While I won't mind Incineroar if/when he gets in. It is going to be a bit weird that with this game full of fanservice that Pokemon's new character is someone Gamefreak wanted to promote over actual fan wishes. I'm kinda curious on who was the top polling Pokemon in the ballot not counting veterans. While I never believed the gardevoir/gothitelle leak, I would of believed Gardevoir at least may have been up there as some of the more popular Pokemon choices.

One or Two games aren't enough for me to not want Tails though. Not like some of that would get heavily referenced in Smash. I just would really like Mario & Luigi Vs. Sonic & Tails possible which regardless of any moments where Tails hasn't exactly been a top notch character would be awesome just for the legacy of having in Smash.

And any faults like that in those 2 games should be more at the fault of the writers rather then the character. Tails wasn't playable in either game, but they still had to have him do something but without effecting gameplay so much. And unfortunately suddenly getting mad at Sonic or being a coward was just one of those ways they could still write Tails in without having him doing barely anything gameplay wise.

Yeah I totally get that. Anyone can point to some of Shadow's cringey dialogue in his namesake game lmao. Idk I suppose it's just recency bias on my part. Tails, Eggman, Knuckles, and Shadow are all great picks but reality dictates only Tails and Shadow can realistically make it and I'm rooting for both of them. I am just heavily biased towards Shadow as he's my favorite video game character of all time.

If Sakurai's gonna be biased, at least do some Mother biasing. We're never gonna get a new game, but it'd sure be fun to watch Flint get revealed and everybody wonders what the heck they just saw.

Not necessarily just Pokémon, as Blaze and Miyu also fit. Jury's out on Klonoa, since it's tough to figure out what animal he is.

Fun fact; most of the cringey dialogue is the result of the English localization trying to make the game more "mature".

For example: "it's like taking candy from a baby which is fine by me" didn't come from the original script.

I for one would welcome Isaac in open arms not to mention the addition of Felix which would be interesting. I'd also be happy for his fans since he was long overdue for them and they finally got what they wanted and deserved.
