True but you get my point. He's not anywhere in the Direct. Not as a spirit (assuming Spirits deconfirm characters). Not as an AT. Nothing, even though he's one of the most requested characters in the poll.

Maybe but it seems unlikely considering he's a really popular character and would have gotten revealed ASAP, especially when considering Sakurai doesn't view Spirits as deconfirms. He views them as having characters who aren't fighter participate in the match, like Assist Trophies.

If this was the case Geno would've been emphasized more than he was as a 2 second hard-to-see profile icon

He may have not been an AT simply because it would've felt out of place. Even without that he may simply be in another faucet of the game. I don't get why he would be DLC and not Ridley or K. Rool.

From what I've read, 2ch is their 4chan (I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I want to love KI:U, I really do. I love the NES and Gameboy KIs. KI:U was just too familiar feeling to S&P, and I like those games so much more.

I'm fully aware I didn't give KI:U a fair shot, but I don't think I can separate it from my feelings of disappointment that S&P2 didn't lead to more.

All you need to push those S&P feeling aside is to listen to a good amount of dialogue from the game between characters, listen to some of their best songs, and go through the personality of the character known as Pit as a way to bond with the illiterate fellow

I agree, but DQ also doesn't really have a single character as recognizable as Slime, at least globally. Erdrick would probably be more iconic to Japanese gamers, but he's more of a literal who globally. I'd assume they would go with Erdrick, but I can't rule out Slime these days.

Slime is so iconic in Japan, that if you were to ask anyone of any age over there to draw a slime, the one they'd draw 99.9% of the time would be the iconic tear-drop shaped Dragon Quest Slime, instead of some other random slime from pop culture. It's in a similar way to how everyone here knows about Mario, and Pikachu, but on a slightly lesser scale.

Guys! Guys! Guys........Wonder Red. The IP was just on our last system and its still remembered as one beast game. We all should consider pushing that game out there. We could get him as a dlc and even maybe get a new game down the road.

If you havent played the game and have a wii u still, consider playing it you wont be sorry.

There are probably a lot more people that recognize Waddle Dees than Ridley and K Rool. To be fair, I'm sure there are a lot more people who recognize Piranha Plant than most of the other Smash newcomers too.

It's entertaining watching all ya'll freak out over this game while I'm over here simply waiting for the game because I know it'll be great.

I feel this on an everyday basis. Never instantly resonated with the energy of a post so quickly.

The vast majority of the Smash community must have pretty good lives if Smash not looking exactly how they want is what brings out such anger from them.

I would say it's a bit of apples and oranges though, comparing a generic species to established boss characters.

K Rool was the antagonist in more than one game, but I see your point about Waddles Dees in general. They're like Toads of the Kirby series. I think more people know about K Rool and Ridley than Bandanna Waddle Dee though. And might even confuse him with a generic Dee - which was an arguement against him before PP

Piranha Plant turns into like, 5-6 entirely different species to use some of its moves.


Likewise, there are like, over 100 types of Slime, and being a slime itself allows it to shapeshift.
