"Plague Symbols" (Plague Knight & Mona) - This is a bit of a strange one, because I wanted to go for an icon that represents Plague Knight and Mona specifically as opposed to Shovel Knight, As such - I have two!
The first is actually the small bird head atop Plague Knight's staff, due mostly to its resemblance to Plague Knight himself - as well as being part of his iconography. Then, the second icon is one of the Bombs that Plague Knight uses, complete with chemicals inside. Being more alchemical in nature, it might represent both better?
"Switch Icon" (LABO-Man) - I feel like the LABO logo wouldn't work well here, but the Switch logo... actually seems perfect, to me at least. It's simple enough to function, and why fix what isn't broken? View attachment 344918
"Knock-Off" ("Waluigi") - Why would Robbie and Sportacus know about the extended Mario universe? It's for this reason I think that their icon should literally just be Waluigi's own logo, as they wrongly presume he's some sort of icon of his own series... despite having no games to his name aside from spinoffs. "Old Town Road" (Lil Naz X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus) - I, to be honest, didn't really know what to go for here. They... don't have a lot to work with, so I just went with "horse on a vaporwave sun" and it looked... surprisingly not bad. Well, I'm awake! I've been doing a couple other bits and bobs in the process. First up:
"Unicode Monarch" (The King) - Whilst I did consider using a propriatary symbol, this is the Unicode symbol for the King from chess. (I'm actually a little surprised that chess is represented in Unicode, but it's a pleasant surprise.) It fits pretty well in my eyes, given chess doesn't really... have a logo?
"Not That Guy With The Glasses" (Anthony Fantano) - I actually sampled this directly from the Needle Drop logo, but I think it works pretty well. I'll admit I was a little unsure of if it worked given it's mostly line-based, so I made an alternative, simplified variant that's more befitting of other icons of its type. (Even if it now looks... more like a RelaxAlax logo? Huh.)
"Queen of Fighters" (SNK Heroines) - So, I was a little torn here whether to use the SNK logo, because the star seen in Terry's series icon in Smash specifically represents Fatal Fury. However, it occurred to me that the teamup of three made it a clear candidate for a King of Fighters team, so I sampled the "F" used in the series. Unlike other KoF icons, the "F" seems to have appeared in nearly every KoF logo... so it felt natural to me.
"Lo-Fi" or "Kirby" (Lo-Fi Girl/Sleep Kirby) - Okay, so the second one is pulled directly from Smash but let's be real, it works. Lo-Fi Girl's icon, on the other hand, is pulled from the "Lo-Fi Girl" channel, a pretty easy pull to make. (I was always under the impression that the livestream was run on the ChilledCow channel, but I guess not? I'm not really clued up on Lo-Fi lore...)
"Delicious Fruit" (The Guy) - Is it an apple or a cherry? Despite the endless arguments, well, here's the fruit in question. Credit goes to Baysha for the idea - I was hella stuck trying to work out what to use - but here we are! I think the pixelly look is pretty unique for him too
(Chris Pratt) - I genuinely struggled here. A part of me wanted to use a symbol or icon from his movies, such as perhaps a variation of Star-Lord's helmet, a variant of the Jurassic Park logo, or even the Mario logo, but this needs to represent Chris as a whole.... which is difficult. I mean with Anthony Fantano, his logo is literally just his face but I don't think that'd work so well for Chris... open to ideas!
"Listen Up" (Master Ear) - Look it's literally just an ear, what were you expecting here. Jokes aside - I was kinda stuck on ideas here, so an ear seemed logical. It occurred to me that I'm not sure Master Hand has his own symbol, and it just uses Smash's symbol, but then Dimensional Junction doesn't really have one... huh.
"Sportacus" (King Stingy) - Look, I couldn't really think of something to represent Stingy specifically. Sportacus's crystal works well to represent LazyTown as a whole, but there's also a bow tie to represent Stingy specifically (at least, I hope.) I didn't really know which to go with, though.
I'm pretty sure that covers everyone up to now... though I'll make some more when new fighters join the fray. But, before we go, time for a special announcement...
"SOULJA BOY TELL EM ITS YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" (SmashBoards?!) - Couldn't help myself. It'd be funny if "the audience" are actually just SmashBoards users but hey - it's a fun bonus, even if it doesn't get used. Long story short I got bored so here we are!

