I'm fine/Indifferent with Isabelle getting in, she's super popular and all but gooood... Her ****ing trailer was the most boring **** ever. Like, It totally reflected Animal Crossing but, It dragged on, and on, and on once we knew she was in Smash and sadly it was self-contained as an Animal Crossing trailer.

And that's because at the end of the day it was a bigger reveal for the Animal Crossing fan base that the new game was being announced.

Most people assumed Isabelle was in (although her not being an echo was the bigger surprise) and they ended the direct with the new game annoucnement not the smash announcement, showing which one was the bigger show stopper. Her trailer was more about the new animal crossing game than smash and that's why some people were bummed, but in the end it's great to have her on board!

MK9 will probably be on the next console now. MK8D has sold over 10 million units there's no need to split the player base and confuse parents with another game.

They used to release multiple Mario Parties per system so it's not impossible. If the switch is going to last as long as they want it to then I could see it happening. But maybe a different direction, like the cross over racing game everyone wants?

So, something's been on my mind as of late. I've noticed some people have been saying that Smash is running out of solid first party content to choose from. Do any of you feel like this is true?

Yes:
Characters considered bottom barrel or worse in the past are suddenly more prominent.
Most recurring main cast members of represented franchises appear in some notable capacity.
Assists Trophies & 3rd Parties are receiving greater focus.
Ultimate is ~85% recycled content (granted in the best way possible)
Echoes

No:
Under-use of smaller 1st/2nd party IPs.
Non-recurring cast franchises (Pokemon/FE/Xeno) still have a lot of options.
Time keeps on moving for potential new franchises (ARMS?).
The Smash fanbase lives in it's own bubble.

In reality, Smash isn't running out of 1st/2nd party content, but if you've been around to remember previous periods of speculation it certainly feels like it. Newcomer threads are smaller in number and less active. DLC will be exciting, but the wait and the speculation surrounding it will be even more sluggish than it is now.

I'd call it second party... Nintendo only owns 1/3 of it... It's so big that they have to share it with Game Freak (The Developers) and Creatures Inc. (They lent support). This is the reason why Pokemon isn't involved in a lot of Nintendo crossovers... It's kinda of a licensing hassle if you know what I mean...

Given that, it's a miracle Pokemon got into Smash before it became too huge.

Actually, yes. I've felt for awhile that the vast majority of good/important Nintendo characters are already in Smash at this point. It's part of the reason my requests are pretty much all 3P characters.

I think we're past the point now where there are a lot of 3P characters that are actually more important to Nintendo's history than any of the actual Nintendo characters that aren't in the game. Like, Mega Man and Final Fantasy had more to do with Nintendo's success over the years than half the Nintendo characters in Smash.

I agree entirely. Even Western third parties have helped to contribute to Nintendo's success and history (e.g. Earthworm Jim being the biggest ambassador for mascots with attitude in the 90s to the point of having a rivalry with Donkey Kong, Rayman 2 having started out as a N64 exclusive to help the console, Banjo-Kazooie helping the N64 even more than Rayman). The possibilities became much more vast after getting out of Melee's comfort zone, and 4 is the ultimate catalyst that was needed to get people open to more exotic characters.

So for fun and since Im a big Ken supporter I figured why not detail what Id change about his moveset from Ryu

Intro - like ryu but while walking in ken rolls his shoulder with his hand in his shoulder and says "im ready for ya!"
Idle - more energetic idle stance like his stance from sf4 and sfv
Taunts - thumbs up pose like in the leak. Puts his hand out in a thumbs down like sf3. Puts finger out and says "bring it on"
Fsmash - changed to his far HK from sf4 since he never actually uses ryu donkey kick
Ftilt - changed to an axe kick since he never uses collarbone breaker. When the kick comes down it spikes
UpB - multihit and with a fire effect
Side b - multihit unlike ryus, doesnt go thru projectiles but has a lot less end lag
Neutral b - no red ver. Weaker than ryus
Final smash - his 2 ultras from sf4

Figured I'd play some persona 5 after beating Dragonquest XI to make the wait till Smash easier, but at the moment, DQ seems like the RPG that just won't end. Not that that's a bad thing, but geez, it just keeps going! Makes me wish the Luminary was put in here as a playable character.

I think the absolute highest Sonic can get in this game is both Shadow (Sonic echo) and Tails (Semi-clone). But likely not getting both in the base game. One or both I could easily see become DLC

Incineroar won't be dlc, no one would pay for him. I mean I would but no one else would.

If for some reason Incineroar isn't in the base roster we're getting a Gen 8 Pokemon as dlc instead. Calling it now.

I don't know. As someone who never really played Street Fighter, I still bought Ryu. Why? Because I want the entire roster. Even if Crash Bandicoot gets in the game - someone I really don't want to get in because I have no attachment to him whatsoever and, quite frankly, I think is a boring character - I will still probably buy him.
