Since there are so many roster predictions that is mostly based off on the Box, what I want to create is the most wanted yet expected rosters while ignoring the Box theory.
So here is my predicted roster!
Newcomers:
69. Elma
70. Isaac
71. Geno/DQ Rep
72. Chorus Kids/Karate Joe
73. Incineroar/Decidueye (Wanted the latter more but the former is the most likely)
74. Banjo/Steve (I Like Both of Them and Either IS Fine)
- Sora is DLC in my eyes imo. I really love this character but SE and Disney can profit off of him more if he is DLC as many general audience will buy him.
Echoes:
- Shadow (Sonic)
- Ken (Ryu)
- Impa (Sheik)
- Felix (Isaac)
- Black Shadow (Captain Falcon)
I've given my predictions before, but perhaps I'll give the reasons, both for want and why I think they're likely.

Incineroar - Not a wanted character, but I'm confident that Verge will be right, same for
60e.
Ken

Isaac - I want a character from a new first party series other than Inkling, and Isaac's been well requested since Brawl, topping many of the polls

Felix - Less certain about this, but if Isaac gets a standalone Robin/Lucina type reveal, I could see him coming with an echo, and it fits with villains/anti-heroes.
71.
Banjo & Kazooie - My most wanted character since Melee/Brawl, and like Ridley/King K Rool has been long requested, but has been considered impossible. Now that we have reason to believe Microsoft's involved, it's possible. And Banjo tops the charts. Spencer's tweet in the 2015 ballot days acknowledged the possibility (genuine or not), and Microsoft has been using Banjo & Kazooie's N64 design this year, which I can't see as a Microsoft decision. I can see that as a Sakurai decision, though. And I just can't see Sakurai or Nintendo going to Microsoft in the first place, unless they had a character heavily associated with Smash in mind.
38e.
Shadow - I'd enjoy Shadow, as I think with some chaos control elements, he could be an interesting echo. His assist has been MIA, Knuckles is now an assist, and has been a popularly requested character.
72.
Geno - Like Ridley, King K Rool and Banjo, has been requested since Melee. So much so, he got a Mii costume with his own unique splash art. Verge says an SE rep is in the game, so I feel like Geno and the rest make a perfect roster for the Ultimate Smash game for fans.
There are other characters I would like. I think
Dixie could be an interesting echo, but I just don't know when another echo could be reasonably revealed within the time we have, and there's not much evidence pointing to her. My second favorite is
Crash, but his popularity gained momentum after 2015 with the N-Sane trilogy, and now that it's on the Switch, I think he's a likely DLC candidate. I really wish
Elma could get in the base somehow, so with
Rex & Pyra as potential DLC, all of Xenoblade Chronicles games could be represented in some way. And I'd love certain third party series being represented, such as Persona (
Joker), Devil May Cry (
Dante), and I think
Sora fits perfectly in Smash, is much more likely than people think as representatives from Disney purportedly say they'd be on board, and makes sense as a DLC character if they decide to make Switch ports after Kingdom Hearts 3 releases.
