If Tornado spam bugs you, pick DK. Best tornado spam punisher in the game. (He can kill metaknight out of it at 50% with a DK punch) You don't have to worry about being in range either, because DK punch has super armor, so as long as the animation BEGINS before tornado hits you, it's a hit.

DK or just pick Falco. Laser camp and MK can't approach with the tornado. Lasers go through the tornado.

Or do a ditto. MK's can knock each other out of a tornado with many moves, including a fair.
