On the topic of Ken, do you guys think he'll get his own trailer? Richter was the first 3rd party echo shown, and while he was part of Simon's trailer, he still got a reveal of his own (more than any other echo has at least). Originally, I didn't think Ken would get a trailer since he'll likely be just an echo, but now I feel he might despite this. He's another 3rd party character, so they might actually give him special treatment. What do guys think?

Oh yeah, since this is now "Gushing about Octopath music: the thread"(and if it's not, I'll make it be), before boss fights, each of the protagonists has their own intro theme that transitions into the boss thene

Ironically, while Tressa is my least favorite of the travelers, she has my favorite intro theme(which totally doesn't deserve to be stuck in her lackluster story).

I reaply need to finish Octopath when I get the chance. H'aabit is on Ch3, and Alfyn, Tressa and Ophilia are all on Ch2, I wanna do the postgame but ugh so much grinding

What do you mean Awakening's format, like having 6 + 7 as 2nd and 1st generations in one game? I think they are already doing the best they could with remakes by keeping SOV's gameplay as close as possible to Gaiden while spicing it up with experimental things like combat arts and now series-staple supports, plus a modern coat of paint (NES games just look nasty.)

I can understand introducing things like pair-up to games without it, reclassing for replayability, casual mode, more supports etc. but having every remake fit into an Awakening cookie cutter just doesn't seem logical for most games' story and gameplay structures. The biggest things to get people to play these games are accessibility and marketing. Before Awakening more than half of the franchise was literally Japan-exclusive and the other half was marketed like ****. Who's gonna play an unknown IP that they have no nostalgia for that's in a niche genre? I think the groundwork they have laid with Heroes will do just fine to keep getting people interested in the older titles as they are remade and released on Virtual Console.

I think he meant having Fire Emblem 6, 7 and 8 play like Awakening and Conquest do; sort of like what Echoes does for Gaiden.

Though I'm picturing a remake of Genealogy of the Holy War with the entirety of Thracia 776 relegated to x Chapters between whatever FE4 chapters 6 and 7 become when condensed into more traditional Fire Emblem chapters.

What you don’t like tressa? She is my favorite well I like her story mostly as a squads mate not all that much. But yeah that’s my issue with octopath is the grinding it can take a WHILE to level up some of the characters. After putting 80 hours in of grinding I kinda had to take a break.

I really should get around to buying Octopath, probably next year.
The little game money I have is reserved for Let's Go Meltan and Smash Ultimate.

Octopath is fantastic in my opinion, one of the best RPGs I've played in years. The entire soundtrack is phenomenal, the battle system is very solid, and the art style is downright gorgeous throughout the whole game.

The fact that you can basically choose how you want to progress through the story is genius in my opinion, and allows for a lot of freedom in how you want to play. You're not even required to go for all eight characters if you don't wish to, that's how much freedom you have. Not many RPGs will give you that much freedom. It is easily one of my favorite games of the year.

Hopefully you'll be able to get it sometime next year though, as I feel you'll enjoy it as long as you enjoy turn-based battles in your RPGs.

IMO Hilda would be far worse than Dark Pit. Like Hilda's the most "because echo" character out there. Did anyone even want her in the game before E3?

As for music, the 3 franchise picks I have are from Kid Icarus, Star Fox or Kirby.

To be on the safe side, it might be custom music if from none of these.

You also search for the Seven Great Demon Lords* in a post-game sidequest in Digimon: Cyber Sleuth (arguably a game more fitting for the SMT comparison ). *(called the "Seven Deadly Digimon" in what is probably a case of trying to make a Woolseyism, whether the attempt worked or not is up to opinion)

Daimon Masaru (Marcus Damon for the non-purists) punches Digimon to provide energy so his Agumon can evolve. It makes no sense and it's awesome.

I love this so much, it looks great!

Mega Ampharos is one of my favorite Mega Evolutions, and the way you used its flowing locks on Mewtwo works really well in my opinion.

We can’t have Octopath representation without Primrose’s theme. It’s beautiful.

And agreed about Tressa. Story wise, hers is the weakest and her personal skill is outclassed heavily by Therion’s steal. I also didn’t like how her story ended. But I will give her that Runelord Tressa is one hell of a support class.

I need to go back to the game to finish it. The final boss kicked my ass so hard I took a break after playing it nonstop... I still haven’t gone back.

No clear personality, weak motivation, overshadowed by a side character, hypocritical characterization, chapters feel pointless filler and some moral of how capitalism is good???
