rip in pieceHey, & Knuckles! And Protoman! And Zero!
Depends on the definition of "solid". If we are talking about Smash speculation, yeah, we're down to a few big names, rest are already in or deconfirmed. You can go for 2000s IPs, but they aren't really hype. We're kinda down to Skull Kid/Dixie Kong/Isaac and maybe Bandana Dee.So, something's been on my mind as of late. I've noticed some people have been saying that Smash is running out of solid first party content to choose from. Do any of you feel like this is true?
In regards as to possible newly added franchises, that might be the case. Unfortunately though, this isn't really in the hands of Nintendo, but rather the people who handle the trademarks and franchise as a whole. Look at Custom Robo, they've declined renewing the trademark. Rhythm Heaven and Golden Sun seem to be the most expected and reasonable candidates. So, something's been on my mind as of late. And another Xenoblade repWe aren't lacking for first party newcomers until we get ARMS, Rhythem Heaven and Golden Sun characters.
Well ****, Simon disconfirmed then. These days I see the mii costumes for popular characters as a small prize for fans to have while they wait for their character in Ultimate and this is why I don't think Isaac is in.
The last New Nintendo IP? In general? That'd be depressing...I know Smash fandom isn't too fond of new first party franchises but it'd really nice if the first newcomer we got for Ultimate isn't the last new Nintendo IP.
I dunno about the fandom not liking new 1st party franchises.I know Smash fandom isn't too fond of new first party franchises but it'd really nice if the first newcomer we got for Ultimate isn't the last new Nintendo IP.
Well, I mean in Smash. Aside from Splatoon, only new franchise we got was Castlevania in terms of playable characters. The last New Nintendo IP? In general? That'd be depressing...
Not exactly but they seem to be running out of 1st parties that they're willing to make a moveset for (see the characters who are STILL assist trophies)So, something's been on my mind as of late. I generalized quite a bit, but Golden Sun is really the only franchise whose main character commonly described as "fan favourite" now that we have Inklings.I dunno about the fandom not liking new 1st party franchises.
I want Isaac, Wonder Red, Saki, John Reimi from Geist, anyone from Eternal Darkness, I supported the hell outta Shulk and Little Mac, the amount of people pulling for Inkling as DLC was deafening at times, and back to Isaac he's one of, if not the, biggest characters in speculation right now, we rooting for Banjo swishes he was still a Nintendo IP, ****in ARMS, the list goes on. I don't think the Fandom is against new 1st party franchises, it's just that many of them are unlikely, for base at least.
One reason I am rooting for Isaac so much is because I actively WANT a new franchise representative. Believe me dude, people like new first party franchise representatives.
Edit: not sure if I misinterpreted your post after what Zinith said, let me know.
Depends on the definition of fan-service, really. It might just be me but I don't think Ultimate is going to be 100% fan-service as some people here seem to think. Like, yes a big part of it will include fan-service but I feel like it's absurd to think that it's 100% about the fans.
I mostly meant popular character picks in the smash community like Geno, Banjo etc.Depends on the definition of fan-service, really.
You can even argue Corrin was a fanservice character since she was certainly is to a lot of Fates fans AND competitive fanbase where she is a pretty popular fighter. Or R.O.B., who isn't very interesting to most fans but might be very exciting for fans who are interested in Nintendo history and/or old school robots.
If you mean, voted highly in ballot, again, it depends. Even though they had a lot of votes in ballot, most people are insistent on Isabelle or Bayonetta aren't fanservice.
I'm almost certain that every unique newcomer we'll get will be voted by vocal fans in the ballot except a potential Pokemon newcomer. And Pokemons are almost always appeal to their fans. Same goes for echoes, they all can be considered as fanservice.
Don't know about the DLC, though.
(long story short: yes, everyone will be for fans but not necessarily for certain fans)
If Mike Jones somehow, some way, in some corrupted timeline got in then I am certain I had something to do with the timeline distortion that caused a character that I thought I alone wanted. And if Isaac was there too, well, I tell ya.There's 3 characters from first party series that aren't represented I want in Smash: Isaac from Golden Sun, Andy from Asvance Wars and Mike Jones from Star Tropics
It should have been obvious.Goodmorning. Is there any new things?
