I actually started up pretty high on the scale a few years back; then went through some **** in my life, lost a bit of my figure/tan and confident social skills (it's possible), then had to downgrade my standards a bit to something realistic. I've only been lucky to get it twice in 1 month. In the same week no less. I have major dry spells.

The "Pity Lay" goes like this. I hate Valentine's Day, I'm usually single on Valentine's Day and I'm always surrounded by people who are like "OMG Valentine's Day!!" yada yada. It makes me pretty miserable because nobody ever gives me the time of day and I'm like "Really? Cool. I see all of you." Being picky/having specific likes and having "unrealistic" standards are not the same thing. Plus you don't have enough evidence to support this claim. The only people that have stated that he they have liked him in this thread..we're black. And he stated he prefers the Vanilla over the Chocolate. Its just a preference.

Bears - Hairy, beefy men. Often overweight, sometimes muscular.

Cubs - Younger versions of bears.

Otters- Slim, hairy, younger men.

And then there's a whole batch of gay subcultures that would take too much time to answer/blow the minds off many of you heteros The point is..in the gay world..its a lot easier to get the uh..sausage because there is a niche for EVERYONE. It's strange.

@ TC- It can't be any more complex than the underground swing life. I've ventured down that SLS (swing lifestyle) road briefly when I was 18, right before my physical decline started up. I saw a lot of things that changed my sexual views for good, making me much more casual about everything that relates to it. I didn't actually get involved with anyone at the time because it is very difficult for a single guy to get his foot in the door (figuratively) in the lifestyle. There are couples who are more often than not willing to share the woman with a younger guy, but at least 60% of them seek someone closer to their age (average of 40-50 yrs old, but there are some 20-30 yr old couples involved). Once a guy scores though...ohhhh boy. A friend of mine who accompanied me to a couple of those designated places told me a bunch of stories about some of the people he scored with.

Needless to say...I'm still intrigued and it serves as one of the reasons why I'm working out to get back in total shape.

Current fact: I've still only slept with one girl to this day. I'm not ashamed of it. Things will happen when they happen, I've got plenty of life left to live lol.

Why would a man bother to wait around or attempt to strike the fancy of a girl who primarily observes style of dress and "game"/swag over most other factors including personality, dependability, and/or genuine charm/respectfulness; or at least gives off the impression?

Real talk-
Men are held to this standard that they should portray some badass (or in some cases...metro) figure who is smooth with words, give off an "uncaring" or "whatever" vibe as part of their swag, and who at the end of the day still craves sex but will smooth his way in instead of shooting for the goal in his own way (double standard much, ladies?).

There's such a thing as lowering one's standards out of desperation for sex/attention, and there is also such a thing as lowering one's standards to avoid futility and irritation. Besides, "standards" regarding people are so subjective that I don't even want to get on the topic of trying to compare them. People like who they like.

In my opinion, this entire generation's standards (in general) have gone down the ****ter. Future generations aren't looking any better. High infidelity rate, high abortion rate, JERSEY SHORE and TEEN MOM having large cult followings. Yeah...heh.

I don't know, maybe I just have an old fashioned mindset; but hell...my parents share the same views and they've been happily married for over 25 years. They must be doing something right.

in case you dont know it, larger women primarily observe the style of dress and "game" as well (observe whether they wear makeup and dress nicely - they do), they are just disadvantaged because they have to try harder. everyone is born with different amounts of pros and cons, but we all play the game, don't act like we don't, or like certain groups are just ABOVE it, and are somehow better.

Of course I don't feel compelled to talk about personality on an online forum where the current discussion is addressing physical attraction, physical standards, and other things um...hmm...physical. I show it and focus on it in person when I converse with a woman because that's where it really matters.

You can sit here and tell me about the things I don't know all day if you want, I acknowledge that there are things I don't know or fully understand. I solely speak of double standards that I've encountered from women as pertains to men, not in general.

I have had a bf that weighed around 275 lbs, dated a guy in a band and wore skinny jeans (not really liking that style), had a one night stand, have had a friend with benefits, dated a half asian who smoked, and sort of had something with a latino.

Same here on the friends with benefits thing, Rauleen. It worked out for a while, but then she got really attached and it got awkward. I guess it just depends on the luck of the draw with that type of thing.

I'm geared more towards my career and things like that at this point in my life. I don't mind if I find sex or not, it would be nice but it's not the end of the world if I don't. A real relationship that doesn't feel like it would fall apart from something small or stupid is something that I'd welcome with open arms though. I kind of forgot how it feels to have something like that with a woman, I'd say it's been about 4 years now since I've had something even remotely close to that, give or take. Part of it has been by choice, and the rest was just bad luck whenever I tried to make a move on a new girl that I crushed on. Kind of just stopped altogether about a year ago, haha.

Actually, after a while, I started to have feelings for him and tried to date him but he told me reasons why he cant. Eventually I decided that I wanted to have a relationship with someone and told him I couldnt do it anymore and that I needed to move on. I would say it was a self destructive point because I drank a lot more mainly because he did. He was sweet though; he'd always pay for everything and made sure I wasnt sad.We would play board games with his friends, watch movies and cuddled, and I even met his family. He was just the type that acted like a bf but didnt like the commitment. I didnt scare him off after I said I wanted a relationship. We still hung out but I didnt respond to his advances anymore. We dont hang out as much anymore but he'd still txt me that he misses me. But I usually wonder what does he actually miss about me?
