Since Minecraft Steve is (almost) a lock-in, what other 3rd party characters would you like to see in Smash?

I want Crash Bandicoot...
He seems like the most logical western third party after Steve...

It super-annoys me that Meltan looks so similar to Ditto yet they have no connection whatsoever. If it was a more original design I wouldn't mind but the thing is just Ditto with more assets on it, and since it has no connection with Ditto from what we've seen of it it feels a lot lazier than it should.

Guess that's what I get for expecting anything good out of Pokemon Let's Go!...

Completely setting aside all likelihood or sensible reasoning, I'd love Nightmare from Soul Calibur, Master Chief, and Kratos

I don't even particularly like Halo or God of War, I like SC on a casual level, but they'd be incredibly left-field and just really cool imo. They're the only kind of characters who could surpass the Cloud reveal for me.

It wasn’t a problem with Mii Swordfighter Black Knight getting KO’ed just as easily as regular Mii Swordfighter, ahaha...
One could argue it’s Ike being disproportionately heavy due to extra equipment in his pockets that he isn’t using (kinda like Snake,) rather than Black Knight being disproportionately light.

Mii Fighters are a different thing alotgether though.

The whole event centered around Dittos transforming into Meltan, how can you say they aren't connected?

Yeah, it was intentional as the weird trailer with Willow and Oak called it out.

I still think there's some relationship between Ditto and Meltan.

Mainly because Ditto can be found holding Metal Powder in the games and I've always thought that is weird.

Why wouldn't it be? It looks like Ditto and specifically turns into Ditto. Seems intentional to me.

I think the Pokemon Go professor mentions it in a video released in the Pokemon twitter account.

The Koffing line was Freddie Freaker this whole time. It all makes sense now.

The fact GF set up Meltan as a supposed leak was actually pretty genius. It does bring that feeling of mystique the event Pokemon used to have and feels like a direct response to them getting datamined and leaked early on when as soon as the games released.

Makes sense.

We get evolutions were it's literally just multiple Pokemon stuck together.

Ditto isn't even that complex a design to begin with. Just a blob with a smiley face.

Yeah, it was intentional as the weird trailer with Willow and Oak called it out.

Maybe Ditto's been holding metal powder as a leftover from its cancelled evolution.

Meltan could be recycling elements from the unused Pokemon.

I'm not saying I want my most wanted characters to be top tier.

Buuuuuuuuut I'm also not saying it wouldn't be satisfying to finally main a character that's fast enough to punch Sonic in the face.

Having Lyn be a high speed fast combo Swordfighter would be a breath of fresh air (Roy comes very close but still), she could use the whole Sheik style of death by a thousand cuts, but at the same time reward players who can find the openings of their foes, and attack with precision and critical/massive damage.

If you had to imagine a trailer for Lyn what would yours like? Mine would be her coming in the nick of time, to back up the FE crew who're struggling to fight Ganondorf, stopping him just before he finishes his command grab on Roy. That or a character reveal with her protecting a defenseless person/character, in a town or city, which then leads to something like this...

Wait wat?? Sauria? That's a cool little nod to StarFox Adventures! I just don't get why nothing else about this game is ever acknowleged. And this video is reaaal cool.. but I heard StarFox Zero was **** so that's kind of a shame, cause I would like to play it still.

It sucks when your favorite franchise is struggling to get back on its feet, even more so when they basically reboot everything, and leave out one of your favorite characters (Krystal).

I tried to post this information on an individual thread but it was removed, so I guess I have to post it here?? I do not know. I have some information on this game that I'm trying to share! It's not much, but it is below. I have a colleague that is a professional editor, she works with large Japanese companies like Nintendo and Sony - that is where it comes from

The game is on schedule to release in the winter, but an online demo will be available in November for 1 week

This will coincide with their official announcement through a program called the “Final Smash” Direct, also in November

There will be 3 characters/players highlighted in the program (I do not know their names!), and an additional game mode for single player/co-op

There is an in-game “currency” known as spirits that you can use to purchase characters, costumes and other special items

They forced a control scheme onto it that didn't work to justify the Wii U gamepad's existence.

The game itself wasn't terrible, just hard to play and unimaginative, since it just retold the story of Star Fox/Star Fox 64 again. It's worth trying if you have a Wii U, just be patient with the controls.

The BK being a heavy but not a superheavy doesn't seem any more farfetched to me then Corrin being the same weight as Mario, Riddles being shorter then usual or Charizard having awful air speed. And it's not like Ike isn't slow, heavy and powerful in Smash Bros.

I do see armor clipping being a problem. Not an incurable one, but one that might be more difficult to solvw then the developers think is worth it. I doubt he scored that high on the ballot either, especially with competition from Chrom and Lyn.

There are lot more "lazy" designs out there. Voltorb is just a pokeball with a face. Grimer is a blob of sludge with a face. Farfetched is just a duck carrying a leek. Ect. But there's still something to like about simple designs. It's both bizarre but also kind of cute in a weird sort of way, so it still has a kind of charm to it.

Can we explain Unown though? Letters and punctuation, but I also don't understand the moveset (literally nothing but Hidden Power).

I don’t think Steve isn’t even remotely close to a lock at this time. Until Vergeben’s Smash sources state that he’s in, I don’t buy it. I know that Vergeben thinks that the guy who “leaked” Steve may be credible, but that alone does not convince me.
