Heres a question, if you could have a newcomer of your choice join the roster, with a home stage and a costume who would you choose?
I'd go for Professor Layton and a stage based on the opera scene rom Eternal Diva.
Also Soccer Player Layton as costume to reference that cameo in Inazuma Eleven, another Level-5 IP

I want Incineroar with an Ultra Space stage, but I really can't think of a costume.
I also want Geno with a Forest Maze stage, and each of his capes are alt colors.

In the case of Shovel Knight being a AT ruins Shantae's chances, I'll have to disagree. Its quite possible that Shantae can make it in, without Shovel Knight holding her down considering that Shovel Knight's current status doesn't make Shantae's merits and advantages any less meaningful. Shantae's, and Shovel Knight's chances are quite possibly mutually exclusive, and it could just come down to Sakurai simply choosing one over the other.

I won't delude myself into thinking that she couldn't be an AT too, but if that's the case why not show them back to back as a group of indie AT's on the AT reveal portion of the Direct, instead of dividing them up?
I'm not saying she can't be an AT, that's a very possible scenario that I'm prepared for. Its just... why not show her along with Shovel Knight if that was the case? It would of made more sense to me.

A Sonic song being put on October 10th would be fitting. Because that was the date Sonic was announced for Brawl 11 years ago. It even happened to be on a Wednesday 11 years ago heh.

October does seem to be the month for Sonic stuff regarding Smash. Given he was even announced to be returning for Smash 4 in a October 1st direct.

Last time I predicted a track from Earthbound/Mother but after playing Sonic Mania for a while, I would like to see Studiopolis Zone or another Mania song as a new track this week.

I’ll be honest: all these “leaks” are really taking away all this hype. I mean, I know some are more legit than others, and I know that we’ll definitely get a Smash announcement of some kind soon, it’s just that I’m feeling almost burned out with all these different predictions and all. Not even Botanic Sage’s Hype Train music can lift me at the moment

Hey Professor Layton is my mosted wanted! I would go for a traveling stage around St. Mystere and I’d like Layton to have his formal white suit from the prequel trilogy.

The Eternal Diva opera is a great idea! honestly Eternal Diva is very underrated, it’s a legitimately good movie based on a video game series that is also completely canon to the story in the games. That’s rare.

Yikes. IF that happens it'd be cheaper to buy a ticket to Japan where amiibos are plentiful and everything is expensive than paying their scalped prices.

Not a lot of people talked about Rayman this time around. Once the ball got rolling after E3, most discussion got into 3 or 4 major topics when it came to characters. The fact he even got in as a regular trophy last time was a fairly big deal right? Even if he isn't playable, do you think that could add to his chances of being an assist at the very least?

As for reveals and stuff, last month we got info, so I've got no problem waiting honestly.

I'd want the Tap Trial Girl from Rhythm Heaven. Also known as Rhythm Girl (Monkeys are optional)

She's a blank slate, so she could easily have characters and items from throughout the series in her move set without feeling out of place.

As for an alternate costume, I would say this

The stage would be Remix 10. It will kinda be like the Warioware stage, going through a bunch of rhythm games throughout the series.

So what you're saying is that we have to start promoting Pichu as the new Bayo-level Smash god, and also say the Melee Kirby is viable? Nice.

I actually have the Marie plushy, it's pretty cool. I think they're still on Amazon if you want one. I can't recommend it enough, it helps protect me from my haunted Callie plush that keeps trying to drink my Pepsi and call me rude names.

I'm so excited for Simon and Richter. I really want to see how similar or different they feel from their NES, SNES and TurboGrafx iterations. I can't wait to see how the vampire killer works. How the subweapons work. Their final smashes.... Ugh. <3 I'm a huge Castlevania fan girl, I just had to get this out.

Speaking of amiibos, the Walmart I work at doesn't even stock them anymore. There's another Walmart in a town about an hour out from where I live, but last I checked, they only had a handful of Daisy amiibo. And the Gamestop in my area had nothing but Wedding Mario.

It's weird how amiibo are apparently still selling well but no place I go to ever has any on display anymore. And I know being sold out the isn't the issue anymore, since they don't even have places to put the other ones. It just seems that, outside of major releases, nowhere in the area is willing to ever have more then one type up at a time.

It's not really a complaint, since I'm still able to order most of the stuff I want online. But I do think it's funny.

As much as I want them playable, I feel Shantae and Rayman will both get in only as assist trophies.

Shantae feels comparable to Shovel Knight - deserving of representation, but not enough to top the more obvious inclusions taking up development time.

Rayman is about at Bomberman's level of importance given the limited roster, I would imagine.

I just hope Sakurai will at least consider converting assist trophies to playable characters during this DLC cycle. If not, at least we know there is a decent chance that Shovel Knight & Bomberman (and potentially Shantae and Rayman) could get into the next Smash game.

yeah im cautiously optimistic this means they might not be as hype as they were the first time, people might not collect them so much just the hardcore fans, and they will be more available (just mostly online)... conversely though it could mean that since these store dont stock them they become nearly impossible to find anywhere... i dont know but i have everything preordered that can be right now

I have been wondering wether or not Sakurai would include content from outside media in Smash that are still related to a videogame of origin. I mean, I know the Misty trophy was based off her anime design and Ash Ketchum was directly referenced in the Pokemon Trainer trophy but still.
If by any chance Layton did make it into Smash, I'd love to hear some songs from the Eternal Diva movie too since it had some great tunes, It's not even anything like the Pokemon anime since the movie is actually canon to the games too but still..
