you haven't you should read the thread about increasing the range of your fsmash, it would be a nice technique for you to incorporate.

Updated my first post with my win streak, for those too lazy to look:

InterimOfZeal(Sonic) Vs. Mikezor(Ganon) o

The guy refused to post the other two matches, because they'd be embarrassing to LoVo and Erg, and unfair to them, since they haven't played as much. Seriously, that's what he said, look:

mike z says:
i didnt post ergs or lovos because i didnt want them to get insulted on the internet because of only one video
Ten minutes in eternity says:
Aww

Instead, I'll hook you up with 3 other matches that I won. The GaW ones are from a tourney 2 weeks ago, PT is more recent, I think.

InterimOfZeal(Sonic) Vs. Brown NITE(Game & Watch) 1

I do that spin dash into homing attack too, most of sonic's moves require an extra few presses to speed/power up his moves.

Wow. We, sir, are humbled.

Welcome to the boards, and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

~Lyoncet (the guy who messaged you on YouTube) :)

Edit: In retrospect, I guess it makes total sense, since to do a homing attack in all the Sonic 3-D games (sans Secret Rings), you, you know, hit jump, and then hit jump again. It would be awesome if you could just keep spamming B and do it over and over on the same guy.

it looks like they implemented the hoimg attk the same way that they did in the 360 STHH game... so that there's some lag after the moves hits. cause i remember in the Adventure games i never had to use the light speed attk because i could jump and than mash the A button until everything in the room was dead

Ha ha great memories there. It would be awesome if you could gimp someone multiple times with the homing and then recover. Just more insult to injury even =D

Sonic has infinite jumps, guys. Same thing as Bowser. Also, don't EVER dash grab anymore. Cancel the dash into a >b, then cancel into a grab, so you don't have that horrendous range/lag. I'm seriously.

Sonic's >b is amazing. More on this later.

EDIT: -Zeal

DOUBLE EDIT: Also, I have a really lulzy technique with the dair and springboard. I'll get vids up later, it's great. =D

Hey all. The smash wiki says that down B can stop upward momentum and, of slightly greater notice, spike. I've watched quite a few sonic videos and have yet to see it do anything like that, but then again I don't often see spin dashes used, so can anyone comment on that?

...Though now that I think about it the wiki also still says that down air spikes midair opponents, and that's apparently not the case, so I'm not sure how much stock I should take in that. Oh, and I remember someone mentioning neutral air having a sweet spot or something about the upper mid portion of the attack (can't remember who though, think it might have been InterimOfZeal) but I never saw anything else about it. Did anyone follow that up?

Nice match collection too Zeal, especially the ones against ike and marth (I love watching those two get beat down).

I have taken to doing spindashes off the stage, but haven't connected yet.D:

It ~might~ be able to stop momentum, but I haven't had any luck so far.

Btw, you can charge the side b, and it moves wicked fast. Updates later, I'm tired.

Can you still jump cancel Dair?

Like, if you only jump once, dair, and attempt to jump again, does he still stop and go into a second jump?

Wait, so you're saying that if you use >B while close to the ground you can do infinite jumps using the spindashes hop?

I'm going to go test this out...

OMG i just saw Sonic Orochi in action, and I must say he totally blew me away!!! Your style is so fast and aggressive that you constantly keep your opponent guessing. Even tho his videos are against lvl 9 cpu, I will go as far as to say that Sonic Orochi is better than InterimofZeal. Orochi incorporates ALL of Sonic's attacks wisely and effectively while constantly zooming across the stage both horizontally AND vertically. Zeal, on the other hand, hardly ever uses the spin dash approach or the homing attack.

Both of you should do a mirror match just to see who is better, lol.
