Anyone else upset that we may know all of the characters only because it ruins speculation?
Smash speculation is some of the best speculation, no other game comes close and its a shame we're going to have nothing for 3 months.

I don't like the tension of wondering/worrying if Wolf isn't coming back/gotta wait for months to know either way, or if Greninja got cut or not/gotta wait for months to put my mind at ease.

I mean I do like having brand new entries as a surprise, but just tell me which vets are still in, which cuts are returning, and which vets are getting cut, then keep any all-new characters a secret.

If the fighter you plan to main at this moment ends up being bottom tier, would you still main them? I personally will main Isabelle whether she's good or not.

Richter's whip could have the damage output of a wet noodle and I'd still main him.

EDIT: Same goes for Isabelle. No matter how good she is, her kit looks way too fun, so there's no way I wouldn't main her.

I don't even care if we don't get a Bethesda character in Smash.

Give me Fallout 4 and Starfield when it comes out and I will be fine, especially with us already getting Doom Eternal next year.

Since were talking mains a little bit;
I enjoy many characters, but I stick to Marth & Roy 99.9% of the time, with Squirtle in PM as an exception.
(I also like Corrin and Cloud, but I only play/practice Melee and PM regularly.)

Seeing Isabelle makes me wonder that if Tetra gets in, she hopefully become, a semi clone.

If the fighter you plan to main at this moment ends up being bottom tier, would you still main them? I personally will main Isabelle whether she's good or not.

Yes I'd still would main Isabelle good or bad, I also like that her moves have more range than Villager's own and that her moves have less set ups than Villager especially her Down B.

Also Fishing Pole

Also F-throw/B-throw to Fishing pole becomes a semi chain grab.

Also tether ledge grab, and watch as Isabelle joins the Spiderman club along with Dark Samus, replacing Link who got kicked out (tethers only sorry pal)

Oh they're not generic mascots, trust me. The BK duology have more personality than most of Smash's roster combined. Banjo is an overly sincere pushover who can often be dense and thickheaded but has a knack for wanting to help people, while Kazooie, although his best friend, is basically a troll with feathers, openly mocking and jeering the various characters of the game. One of the idle poses is Kazooie trolling Banjo by pecking him on the head. If you let her do this a couple times, he finally loses his cool and grabs her by the neck and *wrings her neck* in a playful way. They have great synergy.

And their abilities are built off of working together as a team, with Banjo's backpack of wonder and bear-like strength and durability matching Kazooies agility, flight and numerous egg moves. They're also skilled at playing the instruments that they're named after.

Can you do one for Ninjask?

Ooh, Ninjask is lowkey on of my favorites (I have a lot of favorites). His movepool doesn't give a lot to work with but sure, why not?

Ninjask has an extremely fast run and air mibility, as well as having three air jumps. However, he is extremely light and his attacks generally do very little damage.

Up Special - Aerial Ace. Ninjask quickly flies in a cirular loop at an upwards angle. Can snap to the ledge, but has short range. Good frame data but weak kill power. Mostly used as an out of shield option and combo finisher. Because Ninjask returns to his starting position it does not put him into special fall.

Neutral Special - X-Scissor. Makes two large slashes directly in front of Ninjask in the shape of an X. On of Ninjask's more powerful moves, good for catching spot dodges.

Side Special - U-turn. Ninjask quickly flies forwards then returns to his original spot. Smash inputting the move will increase its range. If spaced well, it can snap to the ledge. Good for catching landings and safe on shield on most characters if properly spaced.

Down Special - Sand Attack. Ninjask swipes the down, launching sand forwards close to the ground. It has a slashing hitbox and a sand hitbox. The sand doesn't make the target flinch but has a powerful windbox. The slash is a powerful kill move but has very short range. If used in the air, sand isn't launched.

The man didn’t include him because he thought he wouldn’t be unique despite being the protagonist of Fire Emblem’s biggest game and went with Robin. Ever since Brawl, moveset was NOT an afterthought and is an important aspect for why a character gets chosen.

Inkling, Simon, and King K. Rool have playstayles that are unique to them and are in their own archetype. Ridley is a character that has a much more sadistic personality that already stands out from the cast to allow him more guresome looking moves. Isabelle, although a semi-clone, still has unique moves that have her stand out like her fishing rod and Lloyd rocket, not to mention her whole moveset is generally out of the ordinary. Plus, Wii Fit Trainer is very unique in the sense that she uses an erratic moveset.

Sure some characters like Ridley and maybe King K. Rool were chosen since they were popular, but they still have defining traits that are unique to them and them only. The moveset and how a charcater would play IS part of the selection process and why some characters have a higher chance than others. But to say that it isn’t is being oblivious to the one thing Sakurai mentions several times when it comes to the newcomers these days. (Not to say Banjo can’t be unique).

Too similar to Martha didn't stop them for going ahead and creating Lucina instead of just making chrom the clone, but they **** on him incessantly in pits guidance lol

So the problem with this is that Lucina can absolutely and realistically be a Marth clone as she even appears to be Marth for a portion of her game.
Chrom being a clone wouldn't really make sense in Smash 4.

The upsides are that they'd probably all come out on the same day and that they'd knock off a lot of popular character check boxes like Shadow and Dixie.

Yeah we knew this. Rhythm Heaven's license expired this year, although Golden Sun's is actually due next year, so that's interesting for sure. But it could mean nothing other than the IP was nearing expiration.

I think you mean their trademarks were renewed.

Trademarks expire after a certain amount of years, so renewing them keeps Nintendo's ownership of them. I believe Rhythm Heaven was actually set to expire this year.

I just remembered something. On January or February, it's Smash 20th anniversary. What if Sakurai has something especial prepared for us in celebration of that? Like some kind of pack with a bunch of characters or something.

Anyways, I really hope the dlc lifetime of this game is long and good so we can get plenty of characters, stages, and even items or modes. And the best part is, any character would be brand new yes or yes. It's exciting to think.

Feel that’s possible. We could be getting a bunch of DLC fighters either announced or playable that day post-Direct

I reached that point back in Brawl. I didn't even care what new characters made it into 4 tbh (after Brawl, all I had left were K. Rool and Dark Samus, I opened up to Dixie later).

Pit, Wolf, Lucario, Snake, Sonic, Pokemon Trainer, King Dedede, Diddy, Meta Knight, Ike, I mean, almost everyone I wanted and didn't realize I wanted made the 3rd game.

The problem with this is Ganondorf

Different circumstances. Ganondorf was thrown in as filler in /MELEE/. Internet barely existed back then much less Smash requests. So Chrom getting Ganondorfed in this day and age would seem a bit off.
