The new was removed between the August direct and Isabelle's reveal. If the new is removed, it might indicate that a new character is approaching soon at which point, the new would reappear after the reveal.

If 4chan does actually post some suspicious picture of unannounced fighters and then it's guaranteed to be legit or fake if it's photoshopped.

I'm on 4chan for every leak season because the legit stuff almost always shows up there first. Like for the USUM sprites, I was right there when the thread was posted (and everyone thought that Zeraora would be way cooler than what its 3D model turned out to be lol), same for Sun and Moon when the dex leaked etc. It's just way safer for leakers to post images there, and usually even the legit text leaks are there first (like with LGPE). So yeah, it's not accurate to say "if it comes from 4chan, it's fake!", it would be more accurate to say "only a small percentage of all the **** that's posted there is real, but it definitely COULD be real".

Your right. Sorry I remember it being close to E3 when the images began to leak. I think maybe July I think. All I remember was Litten being shown and then I saw the images a few days later and had the feeling in my gut they were correct

I mean, I thought it was a unique pick. But there is no way Sakurai would upgrade Waluigi from AT to playable.... after showing him to us as an Assist. Unless he pulled something like... "Whenever they aren't in the fight, any other fighter may show up as an Assist trophy fighter... and when they are, ALPHONSO!"

unique, but super fake nonetheless. they did an okay job imitating the way directs are written, but there's one fatal flaw: if the ken photo leak is to be believed, ken is based on street fighter 3, not 2. also, it's of course incompatible with vergeben, and waluigi is obviously not a likely inclusion due to his apparent assist trophy status, and ganon being an echo fighter is a little hard to believe.

I really don't understand why people go to such great lengths to make a leak like this, and then throw it all away by adding Waluigi. The only way Wauigi would ever make it base game is if the game was delayed just for him, which isn't going to happen.

Dude, he got his leaks straightly from 4chan, google searches, Reddit, and "links to site that he claims was lost". This is why it is red flag that this leak was based on popular speculation of Steve, Incienroar, and Ken being in the smash as new fighters.

I know that he did leaked some battlefield assists from E3 BEFORE the E3. But, I'm sure that it isn't same source that he got that **** from.

I think Steve and the Square Enix rep might actually be our first DLC characters and that's why all the leakers were so iffy on their inclusion...

I dunno though. I don't see Steve making it into base game but if Sakurai somehow, some way pulled out a time traveling miracle and got him in base game I would be astonished. Truly awestruck by the dude. It's one thing to make a game like this. It's a whole 'nother to got to Konami, Sega, Namco, Capcom, Square, AND ****in Microsoft to get them to participate in a single game and work everything out where all these companies are happy with their representation in the game.

My thing is, yeah The N and M are buddy buddy right now but they weren't in 2015. If Steve IS in, and right now I have no reason to doubt Vergeben or Senjougahara's credibility right now, then I think he'll be one our first DLC even Senjo said that might be the case. We'll see I guess.

It's like either they're being facetious and that's part of the punchline, or serious and don't realize it takes years to develop a character.

I would love Microsoft to participate--just in a different way...

And also we should be pretty confident Minecraft content is in, in some form. So I feel like their inclusion is guaranteed, even if it's not a character (which is not all Smash is despite how much we focus on it).
