That aside, I’m on the fence with this one. Blurry images are easy to edit and I’ve done some experimenting with altering the character mural and inserting my own characters. With some time and patience, I could do it probably and pass it off as a leak.

I’ll just wait for some actual confirmation before I believe this leak was real or not.

I must say thiugh, this entire pre-launch period has been full of ups and downs, waiting and hype, looking right and left and right again. With all the leaks, fake leaks, directs, delayed directs, periods tons of info and lack of info.... it’s crazy

Reveals slowing down does NOT necessarily mean less characters.

It just means the rate at which we got reveals would be slowed down. Not the amount of them. I understand why people would think that slowed down reveals means less characters (Hell even I did), because that's also less time to reveal them, but if they really go for the big blowout at the end like this leak is suggesting then it'd still fill Sakurai's statement.

I think calling Mach Rider a predictable pick is silly because most people expected Excite Biker or Takamaru as the new retro rep, but ofc the latter was deconfirmed. I don’t even think most people expected a retro rep this time around.

I’m surprised Mach Rider can potentially be a reality.

I know that apparently Sakurai did consider him back in Melee, even then it wasn’t that much. But the fact that he may be able to actually include him in Ultimate is beyond me.

I guess the obligatory Retro Rep is still present.

Because you sound exactly like the Shulk/Little Mac defense for Smash 4.
The shadows have changed many times on the ground, so can the clouds. The picture is also like 120p so I'm just going to say your eyes can very well be playing tricks on you. Too much over 1 bent cloud. Everything else has been the same, especially where other characters have moved.

Unless he brings definitive proof of his claims?

Not to be rude but you're just plain-out ignoring every argument and generalizing them like come ON man

All the posts I remember were saying "Are you really looking at the clouds in a low resolution picture?"
And that's invalid, because, while the picture is low resolution, the resolution is still high enough to see the difference without any doubt.

They sayd that the picture can be modified, but that's not really a counter-proof. While it's true, it's also HIGHLY unlikely that they would modify the clouds.

Other people said that they would have to make the background from scratch, and I just replied that it's possible, it requires some patience and skills but it's definitely possible (I myself did a part of it by removing Luigi, with some time you can do the whole of it).
The picture is so small that you can't see the artifacts and the low quality stuff.
The fact that the leak's background and the official background don't match is evidence in favor of the possibility that the background is probably not official and it's a replica recreated by the leaker instead.
The background is made of some blurry clouds, it's not that hard to make it... and the Battlefield thing has probably been recreated in some way, maybe even by gameplay videos and official screenshots (not to mention that it's almost completely visible in the official picture, only the very top is covered by the characters).

7 characters in 1 month and half is not a slowdown, and Sakurai said that they would have slow down with the reveals.

16 characters (+ potential DLCs) does not match with what Sakurai said about not expecting many newcomers. While they are less than in most of the Smash games so far (14,18,21), they are still too many to justify Sakurai's claim, and in addition to this, while Smash 4 had 21 newcomers, Cloud, Ryu, Corrin and Bayonetta were DLCs, bringing the newcomer count in the base game to 17, only 1 more than what is the supposed amount in Ultimate according to this leak.

Other posts were about the ESBR leak and the Shulk leak, saying "a similar thing already happend in the past and was legit". This is by no way a proof.

What other explanation was ever made to disprove my evidence?