Continuing the ideas from Yiptap's profile post, I suddenly had a thought for a group of animate characters who could potentially replace Labo-Man.
The Labo Crew (Professor Riggs, Plaise, and Lerna)
These three are the characters who host the custom garage creations in Nintendo Labo. As replacements for the Labo-Man (who could also cameo in their artwork anyway), they will keep all of his same sources...except for one.
"Rips featuring music originating on Nintendo Hardware" will be replaced with "Rips featuring music from games with a focus on user-generated content." This can include not only Labo and its spiritual successor Game Builder Garage, but also stuff like Mario Maker, Disney Infinity, Minecraft, Fortnite Creative Mode, etc.!

I personally don't think it would make much sense if they teamed up with R.O.B., but that's just me at least.

I mean, ROB could fit, since I saw some images about ROB as KFAD Fan-made character, so he could fit, since he has funny robot design I guess...
Continuing the trend of "replacement concepts," here's a few of my ideas. I don't want to come across as disrespectful at all - these are just thoughts of mine! Oh yeah - and all four "Inanimates" are on the chopping block. As such:
I'm just gonna say that if we're gonna keep any of the inanimates, I'd pick Potterquest and Hornet to stay. Potterquest doesn't really feel inanimate to me (which I guess could be a side effect of being a Muppets fan, it's easier to see puppets as just characters). And Hornet is just that good. The King is a close second but I wouldn't mind swapping him out. I'm totally down to swap Labo-Man, though.
Random question, but is Hornet going to be a literal car or are we going for the Fighters Megamix take and having it in a psudeo-anthropomorpic form?

She doesn't actually add any sources or anything, but she's a little like the Curly to Quote, or the Lil Jon to HOBaRT - she's a bonus character commonly seen with Hornet, but she isn't in the main roster or anything like that.

Just felt like throwing in a few little concepts about extra guest characters that suddenly came to me when I trying to sleep
KneeofJustice suggested earlier that the “audience” in the Hotel would literally just be SmashBoards users, and I don’t know why it took me this long to realize that could be a pretty hilarious inside joke since we started the project here. While I don’t have the art skills for it, I’d envision the art for the Audience featuring avatars that represent all of us who collaborated on this thread (My picrew avatar, the giant head for Kneeofjustice, Tankman for…well, you know, etc.). Then we could ask around and see if anyone else on the site wants to cameo, and we figure out what avatar they want to be seen as…
Even if nobody gets it, I think it could still be a good reference to our roots here, and if nothing else it’d be a fun bit of trivia for people checking us out.

1. ENA. (I think ENA is such an interesting character to include here, plus - you get amazing artists like METAROOM, Machine Girl and Oliver Buckland in her sourcelist, as well as titles like LSD Dream Emulator. When you toss in what is essentially Weirdcore as a genre, it makes them a really cool addition!)
2. Sailorwave. (Lowkey, "pre-98 non-shonen anime" is such an amazing source. Considering it technically includes gems like Cowboy Bebop,Lupin the IIIrd, Neon Genesis Evangelion... plus, MACROSS 82-99 is an absolutely based addition, and topping it off with Ghibli and future funk? It's a work of art.)
3. Spamton. (I think Spamton is a really interesting inclusion, and "Toby Fox" as a source is pretty powerful when you consider some of the things he gets! Even so, I think Spamton's bizarre personality and mannerisms would work really well here. He's a strange, unusual, and bizarre guy... and I think that makes him very appealing.)
4. Mulder & Cooper. (The overall disconnect from some of the wackier picks here and then just "two normal guys" is pretty fun, plus their sourcelist is pretty good when you consider they get a ton of pretty appealing rips. Not only this, they have potential in that they could have their own side story... self-vote, yes, but I think they have potential.)
5. Beelzebub. (The idea of having "a literal demon" here is pretty funny to me, plus it's a nice change of pace to see an ATLUS rep here too. When you also consider the number of titles in the Monster Collection genre (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, hell even Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance,) as well as "demons and hell", you get a really powerful character that'd be so fun to see interact - as well as getting rips!)
6. Biblically Accurate Justice. (Another self-vote?! Okay I'm sorry - but the rips you could get from BAJ would be amazing. Ed Banger & French House as sources are powerful enough to have been seen in other tournaments, sure, but then tossing in an angel really makes it quite an unusual pairing with a lot of bizarre interaction potential. I think it's ridiculous enough to work here, at least personally.)
Just gonna put it out there, though... this was a hard list to make. Like, a really hard list to make. So many submissions here were really, really good (Shoutouts go to the Heroes, Dad, Pibby, The Rock and Snoo & Clyde, all of whom very nearly made the list!) I just wanna say like... wow. Thank you all, because this... this is amazing.
Whew glad this voting block was open so long cuz I was away from this site for like two days straight lol. Now to make some of the toughest decisions in the thread so far...
1. The Enigmas (It's just incredible how creative this idea is. I love the vibe of representing this very specific subgenre of creepypasta, and the source list sure ain't bad, either.)
2. Biblically Accurate Justice (I still reel at how clever it is to combine the biblically accurate angel meme with the cross from the Justice logo. The joke slaps and the songs slap, what more could you want?)
3. Santa Claus (First of the self-votes, but I still love commercial jingle source and I find it fun to have a mean Santa Claus. I imagine his rips would fill a unique niche of being all short but sweet.)
4. Mushroom Kingdom F.C. (And here's the second self-vote. The more I think about it the more I like the sports source. Stadium anthems go so hard! Plus did I call a new Mario Strikers game or what?)

