Calling it now... Animal Crossing Direct

I wish it were a Pokemon direct, announcing Gen 8 early.
That's not happening any time soon, though. We're not gonna see gen 8 until February 2019 at least.

We wouldn't deserve a roster that beautiful. The only question I have, though, is would the Metroid be able to crawl?

It's not that. I don't like seeing people bash each other's choices for DLC for no reason, and I was wondering what would happen if Sakurai decided to goof off for all of it instead. Did I sound harsh? It's hard to tell with me.

As for Metroid crawling, sure, I guess.

Erdrick would be cool, but I don't think he's on the same level of an iconic or creative choice as integrating a Slime into Smash would be. Truth be told, I'm not even sure if he reaches' Sora's or Cloud's level of being iconic.

Most, if not, all people outside of big-time Dragon Quest fans or just well-informed fans wouldn't know him and likely assume he's a Dragon Ball character.

Well we're making the assumption that when putting in a character from a different franchise, you'd actually appeal to that fanbase instead of using an easily recognizable mascot.
If people didn't know Dragon Quest at all, I'd say they'd probably think Slime was a Pokemon than anything else.

Plus, the Dragonball DragonQuest parallels are valid as the artist is the same. It's like not putting in Crono from Chrono Trigger because he has the same artstyle as Dragonball.

To be fair Jigglypuff was relevant at the time of her inclusion. She was a prominent side character in the Pokémon anime.

Pichu was an easy clone to make and was relevant at the time given Gen 2's introduction of Baby Pokemon.

Wii Fit Trainer wasn't popular in the core fanbase, but was a worldwide smash hit.

R.O.B. has historical significance as he saved Nintendo in the West.

And I've got nothing for Piranha Plant lol.

Piranha Plant has been part of the Mario franchise since the first Mario Bros platformer. Now was it a choice people were clamoring for to be in Smash? No but it makes sense it's very prominent, and was already in previous Smash games. So it shows that Nintendo Nomura daddy Sakurai at least thought the character was important enough to feature in the series in some way. So I wouldn't say that Piranha isn't prominent if anything it's more prominent than the previous mention characters by a mile.

If any Disney assist trophy is getting in to represent KH, it should be Wreck-it Ralph

The only Disney characters not originally from Kingdom Hearts that I could see getting Assist Trophies, Spirits, or even appearing in the game would be Donald, Goofy, and Mickey, in their Kingdom Hearts forms, of course.
That said, I suspect that Disney would only give the KH Originals, so Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Aqua, Terra, Ventus, Xion, and Axel seem to be the most likely ones to appear in some fashion, if they include new Assist Trophies or Spirits at all.

Unless we get an Animal Crossing direct now, which seems kind of... early. It was only revealed less than 2 months ago.

It has been a literal year since Atlus have announced it and we've gotten nothing in terms of info.
In the time between we've had two persona dancing games and a persona 3-4-5 crossover announced and had weekly updates.

If we're getting another Direct it'll be a game specific one. I can't imagine them dropping a bombshell General Direct this close to The Game Awards. We're only a month out and Nintendo puts some serious stake into that show every year.

My most wanted character for DLC is Sora from Kingdom Hearts, particularly with his Kingdom Hearts III version as the default and his Kingdom Hearts II version as an Alt, like seems to be the case in Kingdom Hearts III. For alt colours for both, they could use the Drive Forms from Kingdom Hearts II for inspiration, such as Limit Form (itself a reference to Sora's Kingdom Hearts 1, primarily red, outfit), Final Form (Silver & Black), and Anti-Form (Think Sora's version of Dark Link) for his Kingdom Hearts II outfit and Guardian Form (Yellow) and a currently unnamed Magical Form (Blue) & also unnamed Green Form for his Kingdom Hearts III outfit.

For his stage, I would love to see Destiny Islands transitioning from the base start of game form, to the being destroyed storm version and then the End of the World version before transitioning back.

My guy. Here's to hoping our boy comes home for dinner.

If Sora gets in I might actually make a writeup like ChronoBound did for Ridley when he was revealed. Would you all be interested in something like that?

Here's mine!:
Richter: These guys are pretty similar to For Glory links (Spam specials, and zoning capabilities to the point of dull annoyance), but the difference is they're more aggressive about it due to their aerials having that long reach.

Simon: Kind of similar to Richter mains, but are usually more experienced.
