Nintendo is more secretive than Square. Or anyone.

Half the industry can't talk about what they are working on, and everyone knows it. But Nintendo is on a whole 'nother level.

A third-party character would not be inherently more well-guarded than any other character for that reason.

However, DLC (which started development later obviously) would have fewer people knowing about it at any given stage.

I'd think Sakurai would consider Geno big enough to keep him under wraps but I'll believe whatever says our SE is anyone other than him.

I don't attribute someone's job being on the line as a sign that it can't be Geno or for sure is someone else. Square is a very sensitive company, so any information coming out of them is pretty risky with how closed-doored they can be. As well, EVERYONE risks their jobs giving out information like this. Perhaps this source in particular just feels that risk is too real, or got that info in a not-as-secluded way.

Besides, both leakers confirmed that they don't know who it is for sure yet. If it was a big deal, like Sora, I figure their other sources would have at least heard the same.

So if anything, I feel it's the opposite.

While I'm still believing it's a DQ rep then Geno then Sora.

If it's truly Sora, it means the Mouse itself is close somewhere with it's lawyer.
And you don't **** with the Mouse.




PS: to anyone saying that Discussing with Disney is impossible, knows that Sega did it. Let Sonic in Wreck-it Ralph to get him in All star Racing.

And people said that official Mario Kart Music a whole new rearrangement of Mario Circuit is being Played at the Disney World Park.


It's a tinfoil Theory, but IT DO prove that Nintendo and Disney did discuss with each other with a deal, and since they really wanted Mario for the first Movie...who knows. Maybe they will get Mario for the second?

Could always have just had Red as Charizard's trainer, Blue as Greninja's trainer, and Leaf trainer of a fully evolved Grass starters.

Very likely. I did some additional research and here are the countries in Europe that have Nintendo offices from roughly westernmost to easternmost: Portugal, Spain, UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Russia.

Of these, Portugal, UK and Ireland are GMT or GMT+1 depending on daylight savings. Russia has various time zones but Nintendo of Russia is based in Moscow, so the relevant time zone is GMT+3 as they do not observe daylight savings.

That leaves France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and they all observe GMT+1 or GMT+2 depending on daylight savings.

Of course, Germany is where the main Nintendo of Europe headquarters is located, but as you said, they do have operations in France, as the Nintendo of Europe Research and Development is based in Paris.

This leak very likely comes from either France or Germany, but it could be from the other European countries I've mentioned.

While I cannot claim to be intimately familiar with the procedures for Nintendo's European operations, based on other territories I would assume that only Frankfurt has a full localization and development staff. The others are probably just for logistics, marketing, and distribution, just like Nintendo of Canada, Nintendo of Mexico, ect. I doubt Nintendo of Belgium has dev builds of Smash Ultimate on tap.

Edit: Not talking about France, which as I understand it is a studio.

This particular leak seems like it could go either way at this point. I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Not gonna lie, that would be pretty awesome if she were in the game, even as DLC. I don't know a thing about Granblue Fantasy, but she looks really cool

I mean Square are super stingy about Leaks because they manage to leaks their own Games. They're sometimes competing with Ubisoft in that territory.

Both of those series have legal juggernauts involved, and I'd imagine that they don't want the info getting out. It's possible that they're making Square Enix and/or Nintendo keep this information in the dark so no one finds out.

But they aren't doing it in Ultimate, and most of the problems with the switching mechanics for the Trainer are being solved.

Pokemon is a game about team based combat, using not just type differences but also stat, move and ability differences between your 'mons to get the upper hand. Having a Pokemon Trainer as playable is the perfect way to represent that, imo. They also indirectly reference evolution by having all three mons in a different evolutionary stage.

This so much. We're fast approaching only two months away from release, even if it is a little earlier than usual, it's prime leak season now.

I could be wrong and Ken is all we get, (I'm certainly no expert on these things, lol) but IMO I do believe we have a very, very good shot at getting ESRB 2.0 here. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped this weekend.

as far as i know, square fully owns the rights to dragon quest, like toriyama did the character designs but he doesnt own them like disney owns sora

Nah. More like there is a "Gentleman rules" between them.
Square come to Disney for Legal "Ok" (probably how we got Sora in WoF and Record Keeper) and Disney come to Square for a courtesy "Ok" (Explaining how Sora appeared twice in Disney Park and got his own Tsumtsum thingy on mobile.)

Yeah, most of these branches are small, except for the NoE HQ in Germany. Since this looks to be a development build, it's probably from NoE's localization team since they would need a developer build to alter text and they probably do some playtesting as well. The more playtesters in general, the better so it's safe to assume that they conduct gameplay tests in the American and European branches alongside localization since they could report bugs the Japanese team may overlook.

So yeah, Germany is the likeliest place this leak comes from. Someone might be getting fired, that's for sure.

But what about Sakurai adding only videogame characters to the game? Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are not videogame characters