Kinda? Kinda not? Discussion has happened on the Discord server and some side projects have had some things made for them. But in terms of progress for the main thread, there's not much. Also if you're curious, the characters who won the resubmission vote are The Enigmas with 21, Santa Claus with 11, ENA with 10, and Sailorwave with 12. However, Yiptap doesn't really like Sailorwave as he thinks she qualifies as an OC. (I kinda disagree with him but that's beside the point.) There are also talks of replacing POTTERQUEST, Labo-Man, and King. The latter 2 because they're just inanimate objects and the first because Neil Cicierega reps are kind of overplayed in these types of things. I'd say that the only things left to do is vote on which characters should be replaced (if any) and who with. Along with the last boss. It's all up to Yiptap if he wants to continue this thread though.

Sorry everyone! I forgot that we will have four regular bosses! When making your submission, it won't be a final boss. It will be a regular boss, so keep that in mind.
First up... damn, I'm glad to be back here. Anyways, getting right into it:
In terms of who we should save, I know this is a self-vote, but I'm going to opt for The King. With a slight rework to some of his sources to balance him a little better, I think that the King - on a conceptual level - is unique enough to really feel like a fun inclusion here. As much as POTTERQUEST and LABO-Man have their benefits, I think that the idea of a sentient chess set just... existing in this world is really fun - plus, being a board game rep is something we don't often see in other tourneys, and extending that to strategy as a whole makes him a very powerful inclusion... and one more thing, I love the idea of the personalities of each piece being based on their role in chess as a game. I'm just a sucker for that kind of thing.
And as for the boss? Hmm... let's have some fun with this.
Who better to orchestrate such a harrowing and bizarre series of events than, well... God? Of course, we wouldn't be going with the traditional interpretation of the one above all - rather, we'd be looking at someone quite different.
Basic Info
Character Name: The Flying Spaghetti Monster (otherwise known as "His Noodly Appendage") Character Origin: The religion of Pastafarianism, proposed in 2005 Character Abilities: Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence... you get the idea. He's literally God.
Intentions and Lore
From a domain devoid of logic, of reason, and one that very importantly cannot be absolutely denied to exist, spawned many creatures and beings of unimaginable power. Whilst one such creature was the amalgamation now known only as "Uncanny Reactions," one such being to arise from this ether was a literal god - FSM.
FSM decided to create the very first universe, though due to his early addition of a beer volcano and his rapid entry into a drunken stupor, he wound up casting it into the nothingness of the ether mostly by accident, promptly forgetting about it as he went about his business creating other universes and populating them with bog-standard concepts such as "light," "life" and "water." Needless to say, 8 days after his creation, he was bored - and to this end decided to utilise the original template for a universe, all of which took place inside a porcelain teapot owned by a gentleman known only as "Russell." Inside this teapot, he created a world of some reason and logic - enough to spawn an infinite hotel inside, acting as his interpretation of heaven due to its inclusion of any concievable amenity that a being could wish for. Even so, his laid-back, mindless lifestyle became boring, and after 14 days of creating the first universe, FSM decided to hold the very first Tournament.
Interestingly, due to there being an infinite amount of time inside the Hotel (or, as it's truly known, the Teapot,) every concievable kind of competition has been done already. Notably, a couple of mashup tournaments have taken place before this one - and needless to say, tournaments will take place long afterward. So long as the Flying Spaghetti Monster exists, he will be bored - and so long as he is bored, he will create tournaments to observe.
Also, he's very annoyed that some bloke with a long beard took all of the credit for his work.

