Slightly off-topic, but the possibility of the leak being real has made me more interested than ever to try out some of the games for these supposed new reps. Was thinking of starting with Golden Sun. Can anyone sell me on it?

Haven't played it, but I can tell you that Super Mario RPG is a lot of fun and has great comedy, and I can see why people who grew up with it desire another game like it. I think it's rather short compared to every other game (but Rhythm Heaven) that will be represented by these final newcomers.
Banjo-Kazooie is a classic, and if you like any of the 3D Mario games, I think you should give it a shot if you haven't already.
Golden Sun's worldbuilding and OST (especially for a GBA game) is brilliant, I've heard.

So just a thought about the banner leak, feel free to see it differently. there is a lot of discrepancies in the background but a lot working for it to possibly be true, so what if nintendo sent out their promotional material with small details wrong so that it can be scrutinized when over-analyzed but not noticed when seen as a big pictured. sort of like (if im remembering right) the ESRB leak had Disabled spelt as Disablad in the bottom corner for smash 4

I feel like something that helps for the leak for the time being is that other than confirming that he does work for them the new graphic design company that this leaker currently works for has been pretty quiet about if they work with nintendo or not. the Marina production company made a statement expressing how they are not affiliated with him for the last two years pretty quick and as long as the new company doesn't come out and debunk this leak i will still believe that this could be our final roster

Nope nope nope nope nope. Stop trying to endear me to Mach Rider. I don't think the legit is going to be real at this point in time, and I already really want the character in the game now, so the more you make me like him/her/them, the more it's going to hurt me when the Grinch leak goes topside.

I'm tired of the waiting game, would much rather hype irresponsibly.

(though depending on how long this goes with nothing concrete it could also get tiring, but much better than boxes)

I'm not sure. The process that was going on made me assume it was something more "finalized" as it was being prepared to be used by something--guess that's an assumption. This, I think, is a lot more complex than "disablad", but if graphic design artists say they can "knock it out in a day" then so can Nintendo. That being said, if they weren't sending out finalized promotional material, I don't know why they would include many unannounced characters.

I was just reading some other stuff and someone posted gifs of a character using a motocycle as a weapon and it looked bad ass--at first I was skeptical, but now I could totally see a gun and motorcycle moveset with so much potential. Driving over people, upper-cutting them with the front wheel, etc.

In that same thread, someone mentioned Grunty's Furnace Fun as a stage idea for Banjo & Kazooie. I hadn't thought about that, but trivia from various franchises could make for a unique gimmick I hadn't thought about (though, maybe someone mentioned it a while back in the B&K thread). Maybe more appealing to non-fans than Grunty's rhymes.

I know its really improbable that we will get a Direct revealing everything between now and november 2nd, but food for tought

A lot of it obviously depends on how they'd play, Mach Rider is probably the one who'd be affected the most by that, if he's on his bike at all times then he might shoot up the rankings a bit, but if not then he might fall down quite a bit (or she... who even knows). Someone like Incineroar, should he also be in, might get a huge boost just from how they translate his personality, animations alone can do a lot in convincing me of someone's inclusion, and I feel like he's one of those where you have to see him in action before you can properly appreciate him.

I don't think there'd be a single bad addition to the roster if this is it, even Daisy who's at the bottom is a fine character and a logical echo. With that said, even if it's fake my opinion of the game is not going to wane, because as you can see my top picks are unchanged, it's still a fantastic roster regardless of what happens. The leak's additions mostly just serve to fill that gap in between Simon and Chrom, none of them are potential main material for me, although taking a more general perspective I can also appreciate how it's basically a fantasy roster, it'd make me very happy for a lot of people around here.

Isaac: I'm a fan of the GS series, one of the best RPGs out there imo.
Incineroar: Unpopular opinion but he's the best out of the Alolan starters for me. ALso because uh, yeah.
: Castlevania is a very fun series and I'm excited to whip people with Jonathan Joestar. Plus I prefer him over He-Man.

Banjo-Kazooie: Never played the games personally, but having a second duo character will be fun, hopefully they'll be more fun to use than .
Mach Rider: If Mach Rider is in the game, I at least hope her moveset revolves around using her vehicle. Don't really like how they made her in Crusade personally.
Geno: Never played SMRPG, but I can see why people like Geno so much and I can def. see a potential moveset for him.
: Never played Splatoon or 2. I'm planning to get 2, but it isn't on my priority list.

Shadow: Him being an echo of Sonic would be fitting, seeing as he is actually his clone as stated in SA2 iirc.

Though, as much as I don't think 5-7 characters is implausible to be revealed in one month... any more and it's kinda difficult and I can't see all of it being revealed at once. Does seem like if it's being used for something it would have to be an event like that, though. *trying to piece everything together while math flies across the screen*

Several Insiders dont seem to trust the banner leak but arent clear about WHY exactly.

Someone came to me and told me straight up that they saw proof of incineroar (im looking into their credibility/credentials etc... before I completely trust them but so far they do seem like they are someone who could have plausibly seen that). This is NOT my source I've been talking about just to be clear, this was someone else, thus im looking into if I can trust them.

I highlight this quote because before all this banner stuff I was SPECULATING incineroar and ken might share a trailer (a lot of people were). IF thats actually true, that might be what mysticdistance is trying to hint at here in which case its awkward having a banner with Ken and NOT incineroar if Ken should be revealed along side him.

I'm looking into what proof exactly the person telling me they saw proof of incineroar actually saw. IF its somehow his reveal trailer/an image of his reveal trailer than that might be floating around with "insiders". IF that trailer also features Ken (especially if it has a splash art message for ken, as in HIS reveal trailer as well) THAT might be why insiders are "wary" of this banner leak.

BUT this person telling me they saw proof of incineroar ALSO said they now think incineroar might be held off for DLC or something if he was a late in development edition/low priority to sakurai, and the banner could be real if thats the case.

I'm just trying to follow all the bread crumbs here, but the realization that Ken might be tied to Incineroars reveal trailer I thought was worth getting out there, this doesnt make me doubt the banner leak (theres so much evidence surrounding where it came from and everything) but I'm trying to figure out why insiders seem to doubt it while only really being able to hint at "incineroar is probly in", with no clear counter argument to him possibly being held off for DLC (or even a bait character to catch leakers, though if they have SEEN him I see why they wouldn't think thats the case).

Watch, two trailers at the VGA. First is for Incineroar and second is for Sora. They are announced to be the first two DLC characters launching in a few weeks.

When I joined, I was loving this place. Really helped with waiting for Smash.
However, now it has become stressful hell waiting for Mach Rider to be shown.

There are some fond memories, no doubt, mostly from the Brawl days. But to be honest, I only ever went to the site for Smash Bros. pre-release discussion and not only is this place entirely focused on that, but everyone seems so much lovelier, and logically minded.
