LOL Lanstar definitely has an ego as much as he wants to pretend that his post was just him trying to troll.

He played me in tournament where all he did was try to prove that he can powershield my missiles, I mean, he really didn't try to approach, and his body language was that of a guy with an ego. It was pretty cocky IMO, and since I have a big ego too, I started casually trying to prove that the powershielding didn't phase me and I was still going to shoot missiles.

He seemed to try much harder when he realized we were pretty close during the 2nd match.

The most egotistical part was that after beating him 2-0, where the 2nd game was kinda close, he seemed pretty upset, as if he was robbed, and asked me for what seemed like a post-set rage friendly. He can act like it wasn't, but I know a raging friendly request when I hear one.

I wasn't sandbagging Baka. I hadn't eaten anything all day, except for a banana when I woke up, and I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep. Baka was kind of freaking out before the match and I told him he shouldn't worry because it was the best possible time for him to play me that day.

Beyond all that, I've never really had to worry about letting anyone down but myself. That's something I'd prefer not to experience again. I don't plan on doing anymore money matchs with side bets involved again.

TL;DR Johns

The post from before was obviously for lols, the idea just came to me in the library and I wanted to see what people would say. I basically know where I really stand as a player. I think I'm generally at least somewhat underestimated, but I'm not amazing.

I do honestly believe I'm better than Daniel, and possibly PR worthy. However, I don't expect any of you to believe this, and I know the only way to truly establish this is to demonstrate it, so that's what I'm working towards.

I've noticed the better smash players don't usually whine about those rituals. A lot of smashers/other gamers go to a tournament off 2 hours sleep, possibly hungover, and don't eat until after they win the tournament at 9 PM. The 8 hours of sleep 3 meals babies never do good ;)

If you are johning about something you could've prevented, then you need to reassess your pre-tournament priorities.

Tumblr.

I have a bookmark folder dedicated to them.

I've been trying to find a good situation to use this one, but nothing has arisen...

dude, sleep johns are sooo dumb

and it's mainly just because smashers are dumb.
mango's power doesn't come from his lack of sleep, or his hung over-ness, during tournaments. good smashers get away with doing stupid **** like staying up all night because they have the skills to cover up the gaps in their gameplay. being tired during tournaments is just a coincidence based on a ****ty smasher lifestyle LOL

nutrition, sleep, whatever, these things all make a difference. take care of yourself, *******es. you'll play better and be a happier person for it!

The last few pages were a real good laugh! LOL at gifs!!

Whether it's getting good at Smash or anything really, you have to drop that ego. It's only a barricade to self improvement.

Sleep/Eating johns only count when you're the only victim of such circumstances.

Like Joe said, a lack of sleep/eating is an inherent part of the smasher lifestyle. Who gives a **** if you didn't sleep, NO ONE good managed to sleep either.

Controller johns or lack of playing johns would have been better IMO.

If you didn't get enough sleep, its your fault
If you didn't eat before, its your fault
If you didn't get enough warm up, its the community's fault
If you got camped, its fox's fault.

Will Smith - "Talent you have naturally, skill is only developed by hours and hours of beating on your craft. I've never viewed myself as talented, where I excel is sickening work ethic. No matter how talented you are, your talent is going to fail you if you aren't skilled. The only way I picture myself differently is that if we get on the treadmill, two things are gonna happen. You're going to get off first, or I'm going to die."

Why is Will Smith one of the most awesome people ever

That wasnt a very good quote.

And practice johns are STILL your fault, unless there was no way possible for you to practice at/before the tournament.

Eh, thats assuming you're gonna lose your first match.

If you're ****ty and cant win against a scrub with no practice, then dont enter the tournament. I however will tough it out, and spam downsmash until im up and running.

well I mean every scenario is fine if no one is gonna john of course.

I'm just mentioning if one was to john then the option of not playing is always present.