Also one more thing, there's a running joke that a lot of the mannequin-like attendants will sometimes have colanders on their heads. The attendants will never, in fact, refer to the colanders, and will act as though they don't exist.

After that time when Stingy recruited all characters from random dimensions by creating rifts in time and space, he finally wanted to start the Showdown, but he forgot about the strongest foe that could fit for the tournament.
"It needs to have very strong sources and it needs to be physically strong" - Said King Stingy. Then, something outside the hotel is happening and Stingy went outside of it, seeing a spark that comes from void matter and it cracks up, revealing a mysterious giant Rift and leads to nowhere and a mysterious figure jumps out of the Portal, landing in front of hotel. Then, it slowly approaches to the Stingy and he says: "Well well well, it seems you're one, who stole my place in this hotel. I was rulling this hotel whole time, but you took for no reason while I was on long vacation in another dimension. How dare you, Stingy!?" - Said mysterious person with anger.
Stingy was sweating and he told that he just wanted to help him, but the mysterious person didn't wanted to believe and he took him inside the hotel. "Look what have you done" - said mysterious person with disappointment. "Listen, I thought I'll just make it look better" - said scared Stingy. "Better?! No, it's not for me! I'll do it better than you! Grrraaaghhh!" (Creates a portal and throws everyone into Stingy Stadium and rises a Platform over hotel into a la Smash's Final Destination and he flew into Portal and landed with a lod noise.
Then he spoke the words: "So this is your army, Stingy? It looks great, but I'm not sure if one of them can defeat me, but they need to give a try.
I have also a deal, if y'all win, I'll let you keep the hotel for rest of your life, but if y'all lose, I'll force y'all to get out from hotel and never ever comeback to it, okay?"
"Deal, mister" - said Stingy.
Then the ripping Fight begun and the Mysterious person revealed to be...

Full Name: Meme Man (Aka S Age: Unknown (Physically 30, but actually Species: Meme Humanoid Occupation: former Hotel owner (DJ), Business man or man with other jobs (real Canon) Universe origin: Surreal Universe (or Surreal Meme universe)
Description: Meme Man is a meme person, who appeared in Surreal Meme videos back in late 2017-early 2018 and he resurfaced opinion 2019 as "Stonks" Meme, which it gave him popularity.
Meme Man was originally a Facebook Meme that depicted poorly rendered 3D head on dark blue background. Then he got resurrected as "Stonks" Meme that was shown also on Facebook page, where the word "Stonks" was misspelled version of Word "Stocks". Later after the memes appearance, it spawned a lot of Meme revolving about Meme Man depicted with a job with misspelled captions saying the names of jobs or etc.
But in Dimensional Junction, he was a former Hotel owner and he liked his job until he took a vacation due to being tired of working alone and he wanted to see his friends. Then King Stingy, who was travelling through multiverse, he found a abandoned hotel and thought that he could rule it for some reasons. After the time when Stingy recruited all characters and 3 bosses, Meme Man came from Portal and he planned to take over hotel, but he found out that Stingy is rulling the hotel and he was going to be blunt to Stingy for stealing his place while he was on the vacation. After the tough conversation with King Stingy, he sent everyone to a portal, which it led to Stingy Stadium and he Rose the platform into the air and he started the fight. Also, he stated the deal that if everyone wins, then they'll stay in hotel forever, but if they'll lose, then they get forced to be kicked out of hotel and he started the fight.

(Keep in mind that he would speak in computer text-to-speech voice, but some of grunts are taken from memes. Also his VS and Victory quotes are Referencing memes)
