But seriously, I feel bad because I sort of started it, but we should move matchup discussion to our matchup thread, questions and answers to the questions and answers thread, so we have this thread open for story time with Smoom.

What reason would i have to do that?

I've played litterally every top tl in tournament and am posting my opinion based off my experiences against them. I think its ics worst match-up at -2. Its not like im some random poster who randomly played a good tl, i have credientials. Im not sure why you are saying im blowing it out of proportion when youve probably never even played a top tl.

Well MoH, in his defense, I am undoubtedly the worst here and am probably blowing it out of proportion. My opinion means nothing.

The best help you could do is probably put every IC player through their 30 minutes of hell. That means you time them out all 3 times, intentionally lose one, use all the time you can between counterpicks. Play to win and play to be awesome and play to be gay :)

Maybe. But I thought the point is for your character to play gay and run away already. So really, by saying that, it's playing to your strengths. And our weakness. Gayyyyyyy

People have mental blocks when it comes to some stages, where they have bad memories so they do something wrong, or what not. there was a local play in my state that I'd play and take him to a stage and he'd always lose because I went ganon in a serious tourney and only killed him with side B and dairs. nothing else. so i CP'd him there everytime and did that till he started avoiding spots and making him make tons of player mistakes.

it's like sandbagging. you know they're not doing the best they can, but you still cant beat them... why is that. It's all mental. Learn2Psychology for the win ;)

Man, as a psyc major I find that REALLY interesting. I hope you intend on writing a book in the near future, as I intend on buying it as soon as it hits the shelf. To help get it out quicker, I went ahead and took the liberty of designing a cover for you! All you have to worry about is filling in the text :)

Guys lets not forget the fact that hylian is, well, hylian. what, number 2 IC? and everyone challenging him isnt top 5.... look at the dudes badges he obviously knows smash. im new to IC but been on SWF for awhile and i know experience outweighs opinion. plain and simple.

and that is why ive had some laughs at the past couple pages or so. hylian knows his **** listen to him

yeah. and this all started causei had a cocky TL friend. basicly what i learnend from theese guys was every stage sucks against TL. but every stage is the best. soooo in short, i lost. got him to his last life and high % both times tho

to be fair, i side B'd off the side, and on the next course, halbred, i daird off the side. i chose halbred cause im comfortable there, and he isnt as much. if i didnt kil myself it might have had a different outcome.

And LOL @ Stealth Raptor: Go figure you'd be in the IC board Danny. Since everyone is going to move away from you, you'll have no choice but to practice CGing on your own or playing lagtastic wifi haha

i dont play ics lux other then as a fun third i dont practice but can still consistently pull off zero to seventy or so doing nothing but fthrow lul. i just lurk cause i once posted here and it hangs on my subs list. if i ever get bored ill delete the sub

So I went to my first ooc tournament without my parents, Nikefest 3 in San Antonio. I got 5th/40, best placing yet.

Pools: got 3rd seed. I could have gotten 1st if Dphat didn't pause in the middle of my grab, and I asked him for a grab and he didn't give me one ;-;
1-2 Dphat (shouldawonyouknowitdphat)
2-1 Polt
2-0 Zero (some sonic)
2-0 some falco

Tourney:
2-0 Jrugs (snake)
1-2 Gnes (i beat him first game, but i got like majorly two stocked the other games lol)
2-0 Andilex (diddy)
2-0 a certain Toonlink (that beat cheese and bloodcross at pound and got first seed)
2-0 KPrime (pika)
2-0 Megafox (snake)
1-2 Espy (i did really well first game on bf, then got owned on YI and SV. i dunno why i CPed SV lolol, shoulda gone like PS1 or something)

And i beat denti 2-1 in a $.50 MM lolol. It was a really good set, we ended up splitting for 5th (we were supposed to play to decide 5th and 6th).

I didn't really drop any grabs for once. Maybe cause of bananas or nades, but not really any at all. This is the best tourney I've been to :D.

@raptor: technically there's nothing in the rules, so I couldn't get anything :/

@lux: YES. I've been waiting for my moment, I think practicing my CGs just got my that step further that I needed.

Did espy go sonic? And did you not just "pivot grab everything" like everyone told me to do in the video thread?

Yeah, he went sonic. Pivot grabbing everything doesn't work lololol. I may have been able to pivot grab something in game 1 but the other games when he's either spinning dashing from a curved piece of stage or from the SV platform, it doesn't work.

You really gotta play sonic on BF or FD. No doubt. Thanks cheese for the advice today btw.