There is a Smash thread treading right now on Gamefaqs, but it's just about that 'bad news': the DLC characters being guest character.
Then it's impossible.I mostly meant popular character picks in the smash community like Geno, Banjo etc.
Honestly yes. Most of the highly requested Nintendo characters are primarily popular with hardcore Nintendo fans. Sure, I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan but it's just not really exciting. Every week I play Smash with a bunch of friends and we watched the E3 and Smash Directs together and it says something that the casual fans among my friends didn't really seem to care about some newcomers due to unfamiliarity. Especially if the moveset isn't very exciting. Third parties are incredibly popular characters who get more of a "OH MY GOD THEY GOT THAT CHARACTER?" reaction than Nintendo characters. ****, nobody thought Inklings wouldn't make it, lots of people felt Springman was a lock too but didn't actually care for himSo, something's been on my mind as of late. I've noticed some people have been saying that Smash is running out of solid first party content to choose from. Do any of you feel like this is true?
I don't see how it's impossible but ok lmaoThen it's impossible.
Oops, I meant the opposite. I think it's not possible for all newcomers to be long-waiting fan favourites.I don't see how it's impossible but ok lmao
I can easily see someone like Steve getting in over Banjo f.e.
Yeah exactly thatOops, I meant the opposite. I think it's not possible for all newcomers to be long-waiting fan favourites.
Yeah, Pretty sure the only one we have left is Rhythm Heaven, and after that, all that would be left are either dead franchises (Golden Sun), or franchises too small (Wonderful 101) or too new (ARMS)...So, something's been on my mind as of late. I've noticed some people have been saying that Smash is running out of solid first party content to choose from. Do any of you feel like this is true?
And Viridi and Dunban...Hey, & Knuckles! And Proto Man! And Zero!
Im right there with ya lol I think Mike Jones would be great for Smash. Star Tropics is super underrated and I think he'd have a great and easy-to-build moveset. If Mike Jones somehow, some way, in some corrupted timeline got in then I am certain I had something to do with the timeline distortion that caused a character that I thought I alone wanted. And if Isaac was there too, well, I tell ya.
In other words. Hell yes, but it'll probably never happen.
As I mentioned, Remote Bombs feel so much more fun to use than normal bombs. They even have the same sound effect as in BOTW!Oh, I was gone for a while. Yeah, ARMS counts.
That's fine. Is there anything you found personally interesting about him though?
Isabelle. She’s so adorable, and friendly!Since I ain't got time for no Pokemon You Wanna Go, Tough Guy? Let's Go, here's an idea:
You are forced to remove one character from the ultimate roster. However, that fighter is now for real (that's right, IRL) and you are best friends with them.
Assume they retain their personalities and abilities.
Whomst do you remove?
I assume it varies greatly, depending on the character. But you'd probably be hard pressed to find one that'd be more expensive than one co-owned by SquareEnix and Disney...Do you know how much a 3rd Party character is?
I think that's one of SMBRPG's three best songs. Along with the obvious Geno's woods and:And if Geno somehow doesn't make it, well...
I'll have this on repeat for awhile.
I could see him being at least an assist trophy. If Mike Jones somehow, some way, in some corrupted timeline got in then I am certain I had something to do with the timeline distortion that caused a character that I thought I alone wanted. And if Isaac was there too, well, I tell ya.
Technically second party, Nintendo doesn't own Gamefreak AFAIK, they just own a stake in the brand as a whole. Is Pokemon first, second or third party?

Second party is the customer. Is Pokemon first, second or third party?
View attachment 167317
I'd call it second party... Nintendo only owns 1/3 of it... It's so big that they have to share it with Game Freak (The Developers) and Creatures Inc. (They lent support). This is the reason why Pokemon isn't involved in a lot of Nintendo crossovers... It's kinda of a licensing hassle if you know what I mean...Is Pokemon first, second or third party?
